Opinions are opinions. Personally I love the empress of light boss, both visually and fighting her. Do I think the attacks could be a little more unique? Yes. Do I think that she could have a more significant role in the game's progression? Also yes. But I genuinely love the boss. But I can see why it may fall short for a few people

I don't like EoL either, but I'm mostly just against bullet hells. Giving the player such OP movement takes away everything interesting that could have been a challenge, forcing everything into the same bullet hell style.

Honestly, I mostly just hold a grudge against EoL because when I fought her in my first 1.4 playthrough, I heard people talking how this is the hardest boss in terraria, and then poof. This thing's easy, daytime or not. Also, the design's pretty basic. People who like it either are just horny or don't realise that the "smile" is actually her nose. Other than that, it's a pretty mid fight, just doesn't really fit terraria. Oh, and also, the commentary on the first video is absolutely hillarious and I love it.

Honestly, shes pretty difficult... in the console version where its super zoomed in and you can barely see the attacks. Otherwise, duke fishron is harder, and a way better boss.

you make a good point in the video regarding dozens of shaders not familiar with what those are exactly, but i can infer based on the clues provided for me personally, empress of light seems to be an improvement upon standard projectile spam (which you can find in moon lord + calamity) didn't feel like a precursor to the bullet hells you'd find on the modded seen but ye i'd go with terraria doesnt really have good bosses AT ALL, just interesting concepts for a fight at best all g, the community doesnt want em either so I'd expect the push back. If you didnt criticize infernum, there'd probably be a great many dismissing your critiques as mere opinions and telling you to sit in the modded terraria corner if you want something better. agency also feels like a false metric to judge the boss by but the usefulness of drops was a good one

These people aren't here to change your mind Portal Mech, they and I want to hear a more substantial arguement against the empress of light, of which I do not think you provided, you didn't back up your points with the most well thought out arguments, e.g you call her boring to dodge, yet a boss like plantera is way more boring and just an actual test of your ability to fly in a circle, I would like to hear some more balanced points against her, your video's tone and editing also come across as too negative and unproductive to discuss flaws, so you got hate, you can do better.

I agree with the video. EoL just feels out of place in terraria. You have all of these wacky looking bosses using their bodies in creative ways to attack the player, and then theres just EoL, a big fairy who uses her hand to spawn projectiles. Dunno what tf you're yapping about "shaders" though.

@@aniketr341 eye of cthuhu is also just "walk to there to win" because it is so stupidly easy to dodge him if you just get hermes boots and run. Eater and Destroyer you kinda just walk back and forth (if you're on the surface for eater) and occassionally switch platforms, king slime you just kinda run away until he teleports and when he does so you can likely just stand on the same platform and walk back and forth occassionally, also the most boring fight in every custom difficulty except eternity. Queen Bee you just switch platforms for her dashes and run away during different attacks. Deerclops we don't talk about deerclops, Wall of flesh is just a boring dps test and I hate the fight so much especially in calamity, the only time I wouldn't say it's painful is once again in eternity. Queen slime is cancer in vanilla, Skeletron prime you just kinda destroy his hands meanwhile circling him and then when you destroy his hands just run away from him when he spins and that's it, twins you just walk away meanwhile going up and down and then in spaz's second phase you run away from him even more and then retinazer is just kinda easy, golem you just walk back and forth to win, empress of light and duke fishron are some of the only bosses you need to dodge but even then cthulhunados and sharknados make the fight just straight up a spike bed, moon lord yeah just kinda run away. That's kinda it. Also love infernum and eternity

bro i used to respect you for youre mod until i actually played it, its just terrible! you were calling EoL a "generic boring bullet hell with fancy shaders" jut look at your own mod all of it is just that generic bullet hell plus all of the bosses require WAY too big of an arena wich is very annoying cause some of us dont want to destroy our entire world just to fight a singular boss. also the shimmer worm just sucked i couldnt even build a proper arena cause it spawns whenever you enter the shimmer, also locking the shimmer behind such a difficult boss is just stupid as its not even worth beating it

I wasn't annoyed about his opinions, I was annoyed about the parts that were objectively false. The empress of light has good weapons, the melee has incredibly high dps at close range which can be useful, the bow is a pretty good bow, and the whip is one of the best in the game. People have different likes when it comes to aesthetics and boss attacks, but I get annoyed when people act like or state that their opinion is a fact.
