I am 50 years old, and have been a life-long Chiefs fan. I know what it is like to be a Die-hard fan for so long - Bill Kenney was the starting QB when I was a kid - and they drafted in the first round Todd Blackledge, who was such a disaster - that it took almost 30 years for the Chiefs to draft a QB in the fist round again. But, what a Gem they found in hiring Andy Reid as our Coach and drafting Patrick Mahomes!!! The Chiefs routinely fell into that Playoff "Quicksand" where year after year - you just knew something was going to go wrong - or really weird to break my heart again. But, I still loved them no matter what - & I was always sad that the rest of the Nation thought Kansas City was second-rate cow town, and we were never on Monday Night Football, and I couldn't understand as a kid why the TV Networks ever talked about the Chiefs, because I was always proud of my Hometown area. Marty-Ball came to town in 1989, and he and Carl Peterson were really responsible for building the Kansas City fan base & making Arrowhead Stadium the magical place that it is to play today. 5 years ago, after all of the Playoff heartache, - I had accepted that I may live my whole life and never see them even play in a Super Bowl .... and look where they are now!! I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT take any of the Chiefs current fortunes for granted. I really hope the Chiefs winning will continue in which one day we may challenge the Cowboys, Steelers, 49'ers, Packers and Patriots that are considered that "ELITE" status.

Florio I like your take on Mahomes, however the reason Mahomes blew a gasket wasn't because of the call of some reciever having a toe across the line it was because an epic play that would have gone down in History as one of the best catch and throws got taken away from Kelsey. If that play stands it would have been the best play of the 2023 regular season and would have been talked about for YEARS instead it ends up in the Trash Bin.

We ran the ball, made big plays, except one mistake at goal line .. and as they say in the NFL Defense WINS Championships! #1 ravens defense vs #2 chiefs defense should be epic AFC Championship Game!! ❤️Go Chiefs! ✌️

Nobody talked about how Patrick Mahomes is healthy this postseason for one and two the Chiefs defense always seems to step it up. Come playoff time with that said the Chiefs never had a defense like this. I want to know if everyone’s gonna blame the ref if the Chiefs beat the Dolphins, then the bills and ravens on the road just to face the big daddy of the NFC if it happens to be the San Francisco 49ers! I don’t wanna hear shit if it plays out like that, Patrick Mahomes is done is simply incredible

It's possible that ANDY REID put 10 men on field for that 4th down apparent FG (to entice Buffalo to audible a fake upon recognizing Chiefs were short 1 man), knowing that his Chiefs Defense was ready to crush a fake. Seems to have been enticed by design -- just reading between the lines hearing Chiefs players discuss the play.

Simms is correct about the Chiefs turnaround from the Christmas Day meltdown game. That's not ancient history, less than a month ago. They flipped the switch over the final 30 minutes of their game against the Bengals and continued playing well in the playoffs against Miami & Buffalo. Hard to believe they made the Final Four this year considering how bad they looked at Christmas.

@cmagnusnorthfleet98111 ай бұрын
Well said Chris. Let's make it simple for those simple thinkers out there. The Chiefs have something the others don't. They have faith. When they see Andy on the sideline and Patrick under center they believe they can win they just believe. No moment is too big no situation is too hard. The greater the pressure the more they like it. Go Chiefs.
@robertgellert132511 ай бұрын
The final 2 minutes reminded me of the 2012 AFC Championship game where Lee Evans dropped a potential winning TD in the final minute, then on 4th down Billy Cundiff was wide left on a short field goal that would have sent the game to overtime. Maybe history will repeat itself and Buffalo will win the Super Bowl next year much like the Ravens did the following year.
@shanenelson581111 ай бұрын
I think we all need to rethink what classifies a franchise as a dynasty. 6 straight AFC title games, 3 Super bowl appearances in 5 years, and 2 victories in those 3 appearances? Is damn close. They are definitely a dynasty in my opinion win or lose this next weekend. I'm saying that as a Broncos fan! Me and my wife and her family all live in the Kansas City area. So, it's always interesting at family functions listening to them talk about their team. Even they are always so pessimistic about their own chances. I hear other fan bases talk way more arrogantly than any of them. They are always still talking negatively and worried about the Chiefs. They had been traumatized by the past. But, that said? This is a dynasty in my own humble opinion. When Reid leaves? I'm going to be the most curious about what happens.

@@travisbrown8669 It's crazy everytime we all get together on the weekends and I'll just be sitting there eating and drinking a beer watching all of my wife's family fret over a game that they shouldn't be worried about in the least. I don't know how you guys do it. You guys all need to have the blood pressure medication prescribed. I've never seen anything like it. I've not heard one of my Wife's family members confidently say "It's going to be a cakewalk. We got this." Contrary to what a lot of other fan bases believe currently that you guys are unbearable, boisterous, flamboyant, and arrogant? You guys have probably handled yourselves better than any other NFL teams fanbases have when they were in the midst of a "dynasty" like run. I hate the Chiefs. But, I admire the greatness of the coach, QB, and TE. It's always fun to watch them. Sad that Kelce is probably nearing his end here in the next couple of seasons.

As a Chiefs fan I’ve been saying for the past couple years that it’s almost like they purposefully make themselves the underdogs because it gives them more motivation…everyone always says they’re favored every year which might be true at the beginning of the year but I think people forget that like halfway through the season they have a game or a couple games where they don’t play like themselves and everyone thinks they found the answer to stop them but then they’re right back in the fight. Like last year it was Tyreek being gone and so everyone thought we couldn’t get it done with just Travis and we did. The 49ers defense a couple years ago was supposed to be so good that Patrick would have a hard time scoring and he didn’t he went and won the game. The only two playoff games I can remember where they were favorites was the loss to Cincinnati in the AFC Championship and the loss to Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl and I think that says something about my theory.

The Bills lost not because of Allen because he done everything mostly right. Mahomes is a just a beast and always goes up a notch when it comes to play-offs. His just different and finds solutions. Chris Jones and the defensive team have been on it this season. While the offense has fumbled and dropped the ball, the defense has been outstanding
@stillersfan0811 ай бұрын
Its like playing Madden how they flip the switch. Sometimes you get fancy bc you're so good and it ends up costing you sometimes. But once its playoffs you lock in. Nothing but bread and butter plays, and doing whatever to not turn the ball over. Mahomes truly playing madden in real life lol.
