Well, Radiophobia 3 is a hard core Stalker mod, usually recommended to play after the original SoC. I beat it but it took me a while too

Hey man, thanks for the comment. Indeed, I thought about playing the vanilla game. I bought it but then, after some research, I saw the Anomaly and GAMMA mods and tried to find something that sticks relatively close to the main story line but also provides some of the QoL improvements. Definitely hyped for Stalker 2, lets see how my hardware will manage!

@racoo92 RP3 is okay to followup SoC with some additional story. But Clear Sky and Pripyat, you can go with total mod overhaul over the original games, just search and there are on moddb. Also, finishing them, try to consider Lost Alpha (could be played instead first SoC too) and if you still want some old Stalker, Anomaly Custom is way to go. But I think that the first three is one to be done before Stalker 2. Have fun.

You have should played and completed atleast the shadow of chernobyl vanilla experience, is a classic stalker game, usually mods ruin your experience of the vanilla one

Yeah I downloaded a weight increase for vanilla stalker back when it came out and it ruined the experience. Always having tons of ammo and carrying like 20 guns completely took away the tense feeling the game was set up for. I deleted it after about 30.

I think it’s a prtty good choice because R3 sticks to the vanilla story but adds a lot of quality of life and side mission to it although many give up and don’t finish R3 because of the dificulty of R3 is hardcore compared to vanilla.
