24:18 -Actually, the reveal was that Rachel, being the Professor of game theory that she is, gave up the bamboo piece that would’ve secured her victory in the game, but deliberately gave it up and let Eleanor win, which earns her respect since Rachel did understand the belief to put someone’s happiness before her own. Hope this helps. Glad you’re watching my favorite romcom. :)

@@MoviesinDepth Also when you play Mahjong with money, a self-drawn win (drawing the tile you need to win) everyone pays you double. If someone tosses the tile you need to win only the person who tossed it pays double. So her giving that up also is not only is Rachel giving Eleanor the win, she's telling and showing her that it's because of her, it's not just luck or hard work. Like Rachel said "it will be because of me, a Chinese-American, immigrant nobody." Sidenote, you should learn how to play, it's fun, can get very competitive, and very strategic
@watcherquek2632 жыл бұрын
@@MoviesinDepth The rules isn't hard. I learnt it in my 30s. Kinda like jim rummy. You either match 3 of the same tiles (the game would have 4 of the same tiles) or you match 3 sequential tiles. There are the other combos but there are other tiles. Generally there are 3 set of systems: Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia; they are very similar but have some variation of the rules. There is of course house rules so there. Look for mobile games to practise

I think you might have gotten Araminta (the bride in the movie) and Nick's ex mixed up? Because you were saying that Araminta was a potential fave character at the start and then said Nick's ex was losing the favourite spot, and then at the end you said Araminta put the fish in Rachel's bed when that wasn't her. Araminta was always supportive of Rachel which is why her celebrating at the end makes sense.
