I'd like to see his 2 allow his 1 the ability to ricochet to a nearby enemy god, once. Be even better if both linked gods are either slowed to hell or immobile for x duration.

He's good in team fight though. But u have to hit those ones on God's that have movement abilities. One item I always have on ares is winged blade.

I agree I think if they made his 1 a cone like Ymir freeze allowing it to be hit a little easier, and a change to his aoe buff, if they made it to where when ares chains someone, up to 3 he uses his 2 and pulls people to him, almost like a mini ult/Maui pull? I feel like that would make him very good that way he is able to pull more and hit more chains consistently. Both imo are problems I believe he has.

I pretty strongly disagree, I play a lot of ares and I do fairly good with him. He’s only mobile if you don’t know how to use his 1, he’s only got low sustain if you don’t know how to use his 2, and he’s only got low CC if you don’t build him right. I get a lot of use out of gem of iso and his 3 with full CDR, and he performs great

When I play Ares, if I’m not a super aggressive gigachad in the first few minutes, I’m useless for the rest of the game. Chain and burn on cooldown until they die or have to back. Also imo I think maximizing your cooldown with as little items as possible so you can get as many aura items as possible is the only way to build him. My prefered build right now: Sentinels upgrade Prophetic Sov (more hp5=more opportunities to trade / sov plus ares 2 heals for quite a bit) Heartward Glads shield or spirit robe The defense/cooldown item in the same tree as myrodins that I can’t remember the name of Steal as many actives/ults as you can from the enemy team and then focus the same ones with the next ult. That being said, if you don’t have any other scary cc on your team you probably do nothing and lose.

Ares ult half way or at the end isnt that bad. Most players would use beads during the fight allowing ares to control the enemy team or even ult to secure a fleeing enemy

1 should stun if you land 2 or more chains on the same character (So 1 chain from 1 and 4 stuns before and after the pull). Helps with Beads galore and gives him at least something to protect someone.

As a support main who averages 3/4/25+ this was the most disappointing display of supporting ive ever seen. Bad character with a mix of bad support awareness, never initiating fights, staying mid lane the entire game, and having 0 map awareness, never focusing who he should to help get easy kills. Had he supported the Achilles even ONCE the game would have been a wash. BUT again, the situational awareness was just NOT there. Also, never and i mean never was this 4.2k health TANK on the front line, quite literally stayed behind Skadi and Kali the entire game 💀 I'm not a pro I'm not a masters player, i may not even be good enough to being saying any of this, but HOLY do I feel disappointed as someone who plays nothing but support to see this type of scaredy cat gameplay, initiate the fight, get them to use beads, sacrifice yourself if you must and let your team wipe them.

I've been an ares main at heart since I started, I've never taken breaks from him and he's constantly been my highest char or one of my highest if it's not my main account, and I'll say ares isn't that good. He's bad, he takes SO much skill and awareness to make useful, and then after you put your whole life into making him useful, an atlas pressing buttons with his tongue will still ALWAYS out-value you. Ares really needs some love or at least an item he can abuse lol, I will agree he shines most in solo and that's where he's seen in spl and high ranks, he's fun in jg and decent but as a supp there's one word for him. Pain. Edit: getting farther in the vid, he just ult more often than not SPAM IT ON COOLDOWN! JUST ULT, ALL THE TIME, EVERY FIGHT, SOLO ULT, JUST DO IT WTF

Dude I played with this guy today. He was Hades mid on my team and literally didn't use his ult for the last 9 minutes of the game. We had 3 team fights in that time and he died with it up all 3 times. I couldn't help but just laugh, lol.

@@shannonhartfiel2973 you can watch past games? How do you do that? Yeah I know he was getting shredded. If you looked at his build you would see he had no lifesteal and no defense as Hades mid. I'm not saying him ulting would have saved his life or won us the game, especially with his build. I'm just wondering what else do you do as Hades when you get surrounded by enemies. Ulting seems like the only option, yet he didn't.

