Welcome back friends to the Yappy Beeman KZbin channel. I thank you for stopping by and allowing me to share some of my bee removal adventures.
As a beekeeper and experienced remover, I tend to see a wide variety of weird situations that honey bees get into. Most things don't surprise me like what I found at this location. Sadly, when I spoke to the homeowner, I knew I was in for a mess based on what they told me but I wasn't ready to find what I did in this garage in North Alabama. This home had a colony of bees move in a few years ago and they didn't realize they had an issue until one day they walked out and found thousands of dead bees all over the floor and windows. Unfortunately one day when the garage door was down, the bees found a way out through the garage wall and did what they naturally do and went to the light of a window. They met the invisible forcefield we call glass and had no way to get out. What happened after that was a sad mess. Thankfully though, they called me to investigate and I found the source of the bees and was able to safely relocate the rest of the hive of bees and comb to a safe location in the country away from city life.
If this video seems familiar to a few of you, well you may be right. This is a re-edit from my video I posted a few years back and wanted to update the edit and re-share for some of the new folks. So, I hope you enjoy it the second time around and look forward to what's coming up next on the channel.
I hope you enjoy the fun. Please don't forget to like the vid and help it get shared so others can see there are options to have bees removed and not have to kill them.
**** Honeybees can always be dangerous and it is not recommended to attempt to remove them without experience and knowledge of bees or construction knowledge.***********
I hope you enjoy this little bit of fun. I enjoy your feedback in the comments and thank you for taking the time to check out my channel. Until the next time, enjoy the show.
Yappy Beeman is a professional bee remover performing live honey bee removals in Alabama as "Alabama Bee Rescue" and relocates them to apiaries away from residential areas so they can rebuild and thrive as a honey bee colony producing honey. Yappy is an Alabama Beekeepers association member that has performed over 1000 live bee removals. Yappy with the help of his great friends Jpthebeeman, 628 Dirtrooster bees, Jeff Horchoff and many others, I have learned many skills to remove bee swarms and honey bee colonies safely for the bees and home owners alike.

Here is a little bee educational material for ya.
Africanized honey bees (known colloquially as "killer bees") are hybrids between European stock and the East African lowland subspecies A. m. scutellata; they are often more aggressive than European honey bees and do not create as much of a honey surplus, but are more resistant to disease and are better foragers.[23] Accidentally released from quarantine in Brazil, they have spread to North America and constitute a pest in some regions. However, these strains do not overwinter well, so they are not often found in the colder, more northern parts of North America. The original breeding experiment for which the East African lowland honey bees were brought to Brazil in the first place has continued (though not as originally intended). Novel hybrid strains of domestic and re-domesticated Africanized honey bees combine high resilience to tropical conditions and good yields.

Man, I loved how you didn't just blame the homeowners for spraying. My buddy had a similar situation up here in connecticut a number of years ago. I have known him for 25 years and there is no way he would have done that. He is a true gentle giant, 6'8 a bit socially awkward but always tries to do the right thing and would give you his whole closet in addition to the shirt off his back. Anyway, he had a similar situation as yours. Bees swarmed in his office above the barn/garage. They didnt leave through the open doors, bays, windows so a ton died. The keeper he hired accused him of spraying and refused to help him. She also badmouthed him with other keepers. He couldnt get anyone and he had small kids. His sister in law was allergic to bee stings so he did what he had to do. I know it upset him. He was incorrectly accused of spraying and badmouthed to the point that he couldn't hire anyone to remove the bees safely so Ultimately he had to do what he was falsly accused of. Totally messed up.

He tried to get them out and called around, made an appointment with a local bee keeper. When she arrived, most of the bees were dead. She said he sprayed and he didn't. FUNNY THAT YOU EXPECT BEES TO SEE AS WELL AS A HUMAN BEING DOES AND BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND SPATIAL RELATIONS AND TO COMPREHEND WHAT HOUSE CONSTRUCTION IS IN THE SAME MANNER AS A HUMAN DOES. THEY HAVE COMPOUND EYES, THEY DO NOT HAVE COMPREHENSIVE COLOR VISION LIKE A HUMAN BEING DOES. THEY ARE NOT INTELLIGENT CREATURES. THEY ARE DRIVEN BY INSTINCT AND THEY ARE GOOD ONLY AT CERTAIN TASKS THAT THEY WERE CREATED TO DO AND NOTHING MORE.

Standard American construction. The wall is framed with studs, sheathed on the outside and inside. A garage may not have interior finished walls, just exposed studs. Many people want a finished look, so the interior is finished with gypsum board.

How can you just spot the queen in five seconds of looking at a hive?

Lots and lots of staring at and working with hives I’d imagine. No matter what the craft, it’s always amazing to see masters of their trade at work.

I explain it like this.... a queen is like a beautiful blonde wearing a red dress in a stadium full of men. When you know what you are looking for she just stands out.

IDK IF YOU USED KZbin'S INTERNAL EDITING SUITE OR WHATEVER IT IS BUT I'VE NOTICED THAT THE FEW TIMES THAT I'VE USED IT TO TRIM A VIDEO IT APPEARS TO SERIOUSLY DEGRADE THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO AS I BELIEVE THEY DECODE AND RE-ENCODE THE ENTIRE VIDEO FOR THIS PURPOSE. BUT MAYBE IT'S JUST MY IMAGINATION.
