Laventon is literally wearing a Nepalese sherpa hat. Hes wearing his culture on his head. His ancestry is definitely from an Indian inspired area. It could be a situation where he has a parent from galar and parent from this unnamed indian region if we assume analogous history with the poke world to our world. Which sort of lines up due to Hokkaido references in hisui

I think looking at Laventons skintone and then at irl british indians tells us what the situation is He or his parents immigrated from the india region to Galar- alot of british indians call India their motherland and that could easily be stretched to 'homeland' like he says in the game

I mean withought getting to into like the not so great history of it all, The UK and India have always had a lot of connections. Obviously India was a former colony of the British Empire but also here in England we have a lot of people from Indian backgrounds. This can be seen in the Curry Dex in Galar as Curry is traditionally a more Indian food but is also super popular in the UK and is one of (if not the ) most commonly eaten dishes in the UK. This doesn't relate to Kamado much but I do think having Indian things in Galar makes a lot of sense and it is perhaps people from a poential Indian Region that brought Kopperajah to Galar.

Now that you mention Sumo and Cianwood city, HGSS expands on the Whirl Islands, saying they used to be a single island that was disputed by 2 countries, causing Lugia to intervene and split the islands by force. There is no specific time period for this event but perhaps Kamado was part of this event, the islands are in the middle of mainland Johto and Cianwood, which seems to be from a different landmass.

It would make sense that he would be either from Cianwood city or Olivine city, seeing as both cities are connected to the sea (Olivine even has a port in modern day Johto) and funnily enough, the secret medicine used in Legends arceus to cure psyduck headache is produced by apothecary in Cianwood, but the request tells you to ask about how to make the medicine in Jubilife city.

Just pointing out, you technically can't get snorlax in johto. Also, you never touch on Beni and Kamado having Japanese names. Laventon, who is specifically not from the same area as Kamado and Beni, has more of an English name, reinforcing the theory he is from Galar. Granted, he (or his family) could have moved from one region to a second before Kamado came to Hisui, but in that is pretty rare today, let alone back then with limited forms of transportation, unless you were one of a specificallynomadic group. Kamado doesn't strike me as being a nomad.
@finalbossbowser2 жыл бұрын
While I'm not fully convinced that the burning of the Brass Tower is the event that destroyed Kamado's village, him being from that area makes sense because they are close to the port areas. The Galaxy Team arrived by sea, which at first glance rules against Johto being where they are from because we already know that Sinnoh and Johto are connected thanks to the Sinjoh Ruins in the HGSS Arceus event. But both maps show an abundance of mountains between the areas.where they would connect, mountains that would be near impossible for a group like then Galaxy Team to pass, so boat would be a better travel option. I think they either first traveled to Cianwood Island or were even from Cianwood. One way or another, they decided this island wouldn't be a good fit for them, either because this is where Kamado's village was destroyed, they had trouble getting resources, or the area was already settled. They knew about the land to the north, so they sailed west from Cianwood curving up north until they found Prelude Beach.

And given Laventon also knows about the Ride Pokémon in Alola, he seems to be well-travelled, so it's not surprising that he's from somewhere else compared to Beni and Kamado.

