The algorithm pushed this beyond my usual little bubble. If you're new, here's what you should know about this channel: I’m just a Christian guy trying to *thoughtfully* address issues I care about. I do this for the love of the game. I've made enough on this platform being sensational. I'm not here to dunk on, upset, or hate on anyone. You may not agree with my conclusions or methods-that’s your prerogative. My goal isn’t to change your mind; only you can do that. I have no interest in debating with anyone, and I won’t. My commitment is simply to keep an open mind as I explore, learn, and change my views when presented with better information. That said, there are core beliefs and a worldview that shape what and how I share. If those beliefs are an issue for you, then you’re probably not part of my target audience, and I wish you well in finding something that resonates with you. That race you are talking about who has the power and loves to wheel it to hurt others is just a color not a race and that color is White and there are a lot of people from different countries trying to get into that white color. How is South Africa who is predominately black still being dominated by its minority white countrymen?

I’ve left a number of comments but I want to add one more 🫣 You never mentioned that black people weren’t allowed to vote until 1964! That was only 33 years before you were born. The right has been attacking the voting rights act HARD in courts. You tell me how that is based in a Biblical world view. Please. The redlining here in Charlotte, NC was insult to injury. They made it so that black folks could only buy real estate off Robert E Lee blvd. They renamed it to Freedom Ave.

Hi Kaelin, I really appreciated the conversation you had about Critical Race Theory and Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome. I’d like to add my perspective as someone living in South Africa. South Africa is often regarded as one of the most dangerous countries in Africa, and after spending years here, it’s clear to me that many South Africans suffer from a form of collective trauma stemming from the brutal racial segregation and dehumanisation of the Apartheid era. Apartheid policies not only institutionalised racial discrimination but also created a legacy of violence and systemic inequality that continues to affect people of colour today. The psychological scars and generational trauma are evident in the high levels of violence and social challenges many still face. At 26, I’m part of a generation born shortly before the end of Apartheid, but my family lived through it. It wasn’t until 1994 that all South Africans, regardless of race, were given the right to vote. That’s only 30 years ago, and we are still making progress toward healing from that period, but there’s a long way to go. The trauma of systemic oppression runs deep, and it affects both individuals and society as a whole. As someone who believes that vengeance is the Lord’s, I hold onto the hope that true justice will come, not through violence or retribution, but through healing, reconciliation, and the transformation of our society.

Lots of thoughts listening to this, hard to put em all in one comment tbh...Few things that weren't mentioned (in detail) - 1) The 13th Amendment is specifically the thing that allows literal slavery, it's not even disguised. It simply states that a criminal is the only person eligible to be a legal slave. This is why Blacks ARE TARGETED at a higher rate, therefore we're arrested and convicted at a higher rate. 2) The Police - Police Departments were literally started as slave patrols, and were about hunting down black people. Full stop, that was the mission of POLICE. (let it sink in for a min). 3) Loitering - The speaker said "vagrancy", but the term/crime they invented was "loitering"....With slaves being set free, they still had no employment or rights. So the idea was that if blacks were just outside, and standing, they were "loitering"....Now, tie this back to the 13th Amendment, and you can see how you can invent a "criminal" from a person just standing outside...and there you have it, he/she is eligible to be a slave again via the "crime" of "loitering"...(this is not a coincidence) 4) The lynching - Nah, not just a truck full of drunk hillbillies riding around at 2am stumbling on a black person....I mean FAMILIES, CHILDREN, CHRISTIANS, dresses in their Sunday best, going out by the DOZENS to sit and watch black men, women, and even children being lynched publicly, as well as well as being burned alive while chained...This wasn't 200 years ago, it was as recent as the 1930's and 50's. Go look at all the proud pictures, no one was ashamed of it, they advertised it. 5) The experimenting on Black women, girls, and babies were done with NO ANASTESIA...Thats was the real horror, not just that it was done. They felt everything... 6) Families (namely children) were SEPERATED from their parents before and during the trips, to be sent to different parts o the country, never to see each other again...Aside from inducing the worst kinda separation trauma, this was also a way of stopping any history from being shared, and the children were convinced that this is the only existence for black ppl, erasing any history of themselves. This wasn't "slavery", this was 400 years of TERRORISM...Until we start using the proper wording, nothing will ever truly be atoned or corrected. "Slavery", even "Chattel Slavery" is wrong, it was nothing less than TERRORISM...Slavery is too mild of a word, which is why it's so easily dismissed, as stated in the beginning of the video.