You want a guardian with good early pressure (maybe say, extended AoE autos?), a long duration cripple, a great team utility ability, and a big beads-pulling, CC immune, big impact pull (how about a safer, faster canneled one)? And what if I throw in a leap (so you aren't forced to buy blink) and a nasty cc chain? There's a Maui for that. The only thing Ares does better than Maui is solo carry early through his own dmg. (Also tbf he trades a longer cd 1 and 2 for a now 20s shorter cd ult). Unless you are literally ulting on CD, just play Maui.

Idk if it makes me qualified to have a say in the status of ares BUT- as some who has, in ranked conquest, a 53% win rate, a 1.54 KDA, and 50 hours, I feel like he is in and almost always has been in a fairly decent spot for solo if you know what you’re doing

Ares doesn't have hard cc's like a baachus as you said but he have cripple on his chains it's not nothing not every gods have cripple it's very strong dissruption , not as good as silence but very good , one of the best warrior have this cripple as well , King Arthur...

At this point, Ares is just bad Maui. Maui has a ranged cripple that also pulls. Maui has an AOE buff that relies less on positioning and teleports a teammate instead of just being a buff. Maui has an actual hard CC ability that doubles as movement instead of a pitiful tick damage ability. Maui has an ultimate pull that he doesn't need Blink to use effectively and it leaves behind a wall. They need to seriously buff Ares' damage because that's what he's supposed to do. He's supposed to trade peel for kill potential and he can't even come close to killing people since the 9.5 defense changes.

Wish ares 2 did more. Like a passive buff, with an active effect. Or have some bonus skill activation for hitting all of your chains on one or more targets. He needs something. My man’s feels…so…meh 🤷‍♂️

Oh…have his two have passive armor and magic resist as an aura, activating his passive. Upon skill activation all chained enemies are rooted. His one could have a damage ramping capability. Landing his chains increases his 3’s damage. His three could have a stun built in much like a baccus belch. If all three chains hit one target his 3 is buffed, allowing a shield slam as displacement/stun. Idk…I just miss ares being…a god of war lol

It gives hp5, prots of both, ccr, and movement speed for ares when he hits his chains. It’s kind of a inflated ability I can see it’s a headache for hirez to change and make him a better character

I think his chains need an added 0.5 second stun or root for the first time you take damage with the effect happening once per enemy. His three should have a winding up slow. Or have his 2 to detonate the effects while you have them going. Or have his 2 do something useful if you have both chains and fire doing there effects, could be it detonates a decent stun or fucking something

Area is really good now, this guy just sucks, his passive is really good for doing dmg by building auras that also help the team, his chains and upgrades sunder with the right build will do 70% hp at least on anyone but the support

Wait a minute match making got 4 masters in game and decided to put 3 of them in one team instead of dividing them evenly. Them having mixed masters with diamonds isn't that bad as long it they were divided evenly but Hi-rez doesn't know how to balance game. I bet they have based on individual rankings instead on team overall, witch could explain imbalance in team making.

Im playing ares in casuals conquest or ranked joust. If it was me I could have killed that bachus over in the jungle at the first 5 min. The starter he used stinks for ares sentinels cloak or warriors blessing for me. Contagion shoguns kusari pridwen first 3 items. @11:50 he could have ulted, portaled and chained under tower. The rank system sucks I agree there should be a severe tier difference. As for the chains I use quick cast. This ares is #3 but doesn't play smart. Made too many mistakes like with the build and relics. I hate how he uses his 2 when it's purpose is for more damage on chains or to help a team fight. He is constantly using it for no reason

I always have everyones beads down. And when i do thor just shits on the squishy. Ifnyiu dont got beads or refuse to use them youre dead either way. Thats the point of ares. You force relics out of squishies with blink ults and let your jungler and mage pop off. You arent peeling for anyone as support so build a hybrid tank and make your jungler and solo a tank and just W key. If that doesnt work then ggs

@@jerichoakuma7441 Hard to say, recent stats show he plays mostly support and won most of those games, according to smitesource. Maybe he was tired that game or drunk. Maybe he just isn't familiar with the mid role or hasn't played Hades that much. I know I can't play jungle at Diamond/Master level and would probably look like a shitter in that role.
