The thing that really bugs me about SBMM is that it robs of you some of the satisfaction of doing good, because you feel like you are hurting your future self. Like whenever I got a chopper gunner in the BO6 beta it was cool for a second until it hit me, SBMM is going to punish me for this.

@StayBlemwhat do KZbinrs have to do with this? I think the point here is that its sad that such an average kd (1.2-1.5) is a higher tier bracket. This proves that cod does very much cater towards noobs and below average players because they are the ones who just play super casually and oh maybe theyll spend some money in the shop because they are actually having FUN. Higher tier bracket players will (most of the time) spend money regardless. So why not cater to less average players; essentially gaslight them making them think they’re better than they actually are… so they’ll drop some money at the store. Absolutely insane system for public matches.

Ontop of that the gun you like that fits your playstyle is getting you smoked. No matter what you do timmy has the fastest ttk no recoil gun in the game and your going to lose even if you hit them first or miss at all. Thats what they did.

I went down from 1.3 k/d to a 0.55 k/d in BR while doing some challenges kind of intentionaly not trying at all and it still says i am > top 15% of warzone BR players worldwide it is actualy way worse than you think. Placement wise i am top 1% for playing it super safe 😂 Edit: I have 44 rounds played in BR and still am top 15% with a 0.55 k/d and that few games played which is even way worse than i thought.

I still don’t know why people play current COD multiplayer. Nobody plays the OBJ, your teammates are worse then you, the other teams is on pair with you, so you are top of your team, but winning is impossible. Lobbies disband, taking away any competition or community. You have to run low killstreaks, cuz there is no way you are getting anything else. You can’t use out of meta guns. You cant do goofy play styles. Every lobby is a sweatfest. Please somebody tell me why would you play multiplayer? Beyond doing camoes or leveling guns?

I'm that guy in the good lobby that always does really bad. It's only because I play with people who play everyday & are at 1.9kd or higher. So I'm stuck having an absolute MISERABLE time because it's a sweat fest & I'm just trying to get LMG camos shooting through walls all game. So yeah, I'm the bad teammate in high skill lobbies because my friends are 100x better than me and it is MISERABLE. I HATE playing with my friends. It's just... not fun. Negative every game. Nero, they outlined the lobby balancing in the last white paper. What they actually do is, instead of equally balancing the lobby by equally dividing players by skill, they “balance” it to give a 50/50 chance of winning. It exactly explains my experience. I’m a 2.5 kd player but I play mostly with my gf who has a .5 kd. EVERY SINGLE MATCH I lead the team by far, but we still lose about 70% of our matches. I have tons of screenshots of me going 50-5 but we still lose the match by 10 or so kills in TDM. So, if a higher skilled player is in lower (not lowest) bracket, they will put ALL the absolute lowest skilled players in the lobby on their team to make the chances of winning 50/50 for either team. My lobbies solo are borderline unplayable and as a completionist, I refuse to play solo. That said, either way, higher skilled players have to sweat.. by struggling to stay positive or carrying.

This happens to me but I only play solo. Still get teammates that don't know what a trigger is. Used to love seeing my KD go up in Bo2 (think I was around a 3.5kd) now when I see my 1.88kd go up I dread it. My teams only get worse and my enemies only get better. When I first started on mw3 I used to be enough to get wins now even going 45-3 running around like crazy trying to find enough people to win because we are still going to lose by 20 :/

@@Miss_Tsukiko I feel that pain. I almost always played solo til this year. My kd hovered around a 2.5-3 every year between BO3-BO4 then suddenly stuck at about a 1.7 from MW2019-MWII. I was ready to throw in the towel with CoD but was fortunate my gf got into it too. What makes it worse is not only the difficulty of the lobbies but connection quality too. When partied with her I NEVER have packet burst and hit detection is spot on. When solo, I have good ping but constant packet burst and hit reg issues. So not only do you sweat more solo but you’re also playing with a handicap. It’s funny cause you can tell a big difference with XD’s lobby balancing. My gf, who struggles in cod, does pretty well in XD. You can feel how the lobbies are evenly balanced with both higher and lower skill players.

@@ApsmneShsbshu No, there is a difference. The way XD currently and CoD used to balance was, essentially, putting an equal number of high, medium and low skilled players on each team. Think of it like putting all 12 players in order from highest to lowest skill then numbering 1-12. Then, putting all the odd numbers on one team and all even on the other. This in my opinion is the fair and balanced way. The way CoD does it now uses an algorithm to determine the outcome of a match based on performance and engagement. It will try to get the OUTCOME close to 50/50. So, in this case, imagine player 1 is the highest skilled by far. It will put players 8-12 (the ones on the lower end skill wise) on player 1’s team. Expecting player one to perform as well as previous performance thus having to carrying the team.