@safidraws2 жыл бұрын
Actually there is a posibility that would make sense for the idea that Kamado went to a diffrent region before. He was a refugee. Lets go with the idea that he is from Johto (Personally I think it's likely Johto and Kanto were one region at the time to be honest but that's not the point), if Johto had business relations with Galar at the time and there was war or some sort of calamity (Like a bunch of Pokemon suddenly attacking villages) Galar temporarily taking these people in as refuges would make sense. It would also explain how the Galaxy operation even got founded. It wouldn't make sense for the same region that can't rebuilt or rehome people after a pokemon attack to be able to afford a colonial operation to that scale. It also would explain why Cyleen and Laventon seem to be the next ones in the official chain of comand, they both have somewhat english names implying they are most likely from Galar.
@sukaisage2 жыл бұрын
@@safidraws I agree, but the team hierarchy doesn't work as you described at the end; Commander Kamado oversees the whole thing. Beni acts as his secret right hand. I think one very apparent thing that points to Komado being from well...a japanese village, is the fact that he has a japanese name and Beni is very clearly a Ninja and there is a Ninja themed Gym in Kanto, just one region over. I don't really buy the time frame to be just 150 years, it just doesn't really make sense to me considering the amount of terra forming there had to take place for modern Sinnoh to even remotely look that way. It's also to note that he specifically stated a pokemon destroyed his town. While some retellings of the myth say Lugia caused the storm, I doubt that's something the people at the time would have been privie to. I think it's more likely that it simply was a angry pokemon that reacked havoke in the village, perhaps after it's habitat got destroyed. Also I think a war being involved still holds up. In X and Y we learn about two canonical wars that Kalos participated in. One that took place 3000 years ago and one that took place 300 years ago. I think it could very well be that Johto and Kanto were involved in the later due to business relation's with Galar which was most likely also involved in said war. It's also not likely that Komado immediately went to Hisui to built a new home either. What I think probably happened was that he and Beni became refuges in Galar where they served in the military and Komado after the war got married. I personally don't think it makes much sense that he lost his wife, because 1. why wouldn't Beni mention that, litereally this game has not been shy about stuff like this and 2. Not only do we not see his wife, we also don't see his kids in the village, he's a direct ancestor of professor Rowan so he needs to have had a child at one point. He seems to be already in his late 30 to early 40 and I don't think he would be the type to remarry very soon after losing his wife. I think it's most likely that his wife is in Galar, probably set to join him once things are more stable. Maybe she even has a newborn child and therefore it's too dangerous for her to join him in Hisui until said is older. There don't seem to be any babies in the village, not even any mentions of any. Granted that could be because they didn't want to make any models for them, but that's still a interesting thought.

When you mentioned Johto, I immediately remembered that anime/manga often localize kansaiben with southern accents or thuggish/rude accents, like Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh who doesn't use honorifics at all and was given a Brooklyn accent. Kamado could be from Kyoto (Ekruteak City) and thus speaks with Kansaiben, but became a samurai, moved to Edo (Saffron CIty) and got married but tragically lost everything to a rampaging Pokémon as stated by Beni. It doesn't need to be a Gyarados but it could still be if Kamado had confided it in Laventon and didn't want everyone knowing his past. Fuchsia City is close to Saffron City and ninjas were often hired by the samurai as spies or assassins.
@Iskaid2 жыл бұрын
@CP D2191 I don't know, just stating the fact that in the Galarian Armour, Kamado looks like he could be a samurai. Ninjas are a staple in the games already whether it be the ninja kid trainer class or Koga and Janine referring to themselves as ninjas and using techniques to confuse and poison your team. Assassination. The move Night Slash is based on a ninja technique in which they would hide on the side of the road and slash a passerby with a new blade to test it. The only place time the context is hidden is with localisation.
@danielmalinen63372 жыл бұрын
But what pokemon destroyed Kamado's home village? I think the key to solving this mystery is Pokedex - or its dex entries about Gyarados, the most ferociously violent Pokemon. These entries tells us how, in the ancient times, one huge and vicious Gyarados enraged and rampaged for months. It annihilating entire city, destroying all with hot Hyper Beams and turning everything to ashes - until it had demolished everything around it and left only blazing ruins in its wake. And any place where Gyarados appears is fated for doomed and therefore people call it as “the deity of destruction.” And then the another thing. The ghost girl - who gives us the Odd Keystone - tells us that Spiritomb was first sealed years (note the plural) ago and our job is to sealed it again. So, in PLA, we are not sealing Spiritomb for first time in history as some fans suspect.

There is also no information on the website to suggest this proposed connection. How can we be sure that the town mentioned in Gyarados's dex entry in PLA is referring to the Lake of Rage? Gyarados could have rampaged before then as well. The Burned Tower was struck by lightning during a storm. Unless a wild Pokémon kicked up a storm or struck it with that lightning, it was a natural cause. Plus, Tin Tower was still standing; Ecruteak as a whole was not destroyed. If his wife/her family was from Galar, that would make sense why he has the armor (and wearing a suit in the photo) even if he isn't from Galar himself. If Legends Arceus takes place roughly 150 years ago, it would make sense based off real world history, too. I've got a theory that Legends Arceus came about because they were going to make Sword and Shield like this, they couldnt quite finish the engine/machanics in time and ended up using Sun and Moons engine on Switch for Sword and Shield instead because they wouldnt get the game out in time. Alot of the houses in Legends look quite Galarian but touched up to be Hisuin and the Galarian Weezing would have been added to this town early days and they just rolled with it. This explains Legends Arceus coming out pretty soon after and only having one town area, its a beautifully made Sword and Shield beta, touched with with a great story. Then when they finally got the hang of the engine and assetts they were excited to reveal Gen 9 in this style and that's why we got it so soon.

