@@MathewMcKenna Yeah lol. I think they just wanted to keep the vibe of the franchise grounded in reality a bit to enhance the magical elements (I feel like a big part of the appeal was the feeling that it could be real), so having a specific cultural influence was helpful in that. It's one of the things that sets this franchise apart from other fairy franchises, in my opinion.

Context for the ending with the music box: TinkerBell found the music box in many pieces on the beach in the first movie and was able to fix it, as she is a tinker fairy. She brings the music box with her when the fairies go to the mainland to change winter to spring so she can find who had lost it, which ends up being Wendy from Peter Pan.

*Fun Fact:* Tinkerbell's character design was modeled after Margaret Kelly, who also voiced as the red-haired mermaid in the Neverland lagoon from Disney's Peter Pan movie. Some say that she was modeled after Marilyn Monroe, but it was just a myth. Anyways, Tinkerbell films are underrated and it shows that Tinker can speak more than just ringing bells.

Tinkerbell is probably my favorite Disney franchise
@inkylynx2777 Жыл бұрын
The fact that some people were confused that Tink would speak in these films just baffles me. She's clearly capable of communication, we just can't understand her because it's partially framed by the Darling Children who can't understand her, and Peter Pan acts as her translator. Even the Pirate Fairy did this.

@@sophielem59 DIsney got rid of the studio making the Tinkerbell Movies, we were suppose to have one after the Neverbeast and there were plans for more surrounding the other main fairies like the Neverbeast did for Fawn but Disney shut down the studio which poofed those plans sadly. Tinkerbell was such a huge part of my childhood and truly had an impact on me and my relationship with nature, I'm 23 years old and still enjoying these movies like a happy little kid I was when I first saw them. 💚 Maybe someone has already commented this but in case not: Tinkerbell movies are based on the time Tinkerbell hadn't yet met Peter and work as a backstory of hers. There are 6 movies, the first one being released in 2008, so it makes sense that you got the vibes for that. 😌The songs hit 10 times harder when watching the movies 🥺💚

That second to last song was about the fairies turning winter to spring on 'The Mainland' which is London. They change all of the seasons manually for humans. This was a special visit because Tinker(inventor) fairies, the ones in green, aren't usually allowed to go to 'The Mainland'. Tinkerbell was allowed to go because she impressed the Queen(the one in gold) and she had to return the music box to its rightful for owner. Clank and Bobble(the male tinker fairies) were allowed to go aswell as they carried it for her. You should watch the actial movies to get more context on how they prepare for seasonal changes and the all around lore.

Loreena McKennitt sings “to the fairies they draw near” and lots her songs are Celtic inspired! My favorite song of hers is the “Bonny swans” which is a take on the “twa sisters” story (where a sister is drowned in a river by her older sister over a man, and when the sister’s body washes up to shore she’s so beautiful and pale that and little girl mistakes her for a swan. Her bones are then turned into harp by a passing Harper and when brought before the girls parents and family in court the harp plays by itself and reveals her older sister’s misdeeds)

My favorite thing about these films is the atmosphere. Also the amount of times I heard the last song during previews for the film (via Disney channel ads) and on the DVD extras. It gives so much nostalgia. Also, someone probably already said it, but the pixie dust was to carry it better, as Tink was going to return the music box to its owner, having found the pieces in pixie hollow and put the box back together. This franchise means a lot to me

Oh, you should totaly watch those movies! I think you would love them! They all have their own little story to tell, but here is a rough sinposis of the first one: There are different types of fairys, most of them beeing elemental based (water, light, wind, etc), and than there are the Tinker Fairies. When the seasons change from winter to spring, the elemental fairies go to the mainland to bring the change of seasons. Tinkerbell, aka "Tink", is a fairy that was just born, and her goal is to find a way to join the journey to the main land.
