Eric Adams is the mayor of New York City, historically a position you do not even bother pursuing if you're not going to use it for corruption, enriching yourself and yours. Still, there is an expectation of class and subtlety whilst you use your position for misdeeds. Adams was a cop before becoming a mayor, and in the United States you don't have to be familiar with a single law to become one, and even when you learn them by chance you still get to break them belligerently and with great entitlement. What Adams essentially did wrong was to bring his belligerence and unapologetic noncommital to any rule or law to a political office, and as a result there are piles upon piles of evidence that him and his staff has created in regards to the corruption(for instance, they didn't even bother using burner phones. They did not bother being subtle when messaging those bribing them either). To make things worse for himself, he also insists on being black through all of this, which is a surefire way to wreck any chance of wiggling his way out now that he's caught. I'm not American either, but this particular story is hilarious, and I highly recommend researching it if for nothing else than for a laugh about how stupid and audacious the people involved are.

As the second biggest city of WA, it’s really made moves to up the quality of life in its corner of WA state, many thanks to increased community engagement and participation from the people of Spokane who have a vested interest in seeing it thrive.

Could the venue also be wheelchair friendly. I'm in one and have to remain in it all the time. Many venues have handicap seating but no space for someone confined to a wheelchair. On corruption, there’s a fascinating book called The Dictator’s Handbook, which is all about the built-in disincentives of NOT being corrupt in political leadership, which has different effects depending on whether it’s within a dictatorship system or a democracy system

@@mpettway6982 💯 Weekends are majority convenient for all ages to use the library. Definitely limits adult use given kids least have school libraries (I think this is still true), but weekdays majority adults work and that doesn't mean they have zero cause to go to a library. Any budget cut to learning, community, non-religious guidance, is red flag. But it's a late flag because they're already in the role to do those things. It's like if you said your husband showed a red flag... well damn.

Always enjoy the sets. My one quibble is Adams wouldn't go to Rikers but a Federal facility. Ironically, he could end up in MDC with Diddy, assuming they would send a sitting mayor to jail. But that would be a whole nother bit and Adams should be held accountable by all the people being held in Rikers, for sure.

I spent a whole 20 minutes last week explaining to my father (who doesn't live in NYC) the many reasons why I did not vote for, and cannot stand Eric Adams, and the last point I made was "and it's not even GOOD corruption - so now to top off everything else, I'm both upset because he did the corruption, and disappointed because he did it so poorly!" Watching this set made me feel so validated and seen, thank you 🤣🙏

I'm in Illinois. The current "problem child" is also a Mayor in Dolton. But we also had Lyin' Ryan (George Ryan, former Secretary of State & then Governor when he was busted) & Braggin' Blago (Rod Blagovich, former Governor who tried to sell Obama's Senate seat when he was elected President & Trump pardoned). We are no strangers to the corrupt politicians, and stupid ones at that. Eric Adams would fit in, unfortunately. Oops! Almost for got State Rep (or was he state senate 🤔🤷‍♀️ IDR) Jesse Jackson III & his wife for embezzling millions from the state & then trying blame his "bi-polar" disorder 🙄 Yes the Reverend Jesse Jackson's son. But in the "are you stupid" category for dumb shit famous people on trial in Illinois have said in court, the award goes to R. Kelly who tried to tell the Judge that the reason he missed a court date was because he is "illiterate" & couldn't read the paperwork. Our local News anchor struggled not to laugh while she did the court recap for the day. Her co-anchor was not so successful
