Saw it in theaters with my mom and brother, and we had a blast. When they announced the casting and people said Timothee Chalmette is terrible for the role, I said "Why? You haven't seen it yet." It also helps that I'm a big fan of musicals. I immediately thought of what it would look like on stage. Overall, it was a blast.

i think this movie is as good as you can get to a perfect prequel of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I have a huge attachment to the original one because I watched it very early in my childhood and fell in love with it immediately, it's been one of my favorite movies of all time since. so when I found out they were making a *prequel* (and not another remake 🙄) I was super excited but also really nervous, because Gene Wilder's performance as Wonka is probably my favorite acting performance that anyone has ever done in any movie or TV show ever, so when I went to watch this movie, having the idea that it's not going to be as good as Gene but still being open minded about the story and everything else really helped me enjoy it so so so much. I absolutely love this movie. I think the songs are so catchy, the story was amazing, the graphics and cinematography are near perfect, and the little hints, details, and songs that they brought back from the original pretty much did it for me. I love that there are so many nods to the original without seeming like just a grab for money to get anyone to like it, but it's its own movie. and it's phenomenal.

I loved this movie when I saw it in theaters! A perfect holiday movie, so feel good and wholesome. I cried when he started singing Pure Imagination. It cemented me as a Timothée Chalamet fan. You should check out Dune for the #bingers, where he plays a completely different type of character.

I use to do washing the oldschool way - I’d have vintage/antique fabrics some of which would be discolored or stained some people would bring them in to be cleaned a modern machine and products would just ruin the fabrics so you had to do it with older methods and with gentle measures. I find it very very relaxing honestly it’s just repetitive motions and takes awhile but it works and it look good. Best tip is just a big ass water bucket and if it’s a white linen use vinegar and baking soda (if you want it to smell nice use some lemon juice) will naturally bleach the fabrics when left to dry in the sun and they look and smell great. - other detergents or like bleach itself can cause the fibers to wear faster as it breaks down the material and sometimes the fragrances can be off putting or result in allergies. *cold water does help the brain wake up there’s scientific studies showing a glass of cold water is more effective then a generic cup of coffee at waking people up into alertness - also dunking in cold water causes the body to react with shock/adrenaline as a natural biological response (it’s why those polar bear challenges are addictive to some people/ice baths help with shocking the system)

If I had known from the start that Wonka was directed by the same guy who gave us Paddington, I would've been so much more excited during its pre-release era. Because I came into this with low expectations and ended up really loving it. The characters are charming and have a surprising amount of depth, the songs are lovely, and the visuals are so creative. Genuinely good stuff. Anyone who loves musicals will love this movie.

@billybinges yes this is willy wonkas origin story and i see you reacted to this in February, i think me and my hubby watched this as well around my bday month in February and LORD lemme tell u my heart was so melted to the floor with this movie, me being a childhood fan with the original willy wonka and the 2005 movie, i knew the original music from the old one and i LOVED they used the original music and this movies soundtrack , it made me tear up when he was helping the little girl find her mother and he was singing the song , i LOVED their bond it was so heartwarming , the guy who played the oompa loompa (srry if thats spelled incorrectly lol) he did the character and the original dance so freaking perfect i praised it that if i had saw this in theaters i probably would have stood up clapping lol 🤭🤭👏👏🤣🤣