1.2 KD player here! The main thing I dislike about this matchmaking system is that if you take like a week off from playing the MP, when you come back they put you right back into literal hell. At least that's how my experience has been which has made it hard for me to get motivated to play the game because I just know I'm not going to get a good warm-up or a good first game of the day to build momentum.

I got a 1.22kd and level 500 back in February, i only just started playing mw3 again after trying out the bo6 beta. I can't be bothered to play multiplayer anymore. If they brought a reward system where you can earn Cod points for completing challenges & winning games then that gives me a reason to sweat. Right now im sweating against players using 3rd party devices for no reason... i can't be bothered with that anymore.

I had a very similar experience with a new account that I used for the Open Beta. I used my regular account that I’ve been using for years during the first weekend and had around a 1.4-1.6kd, then I used a fresh account when the beta came back and had a 2.4kd. I have footage of these matches as well but it literally felt like bots, people were not shooting back, they had awful movement, and often had hard trap playing in the background when they had their mics on. Night and day difference between the two accounts lol

I tried commenting on the post directly when it was first posted on Reddit but it wouldn't let me so I'm gonna say it here. There are esse finally different EOMM brackets that players will be assigned to and aren't solely based on skills. What happens essentially is you are assigned a skill brackets based on your engagement, how often you tend to quit marches or end the game session for the day. Since the game wants to keep you playing longer they will put you in different brackets to achieve their goals. Skill isn't necessarily a factor. For example I'm about 1KD, one of my friend is also 1KD but when I played on his account his lobbies were a bit easier, nothing extreme but noticeable. This because the game has a hidden MMR system like a ELO that is used to put you in these brackets. That's why we see players with sub 1KD and players with 1.5KD. The thing is a 1KD player isn't necessarily better than a 0.80KD or 1.2KD player because these 3 players could be on different EOMM brackets. If the game thinks you are more likely to quit and play less as a result it will put you on a lower bracket with easier lobbies overall and you could end up having a 1.2KD but if you're a player that never quits games and stays no matter what, the EOMM thinks it's already doing a good job so it keeps you in the same bracket, even if your KD is suffering. There are 0.80KD players that are significantly better than other 1.2KD players but since they're in different brackets they're KD is also different. One has easier lobbies then the other. If we only had a strict SBMM system everyone would be about 1KD with extremely rare exceptions.

that hidden eomm is actually provable in warzone, I often would jump into solo queue at the same time as housemate (same connection) we have identical k.d, yet only a handful of times could we actually get into the same lobby. I wont make this an essay, but we certainly explored this quite a bit and came to the conclusion that location and ping were weighted insignificant compared to last game performance. - Incidentally by queuing at the same time we were not seeking to gain an advantage, on the contrary the mission was always to kill each-other :D. But alas we only got a handful of times to actually try and see if we could legitimately meet each other in the final circle.

I’m currently a 1.28. I literally spawn into gunfire constantly. Like, red screen as soon as I spawn. I mostly play team deathmatch. Being spawned right in front of enemies with my back to them. On top of grenades. I’m not one to brag at all, but feel like I’m above average in COD. And the damn packet burst/ loss with fiber. Always right when I have the target in my sights. And I don’t know if anyone else has had this issue, but sometimes I will have them lined up perfectly, only for it to feel like my aim is being pushed away like 2 same polarity magnets getting close, that’s the best way I can explain it.

We need to stop using SBMM and EOMM interchangeably because they are so unbelievably different. SBMM is ONLY skill/ping based. EOMM is microtransaction based, and is a highly, HIGHLY predatory system built by PhD psychologists to give activision the highest possible chance of scamming you out of a skin or bundle, and if you don’t buy anything at all then EOMM will make sure you are constantly being put in the high brackets even if you’re an average player. The system literally punishes you if you don’t spend money.

When the devs say "SBMM has been in the series since CoD4" they're referring to this 8:00. This isn't the same as SBMM, per say, but by design, they do try to even out teams within the lobby itself in order to keep a match fair and try to prevent one team or player from totally dominating *when it's possible.* It's not always something that can be done, especially when people friends in a party of 3 and above, but this is confirmed have existed for a long time.

there wasnt any team balancing back then. the amount of blowouts matches i played back then in cod was crazy. i used to do the "70 kill challenge" on bo3 tdm and would always get close to 60+ kills in a game and it went up to 100.

