You don’t get it. There’s so much lore, engineering, and history with muppets that makes them so magical. Many of the film effects we have today were Jim Henson creation and didn’t exist until he made them. Each film is a work of art.
@DanJackson19775 ай бұрын
With all due respect, you seem to have gone into this endevour without understanding any *context* of the Muppets... like the difference between the productions Jim Henson made versus the ones after he passed... and oddly enough, that matters. The Muppets were more than "content" despite how Disney has treated them. There was real heart and soul in *peak Muppets*... which was, yeah.. The 1979 Muppet Movie... the one you dismissed as *ok*... yet has some of the best movie songs ever written.

I hate to sound super nitpicky, but out of all the Muppet stuff that's been made, there are actually only 11 movies in total; 8 theatrical releases and 3 TV movies. The rest you included were TV specials, not movies (and you didn't watch all of the specials either, I'm afraid

Hey, this was a really entertaining video, but just some constructive feedback, I think there's too much reliance on background visuals from comedies. I have a hard time visualizing the Muppet movies and style when I'm looking at something that's only tangently related. It would just help with memorability

@@neallong2480 again, I really appreciate it - it’s always real nice to get “constructive criticism” that’s actually, like… *constructive* criticism I’m trying a different format with my videos now - actually showing my face and such - so hopefully that goes well! Also thanks for the compliment in my tv show taste, I try to only use clips from stuff I’ve seen/like, so I’m glad it’s appreciated

@@chloejarvis1also I’ve noticed the messages are quite messy for this video, and as a lifelong Muppet fan I want to say, you brought an outsider’s perspective and that’s really valuable. We need to know what people outside the fan base think. That’s very important for the future of the Muppets. Thank you for the video. 😊

Hoo boy, are you gonna get a LOT of flak for this one… Props for acknowledging some of the franchise’s highest highs, though. It’s good to know that they transcend just being adored by the existing fans.

The 1st Christmas movie you’ve mentioned uses many of the beats from The Muppets (2011), which was based on the same OG concept pitch from the 1990s. Also: in The Wizard of Oz the scene of Dorothy transformation has her turned into the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, who used to be a part of his reality show

Muppet Movie is a "good enough" movie???? ?????? Oh boy you lost me there. And you consider "it's a very merry muppet xmas movie" to be an "OG" movie? Chloe - no disrespect meant but you know NOTHING of the muppets and you just lost any potential muppet fan. Please go back and do some more research (or just watch another youtube video that actually knows what it is talking about in this area) and re-edit this video.

You’re right, I do know nothing about the Muppets! Ik I had some controversial takes (especially on the OG, 1979 Muppet movie), but what can I say: you might think my opinions suck (they probably do tbh), I just hope I can make someone laugh😌
@alisachamoy2255 ай бұрын
@@chloejarvis1 I wasn't trying to be offensive as I said. But as a die hard muppets fan, I had to say that you are really missing the true elements of the muppet legacy and muppets magic. The "utterly convoluted plots" are creative, imaginative, funny and brilliant at times. I wouldn't say your opinions "suck," but maybe could be a little more well informed. Go back and watch the muppet show - then you might better understand what I am talking about. Look at some documentaries on jim henson and his life (not just the new "idea man.") Watch the frog prince from the 70s. Also - the "OG" muppet movies would really include muppet movie, muppet caper and muppets take manhattan. And you can certainly take what I am saying with a grain of salt because my son doesn't like the muppets, despite the muppet posters in his room.

With all due respect, this feels so empty and soulless... Like, thrown together to copy a very niche idea for a video that's been done already... Like, you don't have to like the Muppets, but God... The way she just dismissively runs through everything, ending up with only half an hour's worth of content... It honestly just comes off of someone trying to be a self-imposed quota for a weekly video essay...

Great Muppet Caper has always been just about my favorite Muppet movie. Emmet Otter is the most unique twist on O. Henry's Gift of the Magi that I've ever seen. I'm sure that Gonzo's nipple thing must have been a reference to the whole brujaja with Joel Schumacher's Batman movies and how the batsuits had nipples on them. Muppet Family Christmas was a masterpiece, even if there was a severe scale problem with Kermit and Robin being able to just walk into a Fraggle hole when the one in Doc' shop is so small he never sees it.

I found out about A Christmas Toy around 5 years ago when my aunt was talking about it on Christmas Eve one year. She just said, “the Christmas movie with rugby tiger” I did a little research and found it, watched it, and fell in love with it. It might be in my top three favorite Christmas movies of all time. I tried as much as I could to find a rugby tiger plush, but the only one was hundreds of dollars.
