Fun fact, some of the Ideas in this movie were actually from the 1971 **manga** version of Kamen Rider by Shotaro Ishinomori. An example of this is from The Man-Spider, as the manga version had multiple arms. Another example is the scars/strips under Hongo's eyes after he transformed as it is a massive reference to the book "My Destination, The Stars" by Alfred Bester, which is also a big influence on Ishinomori and his design work(Once you see the stripes under the eyes, It's hard to not find them). There are multiple parts of the manga slipring into the movie. May I recommend you reading the manga version? It honestly is amazing to see! only 4 volumes. But it packs a punch! For those who wants to view Shin Rider again/can't view it in your country, Shin Kamen Rider will be screening in Hong Kong from 22nd to 25th June, you may consider take a trip to Hong Kong to watch it (And don't worries about the seat-a lot of chair in stock, because the criticism from Taiwan/HK/China to this film was bad...... :/ Let me enjoy it)

I live in Australia and we haven’t even gotten Shin Ultraman yet! Let alone Shin Kamen Rider… Luckily I got to watch it in Japan on a trip, despite being absolutely clueless as to what was going on! Good film!

I like that the SHOCKER combatmen are dressed like edgy art students. Honestly can't wait till it comes out in the states, I heard some of the cgi in it is goofy but so is the cgi in most modern tokusatsu shows. Update: alright so I watched it and enjoyed it a lot. Some of the effects were goofy but it's fine. I know a lot of people think they could just remove the scorpion aug scene, but personally I kind of wish they showed more of the government fighting shocker, since I think it would have shown a bit more of how lethal these augs are and how much havoc they could cause if kamen rider wasn't there. Plus the combatants were also shown to be threatening since scorpion aug was pretty much just sending dudes with lunge mines (bombs on sticks for those of you unfamiliar) to fuck up those military trucks. The end of the last fight scene was a bit anticlimactic but I love the end scene with hayato speaking to Hongo's spirit. I bought the manga a few months before the movie's release and was surprised at how much was lifted from the manga. I wish the multi rider fight in the tunnel was a bit lighter so I could see the action better though. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, especially since I had watched the whole first series in preparation leading up to the release.

Not going into spoilers but just a fun little Toku fact: the silvery person you saw at the end was voiced by Tori Matsuzaka (Shinken Red Takeru) marking his return to a Tokusatsu project since the Goseiger x Shinkenger crossover movie😄

There's a lot that I could say, but the bumper stickers that the "ad break" is set between are a call-back to the original TV series and its own bumper stickers featuring Kamen Rider.

oh Kezza,,,, the movie is straight up cut like that all throughout :((( the only edits in the special is the opening theme song bit and the commercial bumpers, otherwise it’s 1 to 1 with the first 25 minutes of the movie

I am an Asian and was blessed to see this in theater, I knew very little of Kamen Rider going in, it's easy to follow in that regard. However it does feel a bit too much like a compilation movie of a mini series at times. Also the editing for the action scenes feels a bit odd. Over all ot my favorite out of the "Shin" series through it's still a decent watch.

I just watch it from my theater, and I must said I been lie by those who said it is a bad film "Camera that shake a lot".......it increased the feel of Rider and the Augs power........ (Spoiler a bit) The tunnel BIKE and hand to hand fight wasn't that bad in my opinion, I was smiling the whole time despite being short When Ichiro and Hongo died, my theater who was half full of seat(Unexpected), have no one speak a words and I hear someone was blow their nose Unfortunately, we may not see the planned sequel《仮面の世界/Masker World》came out, Toei was aiming to have 65 Billion Box Office (Through there may have a chance for that happen if we buy a lot of Shin merchandise........ but for those who really gonna do it, buy the one YOU LIKED, not all the stuff)

I think I'm firmly in the camp that doesn't like this movie. It was really poorly paced and it was needlessly gory in my opinion, but my main gripe was that nearly all the fighting was CGI instead of suit actors, which really took me out of every action sequence. I understand they probably didn't have a whole lot of budget to work with but it was very cartoon-y in a bad way. It really jumped out at me during the Ichigo vs Nigo fight when it was basically talking, CGI mess into a high jump to another platform, and then more talking. at least with Shin Godzilla, they apparently at least referenced the way that Godzilla moved with the practical suit for their CGI, so it was actually hard to tell that it was CGI and not an old school rubber kaiju suit.

Takeshi dying is something happen in the OG manga, where he got gunned down by 11 Shocker Rider The ending is a 1:1 recreation of the said manga
