Then you can say he actually inspired you because you can play better than him, which is a waste of money. I bought the masterclass and found the Timberland class was fun however it didn't teach me anything I already didn't know so after about 2 weeks of watching DeadMau5, Armin, Hans Zimmer(which really gave me more insight into the film scoring mindset I thought was new and cool, but still not really helpful) I really only got a summary overview of what it is like being in the studio as a producer/songwriter/composer etc...
@titovalasques

@@eddiecola292 I don’t think I ever called him a musician and maybe (just maybe) I’m harbouring a bias here but traditionally I always thought some of the best producers were at least semi decent musicians too. But I’m not knocking it, as long as music is being created that makes people happy to consume that’s great.

One I can recommend for Trance music is Allan Morrow. His classes go extremely deep and are not so expensive (especially for the amount of information he offers). On top of that he has tons of videos here on KZbin and a mailing list which alone will teach enough new stuff. To round it up he also offers 1 to 1 classes in which he discusses and helps you with your track. People released Trance tracks thanks to him...

The Masterclass is like going to a couple hours workshop with that person. But NO, you won't learn that much from them, besides from their viewpoints and such. Like Jon says, if you are a fan of some of them, then yeah... get it! If you want to learn, I think LinkedIn has some great courses on production, mixing, mastering, both old school with Bobby Owsinski, and modern school too... I haven't checked FaderPro though but, if Jon Sine is going to release a course/masterclass, that has to be a great thing to check out!! :D

First of all, I asked myself how you would like to see each online masterclass (related to music production). There are a number of providers and websites for this. But you only mean the provider "Masterclass" ... that is then very manageable. I saw everything there too. It's not that much. You can think of what you want ... I didn't really learn much for practical work there. Rather, I have gained a few approaches as far as my personal mindset is concerned. This is also something different in contrast to all the providers who explain the practical application. Deadmau5 "Masterclass" in particular was very entertaining in this context.

The Hans Zimmer class was fun, but it mainly concerned his personal immersion into the creative goals of the film producers. The technical studio aspects were benign. I also paid for the 1-year all-in subscription, but chose not to renew given the general lack of studio substance. That was many years ago. So why did I subscribe to your channel? Because few others get into the various mastering EQ, Compression, and Limiting aspects. And you did that to some degree not to long ago with the BetterMaker gear. Just the other day, I signed up with "Mix with the Masters", and although the site features numerous award winning engineers, the specifics of mastering 2 channels seems to be secondary to recording and mix production.

I got Masterclass for Deadmau5 and have been enjoying many of the classes. For instance, Garry Kasparov teaching chess. Amazing! I got rid of cable (keeping only the high speed internet, and subscribe to channels like HBOMax, Disney+, etc.). I treat the Masterclass as another channel and got rid of Showtime, which I just wasn't watching. What I'm trying to say is that I wouldn't pay if I only had one interest (music production), but watching Martin Scorcese teach directing is more fun for me than watching a lot of the mindless drivel populating the channels today.

6:29 interesting I like that song is that the one you're talking about is top secret? Also did you try the hanz Zimmermann master class? As that would be thr 1 if any I would start with since it was the basics and every genre cuz itd be making movie music hes the guy that makes all the epic movies music so he might have thr best class but idk coz I'm tio poor to buy these things lol (as a millionaire) Lol but I was thinking about trying these but worried about the same issues they'd maybe not go deep enough or tell us what their secrets really are lol. But then maybe I thought you should make your own class since all these are lacking and maybe just let ppl buy thr 1 month lol im trying to learn production n theory everything I played several instruments better at some then others. But I still need a lot of knowledge.

Great to hear that from someone with your level of expertise, Jon. Thank you. I also highly recommend watching Warren Huartt (Produce like a Pro, youtube) interviewing the engineers and producers about huge hits. They often go thru the original multitracks there. And then if course, Rick Beato with his series "What makes this song great?", where he approaches more from a musician's side. Great stories and incredible skills plus a fantastic personality? See Tim Pierce doing his magic and recalling iconic studio sessions or about how it is to be in the band for the Grammys live show. It's all freely available here. The free courses on Point Blank Music School's channel are great, too. Especially the ones with Ski Oakenfull.