Yeah Kaelin it's crazy. I'm a huge US history nerd and I'm in law school in the Deep South. It really struck me how little most people know about US history, especially in law school. I’m moderate with biblical values and it frustrates me how little many conservative pundits really know. That's not to say the liberals are righteous at all, but their ability to at least listen to some voices has gotten support from black folk historically. Even the word “woke” was a word co-opted by right wing folks as a catch all for anything they didn't like when its original meaning came from the Black Conscious Movement encouraging black people to be politically and socially aware of the ills facing the black community.

I think a lot of Americans fail to understand the history of how you as people, including whites, got to that land. Like us in the Caribbean the first set of settlers in this regions is what we called Amerindians. Then came Christopher Columbus, the Spaniards, the French, the Dutch, Portuguese and the English. I could go on and write an essay on how we got here. But in all of this we need to first educate ourselves on how, why and when we were brought here. I appreciate the effort you make to be Intellectually honest in this discussion. I share a few things w you: I was a Christian--a licensed minister for 7yrs actually--lived in Noeth Texas for years, from Tulsa, currently living in California. I definitely do not share your biblical world view but I definitely do share your humanity and desire to see more empathy from all sides. I am liberal, progressive actually, and I agree that when the "left" speaks about racism/white supremacy it is, as you say, "...they're really speaking to a problem that is pervasive, and that has effectively destroyed a culture." As bad as youmay think some of the left's solutions are, they reflect the imperfections, to put it nicely, of the problems created and perpetuated by the right. It's funny how whites and many on the right demand perfection from the left. These are the same people who are OK w police breaking laws to enforce the law. Lastly, I would point out that you meticulously emphasized the injustices against AA women and children, who are protected groups, but glossed over the injustices against AA men, referring to them in a general sense as "people". AA men should be treated the same way as AA women and children when addressing the horrors they've--we've--endured and continue enduring. We've earned that and as an AA man, I think you should make sure you treats us as such.

57:44 Hi Kaelin (long response alert 🤭), I want to say your work on providing pertinent information is very commendable, which I appreciate. There was a point in which I had to add a caveat regarding Africans, Nigerians in particular. But first, humans will always skew the Word of God to fit their own selfish ambitions and evil deeds - chattel slavery as a disgusting prime example. As a Yoruba Nigerian, I know Jesus and know Christianity as a religion of the Middle East, not Europe & certainly not a White man’s religion. Living in America almost 30 years, I’ve observed there is an orchestrated form of dissonance that exists which makes Black Americans to believe the struggles of oppression and effects of slavery don’t exist in West Africa. It certainly does. [The ‘point of no return’ locations are stationed across the western coast of the continent, not only in Ghana.] The continent has yet to recover from the atrocities of the trans-Atlantic slave trade beginning about 1501, with South America - Brazil (my tribe being among the most exported to Brazil). The descendants of those enslaved while on the continent still remember. The effects & damages of colonialism are alive and well. Neo-colonialism, and economic oppression, continue - all by the same people wreaking havoc on Black Americans. Not to mention, presently occurring genocide and wars in Central and East Africa. As Nigerians, the best way to combat all these negatives, is education. To be more specific, Yoruba Nigerians are culturally more educationally inclined. Igbos are more business minded and Hausas are more agriculturally focused. During the time of Nigerian colonialism 1861-1960, there was a reason the Brits placed power in the hands of Hausas & not in the hands of more progressive-minded tribes. Not to mention the Biafran war instigated by the Brits, leaving behind generational damage among major tribes. Not to digress much, the point is the continuous harm done by the yts on the continent - perpetuated to this very day and more dangerously in a mental way which has created a devaluing of racial & cultural importance compared to that of yts. The obvious physical damages aren’t publicized by the global media. But as people of the land, many have developed a resistance through various forms of reprieve that allows us to maintain dignity. One being that the evils of oppression not being spoken aloud, at least not enough for people outside to know. Added with the preference to place our best appearance forward, regardless of the unspoken mess. This unfortunately leads to the belief that Nigerians on the continent are well off compared to, or better off than Black Americans. Whereas, our similarities exist in different ways. As a Yoruba Nigerian-born person, having lived in the U.S. nearly 30 years, my front-row seat to the Black experience including my own as a Black person AND on both sides as African and American, has been a jarring one to say the least. It’s been eye-opening to witness the diverse and progressive types of evil perpetuated against Black people across the globe. But I say all this to hopefully demystify the perceived ideas of Nigerians and shed a ray of reality to the Black African experience as well.

