10 minutes in : Time management, about quality and A/B testing hit right home, after almost 4 years of producing I just the last year started to make music I'm proud of and is full tracks and the one thing im struggling with is actually start posting.. My friends are always asking me to when I will post my tracks and when I say I aint happy with it "yet" they are surprised how little confident I am about my own quality, they allways say it sounds proffessional. I guess I just needed to hear that from somebody in the game, thanks for the inspiration man. "You shouldn't be afraid of sucking in the past, Just be a shamed of sucking right now"

personal tips from me 1.spend more time in your DAW and less time in KZbin. You're most likely won't absorb every basics for 30 mins. Play with your DAW and just google a certain things you want to know 2. its alright for your first songs to suck , we started to become better. your production will be better as long you put time into it 3. You don't need label right now tbh. You can make more just being an independent artist. Label is great if you want to reach more people through their promotion. Or just get a management team for yourself and be your own boss. 4. learn at least the basics of music theory. Yes , tons of producers or musicians doesn't study it and successful but it is a great knowledge to have to lay down ideas faster. At least study it on your free time. Just don't stress yourself too much into it. The final product is still what most people care about

I’ve been active in the (live) TV/radio/theatre recording scene for over 30 years now, and this is just a jam-packed condensed advice package that could be a summary of my career… now I’m coaching students of the Conservatory about the industry, and this is a great message to get across for when you are young(er)! Well done!

I started the same way. I learned to DJ while attending college in NJ and going to the clubs in NYC. Then my first daw was Cakewalk, sometime around 1995. Lately I have been using Ableton Live since version 9. Also, back in 1996 I was DJing in Fort Lauderdale and I incorporated a Pioneer CDJ500 into my sets.

Jon. When you are making music, you are making music for yourself. To your whatever standard. And to someone that has similar standards as you. Never compromise. For your solo work. And maybe for your own band work. When you lose that, you yourself are indifferent from others.

Thanks, very helpful vid for a beginning producer like me. And I do recognize the self learning bit, for me self learning is way more effective. With self learning you remember much more then if you follow a study.

The last point is for some musicians like me easier said than done. First when I'm super creative and make songs, people who aren't friends or do hear that music in private for objective feedback says wow. I just think okay this could be one to release. But when I'm mixing it to catch the feeling I want to transport and I'm nearly ready I catch myself listen to a professional Song and think my Song is shit even when I know they have better gear and professional engineer. But when I show my older brother another mixed version of a song i worked ours on it, he mostly says "I cannot really hear a difference but it's good" and I think to myself not overthink everything I make when I do music. So its just like you said but for some easier said then done 😅

I have to suggestions for this channel today: 1. Do reviews of the gear you buy (and name them like that). This would have two benefits: You can actually help other people a lot with your daily vlog and get more recognition from people who don't know you. 2. Do more videos like that again, where you explain how you produce and work. It's always very interesting. Great video btw :)

I’m pretty sure you can get all the stems in the video, no? Just use Melodyne or something similar built in the DAW for the vocal. Watch his last video and see how he figures out the chords for a remix he’s doing.
