1. asking why fairies need dust to fly is like asking you why you need glasses to see if you already have eyes. i think it just aids in the speed, precision and overall quality of their flight. 2. about terrance and the talent stuff. there’s books for the tinker bell stuff and they explore more talents and just more of pixie hollow and yes terrence is a dust talent fairy. there’s literally so many talents and so many of them are super niche. idk yeah just some of this stuff didn’t make sense to me at first either but i loved the books so much. they don’t follow the movie storylines at all but they’re super detailed and pretty and easy to get sucked into.

I also recall in the first film they flew through the winter woods The winter woods had a Mistress of Winter, not a Minister of Winter There was a winter fairy present that brought a snowflake as one of the talents for TinkerBelle to choose Also the Mistress of Winter was present in that meeting with the Queen, the Ministers & Mistress of Summer I also loved how each film showed the talents of all four seasons.

It's funny that, although I'm a guy, I always really enjoyed both the tinkerbell movies and the my little pony series when I was younger. I saw a reddit post where someone wrote about why they really liked the tinkerbell movies, and they mentioned that even though the cast is all female, it's not something they bring too much attention to. As they put it "there's no squabbling over boys, there's no fighting over a prom throne, there's no worrying about being popular enough or not. It's just motivated characters doing stuff". The gender of the characters shouldn't be something that dictates who "should" enjoy a show or a movie and who "can"t". The problem is that often writers act like a characters gender completely defines who they are as a person. I guess I've just always preferred stories with characters who have gender-neutral personalities. Steven Universe is another example of this done very well. All the characters are very well written, but I know many people that dismissed it because they thought it would "make boys gay" or something.

And Terence is a Dust Talent fairy, alongside all the other fairies who work the mill; they are able to make better use of the Fairy Dust and have increased yields and don't lose even one speck of Dust compared to non-Dust Talent fairies. I think the reason I loved secret of the wings so much was that I was into the "forbidden friendships" trope and anything that came close to that (maybe I still do. It depends) and besides that, I just loved Periwinkle so much. I could relate to her the most out of all of the characters. I'm not sure why because I haven't watched the movie in a long while but I remember her being a bit quiet. Also for some reason, I love the idea of Tink having a sister. I feel maybe it just highlights Tink's personality more if we see her sister if that makes any sense. It might not make sense. I can't explain it, really.

I think the most interesting thing after the third movie was how the movies really detracted from the books. The Disney Fairy book franchise had a lot more characters with stories instead of being focused on just Tinkerbell and her group. Also, the Minister of Winter was kinda dropped in the secret of the wings for Lord Mallory which is kinda sad....

I maintain that my favorite part of these films is how well they incorporate Tinker Bell being a legitimate ENGINEER (for the most part). It's somewhat less prevalent in the later films, but for the first three or so, her engineering skills are SO important to the plot and her character as a whole and I LOVED that. I adored that they weren't afraid in the first few films of making her be a real, legitimate, incredibly talented engineer, something that is very stereotypically masculine. Especially as Tinker Bell herself has always been presented as uber feminine, with her outfit and her body shape and the fact that she's "overemotional" and gets jealous and clingy over Peter. In this, while she keeps the hourglass shape and her lil outfit, it didn't stick with making her whole personality fit the feminine stereotype of the original and allowed her to lean into the most masculine storylines around engineering. They took "jealousy" from the original film and just had her have a TEMPER which I loved, too, because even that is more stereotypically masculine. She's allowed to be NUANCED in these films in a way she just isn't in the Peter Pan films. It didn't help that I saw these either shortly before or shortly after I saw the Live Action Beauty and the Beast where they marketed Belle as being this new feminist ENGINEER character when she barely gets to be an engineer at all in the film and it's not even a major part of her arc as a character or the storyline as a whole. I was SO disappointed when I saw that film and compared it to Tinker Bell. So I think that's one of the things that caught my eye about these films that I think they DO do really well, mostly in the first 3 films, though her being an engineer isn't COMPLETELY ignored in later ones, either, it's just no the main thrust of the story anymore.

What I don't like is that Terence is hardly there later on in the other films, because he played an important role with Tinkerbell. (Rani = Water, Fira = Light, Lily = Garden, Beck = Animal). ESPECIALLY Rani though. Like, the only fairy in Pixie Hollow who can swim? The savior of Never Land who cut off her wings to preserve Mother Dove's egg? I would've love a Tinker Bell movie that revolved around her!