I’m also glad I didn’t know your politics before bc I probably would’ve let my judgment put me off from an influencer that has good intentions, which is not fair. Some folks are indoctrinated or believe in their own “success-narrative” or their own equality narrative which is more than likely a humble brag-without knowing they are the exception to the rule, even if they are exceptional like you and your family. I am a black conservative but further left than you are, as I believe in freedom and free-will as this country was founded on: religious freedom. Separation of church and state. Regardless of my Christian faith. There is a difference between a personal biblical worldview and a theocratic style of government, which is what the Puritans fled from to begin with. I would never impose my beliefs as law. The Right right now is far from Christian and it has swallowed many unassuming followers. I’m a proud American but my fellow Americans make me lose faith in the fabric of this nation, daily. There is a reason why churches are closing and being absorbed by corporate structures that are “faith-based”. I got so much knowledge from her in those few years but I really need her now at 40. The only part we didn’t get to was her experiences with white folks. She gave little nuggets here and there. I still remember them but I’d love to interview her now. I see the world differently. Especially after doing 12 years in the military. The system is a well oiled machine that’s backed by money built off the backs of slaves. It has to be completely broken down starting at Congress.

I don’t believe your concern is rooted in evil intent, but I do believe there is ignorance here. I wish I could explain it in a way that would help, but I’m not able to verbalize it at this moment. I will say one thing. God is not the wrongdoer, so saying that he is not willing to die for the cause does not apply. The “olive branch” he is extending is not owed to us. His mercy is the only reason we received it. We are not owed anything

One thing I don’t like is when people try to ignore each others point, so to answer your question and give credibility to your point I will say as a human I would not send my son to die for a cause if I could go myself. So if your point is that you don’t agree with the logic, I can understand, but Kaelin’s point is not that we should go and send our sons to die and those are great fathers. His point is that God, our Father in heaven, wants good for us, unlike the “fathers” that did us wrong. I don’t expect you to comprehend how powerful sending His son for us is. However, if you seek him, genuinely, you will understand the significance.

@MarkTheChristian I understand your point. I just didn't think it addressed my point. Who do you have a greater obligation to, a bunch of strangers or your son. Keep in mind, brother, I wasn’t implying you ignored my point. I was letting you know that I want to make sure I addressed your point. I apologize if it seemed that way. Also, now we are in the space of “Should you believe in the Bible.” This is a beautiful space to be in. Mainly because you can do your research and realize there are too many things that suggest “why wouldn’t this be true.” I don’t think we will establish this in the comments section lol. I do want to say many times people look at the Old Testament and not realize it is mainly a history book showing how things were and why. It also shows us that we are doing and falling for the same stuff. There’s obviously a lot of other stuff there, but brother, the word is alive. Let God in while you are reading, and you will see what I mean. If only I could put it into words. God bless you.

First of all our slave master has allowed the immigrants in this country to put us in a economic strangle hold... A steady diet of information with no substance (action) is doing more harm than good... I really believe that it is time for black town hall meetings on these subjects.?.. Think about this??If every black person in america has different conclusions about our issues then that means that no one is right😊 And yes the majority is Wrong. How can a bunch of Johnny come lately tell black America about black america😊😊😊😊 IT is such that our greatest most brilliant black intellectual scholars have gave us the blue print... American slavery was the first capitalist slavery, and it was the most brutal form of slavery in human history. Capitalism did and still does exploit and abuse and make life misery for workers who get paid a pittance for 'slaving' in the owners factories and offices. African slavery was this form of capitalism taken to its logical conclusion. Yes, American slavery was by far the WORST slavery in human history.