I think you're wrong. Laventon is Literally saying "My homeland". Its possible that he is from india, but moved to the UK at somepoint in his life or that his family is originally from there and he was born in the UK. Copperajah is an indain pokemon confirmed by the Raichu dex entries. Considering this is a few hundred years in the past i think its safe to assume somewhere between legends arceus and SwSh that copperajah and its preevolution were brought over to the Uk and now they're native there or at least a sizable amount exist in that region.

What if he is from the town that got destroyed by arceus in the movie arceus and the jewel of life. He looks like Damos from the movie and The movie has many parallels with the game raging arceus(alpha pokemon)/ancestors/time travel/space time destortions AND THE ENDING IS THE CHARACTERS LOOKING AT THE SUNSET JUST LIKE IN DAYBREAK
@breezyvgc2 жыл бұрын
Maybe at some point after the canon of Legends: Arceus, Komado is sucked into a space-time distortion and transported to the G/S/C/HG/SS period, and resides in Ecruteak city for nostalgic reasons, and has just kind of been living out the rest of his days in his new home. Also his team can be closely linked to Ecruteak city. Geodude can be commonly found in Mt. Mortar, slightly east of the city. Ecruteak has connections with the sky in the 2 towers, and according to the Pokédex Clefairy fell from the sky. Heracross appears from headbutt on route 42, the route directly east of Ecruteak. Hisuian Braviary is a Psychic and Flying type Pokémon, identical in typing to Lugia, which the Brass tower was built to worship. Snorlax, when you beat it, "lets off a big yawn and returns to the mountains", meaning theres a possibility it lives somewhere in Mt. Mortar, though not specified in the games.

I don't think you're quite right, but I think you're definitely close Beni and Kamado are definitely from Johto based on essentially everything you said, especially the Pokeballs. My theory is that the town they're from, just doesn't exist in the modern day, hell it no longer exists as of the ending of Arceus. Where in Johto it was, I couldn't say, but my personal theory is that there was a war between Kanto and Johto, which resulted in casualties for both sides, destroying towns and lives, including Kamado's wife seen in a picture on his desk, which caused the survivors to see no option but to flee the region, lest Kanto would destroy their villages again. They travel north to a region talked of in rumours, a region with deep connections to Johto, referred to as Hisui. (I'm referencing the Sinjoh ruins here) On their journey north, they start figuring out how they'll handle their new life, and create the Galaxy Team, and Laventon becomes aware somehow, asks to join as a researcher (or is asked maybe? I personally think Laventon is an experienced researcher who travels a lot, but just sucks at getting close to Pokemon. Being from Galar, he wouldn't have as much knowledge as Johto-born characters, thus pokeballs are even newer to him than Kamado, and regions like Unova, being America, just haven't had the technology shipped over yet) Upon reaching where they decide to settle and research, Kamado attempts to seal away his past, hence not seeing the armour and speaking in a more "neutral" dialect, and news of the new civilisation starts to spread back to Johto, and even Kanto (such as the clefairy quest guy), Alola (from the A-Vulpix quest), and possibly even Hoenn, Galar beyond Laventon, and Kalos. I think Unovans are too up themselves at this point in time to come over, since NY to Hokkaido is a pretty long trip, might as well just travel their own massive country. With the creation of the Origin Ball, Pokeball technology starts to evolve further than the apricorn style seen in this game. More modern technologies are created and intergrated, making harder to make by hand balls, eventually only highly skilled craftsmen like Kurt can do it, otherwise you need mass produced balls from Silph, Devon, or whatever the company in Kalos was called (did they get a name?). The reason the Origin Ball sparks it, is the concept of "what other materials can pokeballs be made of" But yeah, that's more or less what I'm seeing so far, excited to see more, and perhaps even learn more about other regions yet to be seen, like Copperajah's homeland referenced in SwSh (which is seperate from Laventon's homeland where Copperajah reside)
@thisisachannel.7802 жыл бұрын
i personally like to think that laventon came from copperajah’s original homeland since copperajah’s pokédex says the galarian forms traveled to galar long ago

Similar to how in Gen 2, we had to give Kurt a black apricorn for ultra balls or a pink one for the love balls… I was disappointed we only got a generic apricorn to use to create all the balls on Arceus.

