OH! MY! GOODNESS! Danie, I was so taken in, that I leaned in to watch you create! For someone who "doesn't know what she is doing", you are pretty phenomenal!! You thought to create an orgami mask, marked out each section, created a pattern for each part/section, then cut out each metal piece, then welded all together? What! 🤯 I really liked the half mask as well. You are a very talented, creative, and mastermind woman. I am always in awe of what you do and create. Fantastic job! Kenobi must be proud! Enjoy your weekend!!!

I am new to your channel and I absolutely love your work. I am 53 and have always been creative and love trying new things. My family always thinks I'm crazy and can't believe what I try to make. Sometimes I fail, but I tell them it's the trying that makes me happy. I am so glad to see women now a days showing young girls that they can do things that we typically see men doing. I always felt odd when my friends were so astonished that I could build my own sewing desk or dinning table AND that I liked fashion and jewelry just as much. Channels like yours broaden the horizons for the next generations of young women and let them know they can do anything they are interested in. This is what it means to be an "influencer"!

Weavers do this also. Weavers have something we call "thrums" -- lengths of the what's left of the warp yarn (the threads stretched on a loom that we weave into) that we save to use in many other ways. A weaving teacher (a truly wise and kind human) told us a story about going through the studio of a weaver who had died and finding a box, neatly labeled: "thrums too short to use."'

@TheBibi0602 Жыл бұрын
Hi Danie! Im no pro or anything, but I do know a little bit about sculpting, your 1st port of call should be making a metal frame with wire (whether you weld or not is up to you), this should be the structural base and should look like a minimalist sketch of your idea with just lines. You would then cover that structure with flat metal sheeting with the curves of the face, ears, neck etc. After this I would start welding on the bits and bops you found at your dads to accentuate and cover. So imagine how much easier it would have been welding on your template rather than trying to weld and sculpt at the same time x

I sent this to my dad. He is a 'retired' ironworker. He still works, but he is picky about the jobs he does. I remember him studying and preparing to get his welding ticket. He would love it if I learned how to weld. I am not brave enough to try, yet. I make jewellery as a hobby, with beads. Not metal. Yet. Maybe someday.

You did a great job Danie. I love thinking like this, I'm not sure if anyone else does but, all those bits and pieces your dad probably collected over the years , went out to buy for specific reason or was given, thinking they were for a certain job but was infact collecting for you for this moment, the memories attached to them, especially the things in the rolly tool box have memories attached to them and you have now combined them to make an art piece about something you love. I know off the wall and no I don't do drugs it's just the way I think lol