It’s quite interesting how the gospel is for collective freedom yet start with individual freedom. So I resulted to focus on my individual freedom in Christ. To really partake in that freedom and fully live it out in my life. There then I will have a strong testimony. Yes, racism is real! It's as American as apple pie. There is so much one could unpack in your podcast. A mere comment here would not possibly do it justice. I pray that you keep your open mind. When you said biblical world view, you are me I drop that my 3rd year in college. because everyone is not gonna serve GOD. we do not live in a theocracy. I believe in GOD but I will not put God in a political realm. I fell for it, under the Study Of preachers like Tony Evans. Rod Parsley. RON Carpenter. John Hagee. Joel Olsteen, Bishop TD Jakes. Creflo Dollar. Bishop Eddie Long. Bishop GE Patterson. They all had a form of. teaching that was inside. of the what I call. white supremacy. Evangelical. teaching book. As black people, once we get. once we get saved and learn God for real we take that in for real thinking that that is going to be our anchor and the thing that moves political society in its wake. No, Sir. that will not happen. because God himself does not need our help. He will do it But what we can do is understand our plight in this country. And begin to move in the direction that helps our people. Now you sounded like me when I went. in my sophomore year college. I came out of high school speaking and thinking the exact same way you were. I did not see my behavior. I used to throw God as a solution for everything. Bishop Patterson used to say that you so heaven bound that you're no earthly good. I didn't know what that mean then, but I know but I know what that means now because When we take Christian worldviews and try to stamp it on a democracy or a Republic and try to make everybody come under that teaching. where no earthly good because every one will not use or be servants of our God, we don't. live in that nation, And when you say you used to debate people about the issue and used to be contrarian, you won't be in contrarian. You was being matter of fact I used to be that way. I used to be like these black people ain't like me In some ways you don't think you're that way, but you are that you were that way. You used to be like me. See you went to Stanford as a thing to go to school. I went to old Miss and when I tell you I walked in there with my head up because I was a Republican. I ain't even think about conservatism. But when I got into those books and I started. reading and understanding the plight of our people then. I understood I had to drop that but I. still love God. I had to drop that evangelistic ideology that comes from the evangelical whiteness in this country. Oh, this goes deep. I wish I had time. Brother, this goes deep. If you only knew that our parents didn't teach us black history cause that's why you didn't know a lot of things. They didn't teach us black history. They just taught you to be successful in America hoping that that would you make you usurp all of the racism that you would experience in this country. Oh, they failed us. Yes, they did unwilling. to say it now because I understand they went through so much through Jim Crow that they didn't want you to focus on race and by you not focusing on race it hurts you in a way because you cannot work in tandem as a group and that makes a lot of people marry outside of their racist I can see that but we don't see that because we think Love is love and God made all people and Blase Blase like we don't live in a white supremacist nation but that's beside the point cause I don't know if you believe that either but oh I'm writing too much OK let me stop. I'm sorry if you. want me to comment more I will but that's all. Thank you.

Also Kaelin, I don't think this was a Christian nation. I took this course my freshman year or undegrad called God and the Constitution which focused on the religious beliefs of the founding father. 9/13 colonies had religious provisions in their state charters following the declaration of independence and before the constitutional convention, by this I mean you usually had to be protestant to hold any state office. Most of the founding fathers claimed to be Anglican or Episcopalian. My professor thought this to be evidence that they were all Christains rather than deist as most claim. I believe something more sinister. I believe most of them were not Christian and that they just invoked Gods name but didn't truly know him. When you read some of the founding documents they sound religious in nature but we don't judge by words but by fruit. I'm sure some of them were believers (some only has to mean one) but I think the others just used the Lords name for their own selfish gain. That's why I also believe you start to see the Mormons, Jehovah’s witness’s and the idea of manifest destinty pop up. They were twisting the Word of God for their own selfish pursuits.

Not being proud of every single aspect of American history makes you an enemy to far too large of a % of conservatism for it to be a nuanced topic imo. You have to apologize for potentially sounding woke because anything short of revisionism is considered unpatriotic. It's an intentional action and we must realize not every person doing so is doing it because they were also simply regurgitating what they've been taught. Some of them aren't simply ignorant to the truth and awaiting an intellectual conversation to save them. Some of them know what they're doing and don't want you there. Some of them don't want to be corrected. This is one of my biggest critiques of American conservatism. I've had my own phase of believing we could simply have genuine conversations with one another. I originally came from such an upbringing so I vividly remember what the echo chamber of ideals felt like. How there's always an excuse, and the only compromise that exists is accepting their version of truth as gospel (regardless of whether or not there's a lick of reality behind it). There may be a messaging/listening issue on both sides, but we would all be foolish to assume that both sides are coming at this from equal grounds. While I'm more than willing to admit the left can profit off of white guilt, the other side of the aisle is seemingly still trying to debate the existence of racism, period. I'm sorry but I'm tired of trying to "both sides" a debate when one side is refusing to admit there's even a conversation to be had. There is a large demographic of Americans who have never heard of the history you shared in regards to chattel slavery or the history of gynecology. These people are willing to reject these truths entirely because they don't fit their world view, and they want to moderate our debate. It's not hard at all to find a home when you're willing to call out the truth in both sides, just take note of how each side responds to you. If one side simply disagrees with you as they allow you to exist in the space while the other threatens your fundamental existence, if not your life, I know which side I can call home. I vehemently disagree with the concept of abortion being infanticide. I believe it represents a fundamental misunderstanding of both abortion and the torture/infanticide our people have faced. That being said, I'm still never going to denounce your entire identity. I'm not going to view your history as a privilege I can willingly revoke from you. See how far you get as a black man simply willing to state that racism or generational wealth exists. Hell, see how far you get when you *don't* do these things in the first place and you're still met with a screaming car full of racists because you decided to exist.

