FILM SYNOPSIS♡
Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite being a rat in a rodent-phobic profession. He moves to Paris to follow his dream, and with the help of hapless garbage boy Linguini, he puts his culinary skills to the test in the kitchen, but he has to stay in hiding at the same time, with hilarious consequences. Remy eventually proves his culinary abilities to be a great food critic, but is the food good? A Pixar animation.

First off, Ruyika, when you mentioned your sponsor, I was like “WHAT?!” It just so happens that I have the very thing that you’re using right now when I acquired it from an offer from Raycon themselves not too long ago. Secondly, you pulled off that “Colette” look quite beautifully, nicely done. Everything about this movie is flawless to no end and I love every second of it. Pixar exceeds in one thing and that is to take the time and dedication to research everything they need to know before making any film to come out spectacularly realistic as possible. The score that you enjoyed very much is provided by none other than Michael Giacchino, an amazing composer who knows how to fit the scenes perfectly with his music. With Ego’s review at the end, someone mentioned how he asked for some “perspective” and he received just that when Remy made Ratatouille. Colette and Skinner thought that it won’t pass since it’s a very simplistic dish to make and yet, Ego was so stunned that he couldn’t speak at all. A humble input inside of an unlikely place with high standards. Furthermore, the reason why Linguini’s mother never mentioned his parentage is because she knew how stressful his life will be when people find out that Gusteau has a son. In this scenario, everyone will expect him to uphold his legacy by taking his place, even though he never learned how to cook in his life. In a negative approach, they’ll be those who would reject him because he was a child born out of wedlock and since he’s the son of one of the top chefs in Paris, that would tarnish his good name and forever stain his reputation. It sounds pretty morbid but I’m saying this because in a world this crappy and judgmental, we have to be real about it. Lastly, when they said that the best food in the world is made in France, I said to myself, “that’s debatable” since they clearly never tried Peruvian cuisine.

There's a very impressive theory that the old lady in the beginning is Ego's mother, and also that Gusteau is Ego's brother! This is evidenced by the fact that she's wearing the same thing in Ego's flashback when she made ratatouille, and if you look, there is what appears to be a portrait of Gusteau hanging in the background. The theory is essentially: Ego's always been hard on Gusteau because he felt like Gusteau sold out, and thus dedicated his own life to preserving their mothers teachings and recipes. The dish that cost Gusteau one of his stars was the ratatouille dish, because it was a far cry from the one they ate when they grew up with. This also perfectly sets up the ending, because its not just the realization that it's delicious, it's the realization of, "They did it. They finally perfected our mothers recipe!"

The title dish is one that was made popular by chef Thomas Keller, who was the chef consultant on this movie. All the cooking advice you hear in the movie is real advice. Thomas Keller was the guy that asked what the chef had was new.