Book Tales and D.J. Rose I'm so glad someone else gets it! Don't get me wrong I did love the movies and enjoyed the characters, but the sheer untapped potential of the older books is unmatched. I mean, imagine an adaption of 'Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg'. Imagine seeing the Never egg destroyed and understanding what that would mean for Peter Pan and for the fairies, that all of Neverland will age and die. Imagine seeing Rani's sacrifice play out, seeing her lose her wings for good and know that she will never, ever be able to fly again but rationalising that it would be worth it to save her home. Imagine her experiencing swimming for the first time, something no other fairy has ever been able to do, and realising that maybe she's lost something but just look what she's gained. Imagine her returning home, different and unsure what her life would be like now, only to be introduced to Brother Dove and learn that while nothing will be quite the same anymore her community won't give up on her and will help her to fly again, at least in some capacity, and that there will always be a place for her. Imagine the very real stakes and loss and hope that could have been created, and the exploration of the different settings around Neverland and the beautiful visuals these could have given us. We were absolutely robbed.

Okay, five minutes in, I've got the answer to two of your questions, their probably not accurate but I think it can explain some things "Why do they need dust to fly?" -I always assumed it was because the wings are thin and fragile so the dust helps them lift off the ground while the wings act more as a guide "Is being a dust fairy a talent?" -Yes. I'm pretty sure being a dust fairy is a talent. There was never evidence saying it wasn't, so it's fair to assume it is. The fairies talents are more than nature oriented, this is why there's tinker fairies and dust fairies

Allura Jane These movies are two separate story lines technically. The production group for Secret of the Wings even said that it was sort of a reboot. I’m fine with that, considering the continuity snafu with the Winter Woods. However, the fact Tinkerbell references the previous movie (Great Fairy Rescue) does in a sense connect them. The only thing they have to do to make the film work better is to divide the Winter Woods into two sections. Make it like the arctic- the further in you go the colder it gets. That’s, in a way, how Pixie Hollow Online treated it. Any player could go to any region on the map, with the Winter Woods being a special event area (making normally ‘inaccessible’ to warm fairies)

About the frost, I think of it as like when orange tree farmers in Florida pour water over their trees on freezing nights so the temperatures of the trees don't go below freezing, because they are frozen. I read Tangerine and remember that being a plot point so I always connected the two lol

Secret of the Wings was my favorite, but there was a major continuity error that drove me crazy. In the first movie (which I watched a lot when I was a kid) Clank and Bobble introduce Tink to all the talents, including the snow fairies. The three of them fly through the winter woods together. Then we are told they can’t even go in there in Secret because their wings would break. I was like ah ahah that’s basically retconning the first film and idk it shouldn’t matter to me I know lol

The reason that one pirate looks familiar is because he looks almost EXACTLY like one of the “ruffians” from Tangled. I’m pretty sure he was the one with a hook for a hand.

I’m am: Clown Finally, someone agrees with me for Legend of the Neverbeast! Sometimes, when me and my friends are talking about old Disney movies and we start talking about Tinkerbell, whenever I say that one is my favourite, they’re like “Why? It’s the saddest thing ever.” It’s not sad, I personally think it’s actually beautiful.

I love the neverbeast movie so much, if felt like it left snippets and forshadowing of the sad ending, so it didn’t feel too bizzare. I also do think it’s important to show some movies don’t have to have happy endings, that the ending let’s you sit with what you just watched and that the neverbeast has changed fawn forever and she’ll carry his memory with her forever is a powerful message of how love and friendship can carry with us thru our lives even when those people leave our lives.

I watched them, and for the most part, I really enjoyed them (especially secret of the wings). They have great messages, good characters, and have some legit depth to them. Also, can we appreciate how good the musical score is? I just love the more celtic vibe. Something that did bug me though (again going with secret of the wings) was how they implemented the inability for the frost fairies and other fairies to co exist and interact with one another EVEN THOUGH the first film shows frost fairies at Tinks ceremony and even has the Minister of Winter show up.

Does anyone remember the promotional stuff they’d do in the online Pixie Hollow game every time a movie released?? They’d change up certain things, add in new items, and just sort of recreate the movies in the game and I always loved it!

I loved that game, I wish it still existed because it was one of my favorite virtual worlds when I was little. Also anyone else just enjoyed the fairy creating portion of the game? I always just made a new fairy with a new talent a lot until there was a point when I decided just to stick with the three fairies I created. (I hope I have screenshots of the fairies somewhere because when the game closed, I might have lost everything). The only thing I wish they hadn't done was make you have to pay real money for certain parts of the game, but it is Disney who created it, so that is expected.