Hey there awesome video. Enjoyed walking through your throught process. However one thing i see in the shift in definition of racism in reference to the book you mentioned, is the convesations i hear referencing the institutional argument seem to leave out some things or confuse some things. 1. The conversations tend to omit groups outside black and white. 2. Not all people that discuss racism in coversation or argument, know of a structural definition shift, so people tend to talk past each other using different definitions. 3. Acts such as name calling with explicit racial tones are still called racist but dont seem to denote a power backing. Even if the name calling is from another minority group, not a white person. Is often still called racist. 4. What about situations where ther are no black or white people involved and such acts we generally refer to as racist are committed. Are they no longer racist because there isnt an explicit power differential because its 2 minority groups and not white? Summarize: it seems to me blanket conversations about race and racism of this type seem to be bound by an american/european colonial context and blanketly define race and racism but seem to omit groups outside black and white. What do you think of this?

As one from the Caribbean living here in the US and a citizen, I have learned so much and come to a deeper understanding that I never could imagine and just thought I'd share with you this, especially since you have a very successful platform, maybe you can share your knowledge from all with others after knowing this. Also, I'm a traveler and have traveled to almost all continents learning different cultures and being around the locals in these countries to learn how does all play apart in what we as "Blacks" in the US experience today.

Christian is not really biblical. It was term used to belittle the disciples. They only referred to themselves as believers of Christ or followers of Christ.

You seem like a good brother, and you are correct when you call it straight down the middle. I would suggest listening to Neely Fuller Jr and possibly his book. He explains the system of white Supremacy. Keyword being system. Be blessed 🙏🏿

Come on sir...as much as I appreciate what you explain here for the weak hearted, let's also FACE the FACTS that not ONLY were our women r*ped, but ALSO our men and boys. I like the way you broke down your message in a much easier way for all to understand, but let's stop trying to explain to them the things they already know that they are still doing that are STILL CURRENT in our society by trying TOO HARD to spare their damn feelings! I DON'T CARE about their feelings. THIS IS WHY ALL OF US NEED REPARATIONS WHOSE FAMILY COMES FROM THOSE SLAVES...WE ARE OWED...THIS IS NOT A HAND OUT EITHER! #FBA #FoundationalBlackAmerica #ReparationsNow #B1 #BlackFirst #OpenYourEyes #RespectBlackAmerica

We're never getting reparations. They already have the money. And we won't see a dime.

You made it seem like you were conservative at first, but then called yourself a woke conservative, which is a contradiction. I'm black as well, but I'm a Christian and an American first. That's probably the biggest difference between us. I still heard you out though. I feel how you think white conservatives feel, and that because I'm actually conservative and my skin color doesn't impact me. Also went to see the movie. Newark, NJ. Thought it was funny as well! I have a cousin you remind me a lot of, which is why it's obvious to me where you land.

Thank you for speaking on this 😭🥹…We must advocate for ourselves. No one is coming to save us. We only have each other and God. That’s enough. Let’s support each other…I am sorry for your pain which is shared collectively.

Great video! You really articulated your point well. I really like the point you drove in about how people are allowed to speak about the things that were passed down to them but when it’s time to talk about what was not passed down, there seems to be resistance to hear that point of view. I really hope you stay consistent with this podcast. I’m a fan of you and Kyrah. I really appreciate you talking about the atrocities black women have had to face. I am African-American (biracial), but I have albinism so my worldview is a bit different but I still resonate with the black experience. I would say I lean towards the same political viewpoint as you. I know that you probably don’t want to touch on this topic but because of the video you put out during the pandemic talking about abortion, I feel like it’s fair to ask, has your view on abortion changed given the topics you touched on in this video? if not, do you feel more empathetic towards the situation that women are put in when it comes to conceiving a child after being SA. Regardless of your answer, I’m still a fan. Just curious.

I'm really not proud of how I shared my position (hence why I took that and every other episode down). I hurt people probably more with how I said things, than what I said. I don't regret doing it though. Sharing what I've shared through the years and seeing peoples' reactions have given me a unique opportunity to self-reflect and consider the merit of what so many people believe about me. That episode exposed some immaturity and ignorance that I have since worked to combat. Yet, in my further research I still stand on my original position. Albeit with a lot more empathy.

Christians were not people who followed God the creator. The disciples only identified as followers if Christ ir disciples of Christ.