I think, assuming that Copperajah is a Galar Pokémon is a mistake. As we had both introduced before and after have different homelands than were they first appeared. Think the Bellsprout tower in Gen 2, or all the Dark types in the Kanto region. Likely Copperajah was imported to Galar during its Colonization period. Its also mad to assume that every character is a direct link to a current character. Instead they may just share a past ancestor. Example of this outside Laventon is Beni. Alot of people immediately got Wally but for me I saw Aaron of Sinnoh E4. Or how many get May from Palina, but I get Glacia. Then there is Gaeric whom looks closer to Brawley original design before they gave him a beach tan like Marlin.

I always thought he was from kanto, given that many of those that traveled with him have/had or knew of kanto pokemon. The biggest example to me is the bandit sister, charm, who likely came from the galaxy team unlike the other two, as they incorperate parts of the other clans in their clothing. Charm also has two kanto pokemon that link her to both agatha from kanto's elite 4 (gengar) and bertha from sinnoh's (rhydon). But being that kanto and johto are so close historically, it would make sense if she came from either region and kamado came from johto.
@MatmanG1052 жыл бұрын
He could have been from Jhoto originally then went to Galar where he got his armor. Then his village burned down causing him and everyone he met there to go to the Hisui Region. It would link up with your other theory. I just can’t see him moving due to the tower being burnt maybe he moved to Galar when he met his wife? Could explain the picture looking so formal and the armor being a gift?
@matthewdavenport95492 жыл бұрын
@Dojo Breaker why are you commenting this on so many replies, and from two different accounts? Your theory is plausible. But, it is honestly just too cheap to really seem like something GF would come up with. You also keep mentioning "it says a lot about his character" Buy, Kamado has shown he is a very respectable figure. He only banishes you from the town because of his fear that someone he has given agency to has brought about a calamity that could kill everyone he is supposed to protect. Then when he is proven wrong he shows you respect and asks for his forgiveness in a way to show exactly how humiliated he is. His character is extremely strong and absolutely in no way a facade. Beni as a ninja wouldn't have followed some lowly farmer across the ocean and just watch him run everything.

What I find interesting/irritating depending on the day is that legends arceus makes pokeballs with only one kind of apricorn but various minerals, where as from what we knew the apricorn colour was the important part of what type of pokeball it was, also, revives are a sort of amber/ resin? That have nothing to do with revival herbs?
@Iskaid2 жыл бұрын
Regarding the apricorn balls, it could be that only brown apricorns grew in hisui and the various tumblestones provided weight (or lack thereof) and nothing more. If I remember correctly, Kurt's balls were more modernised, fitting the apricorn with the technology needed to sync with the PC while retaining the desired effect. That may also be why the effect of the original heavy ball changed between 120-140 years ago and 22 years ago, the black tumblestones were replaced with BLK Apricorn

I am SO glad a big name theorist is finally putting to bed that Kamado is Galarian. like, the number of people who look at this jet black haired, kimono-wearing and Japanese-name-having man (as well as the Literal Ninja also with a very Japanese name) and insist he's actually a white/western dude. like, really? half of this game is about people traveling to the Hisui region from other places and yet some people really be acting like he too couldn't have started in a different region, as if you can only move countries once. I think the real story is that he started in Johto, likely with Beni, and then together moved to Galar, where Kamado met his wife (noted by what looks like a wedding photo on his desk which is in western clothing), and it's a town there that was destroyed by raging pokemon (likely dynamaxed pokemon, and likely that ruins leading up to the snowy city that had the arceus plate and no other explanation on what happened or why it was there) where he also lost his wife, and so he has now made it his life's mission to make a safe town where no one has to fear for their lives from pokemon, where no one has to suffer loss like he did. plus, another sign that having that armor doesn't inherently make you Galarian is that we know it from Wikstrom, who tells us his family through and through is 100% Kalosian, and so is his armor, which is a family heirloom. one or the other (or both) could be mistaken about the origins of their armor, or it could be a retcon. but I don't think the lorekeepers at gamefreak would do that. I think there's more to it than just "everyone's actually Galarian". I find that idea to be super lazy tbph, and I'm so happy to finally see someone looking more into it instead of jumping to very weird conclusions.
