I think the real girl couldnt talk bc when she ran into the clone in the mirror room, the clone choked her and broke her neck when dragging her down to the sewers where the rest of them were

@@Honeyyhazellemon No, the boy wasn’t switched. His other had scars on his face and died in the fire. At the end the boy realized the truth that his mother was a clone, so that’s why he looked at her like that.

My theory is during the time he was with the real adelaide (when she kidnapped him) she told him truth about what happened in 1986 or he just realised some of the strange things she does now that he can compare her behaviour to the tehtered.

Basically they swapped places when she was a lil girl, so the clone got to live a normal life on the surface, while the real one had to grow up underground. So the real one had planned revenge by leading the army of clones out the tunnels.