After finding the closest players to your location, solo players with high KDR, W/L or accuracy were to be pitted against a team of above average players with decent stats in their local area, but your team in turn would be whoever it found to be crappier at the game. This is what NeroCinema is referring too. The three methods of breaking this system was to be playing with a party which negated this system, be so good at the game as a solo that a team of average players are still no match, *or* if the other people in the lobby in the region didn't have the prerequisite stats. If you've ever played a match and the game stated it was "balancing teams" despite the lobby being full, causing a delay for the match to begin, it was trying to find a way to even out the skill level of the teams but was struggling

I've taken CoD seriously since MW Remastered (when I first found your channel). My multiplayer KD is 1.6 and Warzone is 1.9. When I load into a respawn multiplayer match, I feel like the game takes into account that I need to carry my team. If I don't perform at my best, the team will most likely lose. Then I might play mediocre for 2-4 matches and have one game where I completely dominate the lobby with a 3 to 5 KD. It's also tiring to play against players who abuse certain cheese strategies that they need to use to win, like riot shields, grenade spamming, shotguns, and spawn sniping. But I also get why they do it; they meet sweaty players like myself and just want to win.

i hate this discourse so much because the people that are "able to chill and relax" are the 0.8KD players that are okay with going 20-19 or 18-23.... the higher tier players are NOT. that is a BAD stat.. they want a 40-20 at LEAST.. "back in the day we were just able to chill and have fun" - your definition of fun in COD is being able to dominate the lobby without having to try/sweat and still going ultry positive... you demand this back at the cost of lower skill players having fun at all in this game. thats why player retention is so good with sbmm.. players that arent obsessed with high KD and im talking 2.0 and higher, are having fun going 20-20 at the end of a match and the odd 25-15. but the loud crowd on reddit that hates sbmm is not okay with these stats. they want stomping back. this "i want to chill" sentiment so fricking dishonest and i hate it. ADMIT that you want other players to get shit on, just so YOURE have more fun with the game. also WHAT do you want? do you want "chill" lobbies where theres also a lot of bad players on both teams? sometimes more in your team than in the enemy team? or do you want a balanced experience; ie. where most players are going for the win aka "sweating" ??? which one is it ?? cod very foundation (sadly) is that a single kill is so easy that getting one isnt giving you any excitement only huge streaks etc do. thats why killstreaks even exists, wich is a bad mechanic anyway if you think about it: youre already so much better than your opponents that you beat most of them in most gunfights, and then you are rewared with a wallhack mini map and a huge gunship to shit on even more than you already are???

As an almost 2kd player that works full time and only plays a couple hours a week, cod is no longer a game I can go to have a fun chill time. Punished for being competent at the game so only get matched with sweaty ranked play kids that only use the most meta loadouts and skins. For the people that will say “get gud”, think if you’re playing the campaign but you can only keep the difficulty on veteran and can’t change it.. when you’re up for the challenge it’s fun but when you’ve just worked for 10 hours and want to squeeze a couple matches in before bed then it just feels like bs

What most of the critics often forgot: There is zero benefit in beeing good or becoming better in COD anymore. In the older CODs it was the total opposite: the longer and better you play, the faster you earn prestige, camos etc. Actually its more or less even for everyone. You‘re bad? No problem, you are garantued as much kills as the good ones, cause you play against your skill opponents over and over. That the good or very good player as to sweat for his life to earn 10 kills doesnt matter. On top of that: If you want to try a different gun, you get punished. You have to choose the meta weapons of you want to compete well - otherwise you loose. There are so many issues with SBMM in COD, a game that is designed to be casualy and not for professional gaming like CStrike. And I totaly agree: Im bored out. I even didnt played the BO6 Beta and wont buy COD anymore. Im really out. Sad to say

I'm an older gamer (57), but have managed to hold a 1.41 KD with over 135,000 kills. When I first jump online I get 1-3 good fun games and do well, then the SBMM gets ramped up and it's a sweatfest every game.

Being the solo good player on a team always gets me. Its down to standard team balancing. There also was a point in time when i as convinced that my team mates were bots of various abilities that have the specific goal of making games closer/aka more competitive.

If you play solo, it’s a nightmare. It’s a different beast playing individuals of your skill level and playing a party of people at your skill level. And because of SBMM it incentivizes you to party up. I like to play solo often and it’s not easy. After the Beta I went back to BO4 and man what a relief. Such a more enjoyable experience.

for the beta, i decided to make a brand new account and test it out for myself. the very first game nobody was using omnimovement. the other players did shoot back but it wasnt anything like ive played in previous cods recently. i got around 40 kills and about 10 deaths just casually running around and shooting. the very next game after that, i was put into lobbies with people sliding, diving off stairs, using omnimovement and felt like i was back on my original account all cause my first game i had a decent/good game. idc if anyone else buys the game but that gave me all the confirmation i needed to keep away from this franchise another year.

The SBMM made me stop playing around the WW2 timeframe. I used to have a near 3.0 kd. As soon as the SBMM ramped up. I could barely hold a 1.0 kd. In the original MW2 fame, I was in the top 500 in the world and I played nothing but hard-core free for all. I almost always used pistols and melee weapons. Newer CODs are a joke and not worth buying anymore.
