Something I noticed on my second watch: In the mid-credits scene, Nakia asks T'Challa Jr., "Your father prepared us well for his death, didn't he?" This is a callback to the first Black Panther movie where T'Chaka tells T'Challa, "a man who has not prepared his children for his death has failed as a father"

The Namor of this movie was one of my favorite Antagonists of phase 4, I like his design, costumes, battles, and Tenoch generally does well and has a good presence, they managed to create a different version in some aspects to the comics but without losing the essence and differentiating it enough from Momoa's Aquaman and Atlantis, oh and its theme song is very good

She was at least nominated. I'm not sure if I agree with their choice for Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis in Everything, Everywhere, All At Once) since I haven't seen that film yet, but I have heard from people that have that Stephanie Hsu (also in EEAAO) would've been a better pick.

The “tenth man” from world war z is a great thing to have in the council. The concept is that if all 9 members agree one a decision the tenth man does research under the assumption that the others are wrong. When they heard about zombies they all wrote it off as bullshit and one of them said “maybe” and made a wall to protect the people.

Maybe if Wakanda had a 10th man to tell them, bringing a land-locked target to a place that's going to be attacked if they don't get that target is a bad idea, Riri wouldn't have been captured. Also, a 10th man should be able to tell them that, if they're expecting an invasion to tell people to get inside.... And also tell them, if the invasion is coming from under water.... watch under water. LOL

A small detail: in the final scene where Shuri is speaking to Riri and she gives Riri her father’s car, Shuri is dressed in the identical outfit that T’challa had on when he first visited Shuri in Black Panther, right down to the sandals. So in effect, she had her toes out in her lab 😂

The shield and spear being on the floor represents a fallen Warrior. They actually should have been beside his head the shield on his left and the spear on the right. It also represents and sends a message to the ancestors that the warrior is making way. He is not gonna be buried with it and that's the important part. Leaving behind the warriors fighting tools for the next generations.

What's sad is Marvel did not put this level of dedication in to the production of Antman, just yesterday I watched Wakanda Forever and I thought to myself, the movie is a excellent piece on mourning and loss. Truly one of the best movies in the new phase
@AbhijeetMishra Жыл бұрын
Nah, Wakanda Forever was underwhelming too, at least in my opinion. The homage and mourning for Chadwick Boseman were done extremely well, and I feel many are coming out of the movie feeling the movie was good because of that homage being done so well. I mean, Shuri at the beach and then when his son is revealed in the after credits scene is very, very moving, and it's more or less than last thing you see.
@frey8725 Жыл бұрын
I enjoyed Quantumania. There were only 2 issues with the movie, but it was a fun movie. Wakanda Forever was "sending a message" that I don't care to see when I go to enjoy a comic book movie. Also, the wrote the Wakandans as idiots. It could have been so much better.
@AbhijeetMishra Жыл бұрын
@@frey8725 Yeah, that's an issue for me as well. I'm Indian and stay in India, not in the US, and I felt both Black Panther movies were underwhelming and praised too much just because they gave the limelight to black people. Audiences outside the US don't really care about US issues, so when the movies become all about focusing on things that only Americans are talking about instead of actually being good or relevant in general, foreign audiences are not just going to go along. I must say I was happy to see Ms Marvel portray so much of Pakistani culture, a lot of which is similar to Indian culture, or to be more concise, our way of life is similar in many ways. So it's not like I don't understand the importance of representation. But the representation went on a bit too long and the show barely had anything else to offer, so I eventually tuned out and didn't finish it. Black Panther is similarly just a lot of mediocre stuff that's praised because it advances diversity and inclusivity. Hopefully Disney and Hollywood will change soon, because it's becoming more and more clear they need foreign viewers to make them money in theaters right now as US audiences seem to have reduced going to the theater by a lot since the pandemic happened. And again, a majority of that foreign audience doesn't care about the things the movies these days have begun focusing on to please activists and people who want "social justice" in the US, so it's going to be hard to do a lot of business outside the US at one point if they keep this up.

I want to point out another detail: When Namor shows Talokan to Shuri, and they're greeted by its people, Namor does the Talokani salute, and right when he bows his head, the water shapes his hair as Comic Namor's. Thanks for all the effort you put into these videos. I'm from Mexico and I LOVED every single frame of Wakanda Forever. I went to watch it thrice on theaters (one with my dad, one with my mom, and one alone on IMAX 4D because duh...) and I'm on my fourth watch on Disney Plus. And with all that I barely catched half of the details you found! SIMPLY AMAZING Edit: I also noticed that the way the singer of "Con La Brisa", (the song that sounds when Talokan is first shown) sounds like she's singing with water in her mouth. LITERAL CHILLS
@lou7018 Жыл бұрын
Another detail I’ve noticed is that when Namor and Shuri talk in the city Talokan, you can make out a carpet or painted wall where Namor is coming out of the throat of the mayan god Kukulcan (the time stamp is 1:04:29 if you want to look it up). Later on Namor says that his enemies call him that name. It just makes me wonder if Namor is like a rebirth of Kukulcan or an avatar like in Moonknight. There are also other mayan or mesoamerican deities depicted in that scene. It’s so cool that the team of marvel is really doing their research on the background of certain characters and put in these small details for people who are interested in mythology. I absolutely loved that scene (and obviously your breakdown and the other details).

I just wanted to point out that the soldiers aren't shooting blind when fighting at the Dora Milaje at 1:50, if you noticed the Dora never tried to mortally wound any of them, instead they were electrocuting them and the soldiers shooting are a mere involuntary muscle spasm caused by the electricity running through them causing their muscles in their entire body to tense up. I work with electricity.... still a nice attention to detail.

Surprised you didn’t mention Shuri having her toes out in her own lab at the end as a nod to T’challa doing the same in the first movie. I kinda thought it was cool how the sequel was pretty poetic to the first movie in a few different ways. There was the quote Shuri and T’challa share about vengeance but they also make the same battle cry during the ending fight scene. The son introduces himself to Shuri representing Wakanda just as his father introduced his real self and his nation to the world at the end credits of the first movie.
