I Was Wrong About Genshin- (Came Back After 2 Years)

i genuinely feel that Genshin is supposed to serve as a “get away” for a lot of people from the real world. it’s so relaxing to play and you can take your time… on top of that… it’s completely free… like you said the rewards aren’t always great… but when you do get them it just makes the experience so much better… you really don’t have to spend a cent on Genshin (you can if you want)… i logged back on to my Hoyoverse account yesterday and started playing Genshin… like i said… it’s truly a relaxing and enjoying escape from the rest of the world…

Agree, extremely relaxing. i hope they can improve and offer more while keeping the relaxed atmosphere. All of their ads they roll out that have real people in them always drives home the point you illustrated. And at least from what I’ve seen on youtube, they’ve never portrayed the game as a hardcore game. It’s always been Characters-story-exploration-(literally some of the most random shit like drowning, dying from fall dmg, getting taken out by a boar, random fan animations, etc)- and clips from their cinematic trailers or live2d ones.

As a f2p on average I get 70-80 pulls per patch I don’t know how that’s not generous considering the fact that power creep is not as insane as HSR and other games so you’re pull value for the characters is actually stable than HSR characters

Have been playing for almost 4 years. My map is 100% all quests done…. Never felt burned out nor lost interest. Beautiful open world and great music. Love Genshin and I’m in it until the end… I am more than satisfied.

Probably the best free game I’ve ever played period. Rewards are good. Events give lots of good weapons and useful 4*s. More rewards is always good. That said I did not play the game to get rewards or for the meta. If anything the rewards that need improving is the diversity of rewards you find in treasure chests. That’d be more meaningful to me and significantly increase satisfaction in exploration. Especially if they make some of these chests really hard to find or access by meeting x criteria(s). For me by far hands down the most beautiful open world. Ever since Inazuma I go out of my way when watching trailers to not look at anything revolving around open world. Just so I can explore everything fresh. It’s just that good. I love it. As a person that’s heavily invested into art, this game is an extreme visual treat. The music will stay with me forever, I’ll always have it in a playlist. Not even the most die hard brainless Genshin haters out there dump on the music. The story is also so great. I had no idea this little obscure game on youtube that may or may not exist/may or may not come out and was being written off as a Chinese BOTW ripoff game would be something I play for 4 years, something that definitively became my favorite franchise nor suck me into the Hoyo ecosystem of their other games that are now growing on me. I just at the time thought an anime open world game might be really cool and this looked like it had a good art direction too. I have lots of things I think the game could use, things I ask for and don’t get… things I ask for and HSR-ZZZ got…. And things I ask for and we have gotten (like wider enemy diversity, more frequent attacks, boss timer reduction(tho i wanted removal) etc.) I don’t think it’s perfect. But as a game in of itself, it’s a damn good game. as a game that’s Free……..it’s the best one i’ve played because yeah some others have better gameplay usually because of pvp focus… they failed to keep me as heavily invested and infatuated with the IP for years. I do wish they’d update the models (ZZZ’s rigging is insane) VO all the dialogue, so much great dialogue that many people won’t experience due to reading fatigue, and if in my ideal world all cutscenes/dialogues would be cinematics. They have the talent to make film quality (imo higher than many current titles) videos. The anime has yet to drop but they and Ufotable are working on it, so that’ll be insane. Oh and they have this good ass card game that they are constantly building and updating. I do hope they do this with other modes, like fishing. Fishing is great… just not in genshin. Rework the system make it more relaxing, fun, and add a huge and varied progression system.

I feel like people forget that this game is legit free, yeah it takes grinding to get the characters but like there’s a top quality story and world. Thank you for making this video I’ll definitely sub✨🫶

Your words at the beginning actually are quite curious. As you said, you felt the game was “going down a path you felt no interest in playing” And why is that curious? Because one of the faces of Hoyo, DaWei, actually said something very similar when they were showing Natlan. On a stage he spoke of how, around the last year (one or two years?), the genshin team felt very lost on what their goals were, on what they were doing…they were going on a path they didn’t like, and felt lost. I think it was implied very clearly that they didn’t know what they wanted to do to improve the game, other than to just make region after region, because they received so many suggestions that were so different from each other that it felt confusing. Maybe that’s why they’ve been making so many Qol additions for the last year lol I think their efforts on Natlan have been shown. I’m glad they seem to have found their footing, and I hope the game keeps improving until it reaches the perfect harmony of a player’s enjoyement and a developer’s final vision

Instant sub and share, you do great videos man. Keep it up! I have also came back after year and half and I like the game. I left because I felt chained so I needed some break and to focus on touching grass. Overall genshin > grass. Also I do not have now such a pressure to clear everything on 100%. Exploration is still nice and doing world quests without spoilers is much more fun even tho they could add voice acting to dialogues. After such break I can't easily clear abyss 12 on 9 stars even tho I could before break so whats the point of meta gaming (Gaming hehe pun intented) if you only feel sadness and frustration? Yeah you are right - there is no point so to anyone struggling - genshin and chill
