Welcome Back, I love the honesty and willingness to discuss bad predictions

I would love to see a video comparing the non numbered parallels. Is silver truly the king, does color match really matter, is retail vs hobby exclusive important, do classic solid colors hold up against the new discos, lasers, and cracked ices? Where should we be investing, if low numbers and autos aren’t within reach, or if we prefer to spend a couple hundred on several cards, instead of a single one? I feel like a deep data dive could actually answer these common questions!

I tried the sports card speculation game for three years and realized how incredibly challenging it is to get right consistently. I then looked at the returns of my total stock market index fund over the last three years. With dividend reinvestment, there was no question which yielded more. The speculation game is fun, but in my case, not an overall smart use of money. The cost of 'fun' is sometimes expensive.

Big Stanford fan, thought Ziaire Williams would take the leap with Dillon Brooks and his 15 shots a game leaving the Grizzlies. Right formula, wrong team. Should have got Jalen Johnson on Atlanta.

Jalen Brunson is the only guy from the last 5 years that I’m buying. The Knicks are one piece away and he’s a championship level player. Guys with half his potential are selling for the same or sometimes even more.

I am scratching my head on how FD got a shout out. He’s been wrong more often than not. He’s the same guy that said Jordan Love would be sitting the bench by week 7 😂

One common thread with your 5…. Irrespective of the player picked, how has the rest of the team gone ? Your best performing team right now is a Nets team in the final play-in spot in the East. A tweak for your 24/25 Sneaky 5 could be a player looking good on a team who could be on the rise.

at least Julius Randle didn't have a revolution or galactic RC; so at best it would have been second year. Still low. Pretty interesting Cade isn't down more; but honestly, he's looked really good the past 3-4 weeks before his injury... putting up superstar numbers. It's just nothing around him, Duren's been hurt and Monty wasn't playing Ivey, now he's barely playing Ausar.
@jamiemilcik340511 ай бұрын
Jalen Johnson didn’t meet your search criteria, other than flyin under the radar. Definitely should be in everyone’s mip talks.
@nolas136011 ай бұрын
I don't think Cade is a bust at all, not even close. He's been great for my fantasy compared to a lot of other point guards. His card is going down because Detroit sucks. I don't think their record reflects the talent they have and expect them to improve a lot next year. I'm buying the Cade dip. Of all the players you mentioned I think he'll be ok.
@chickenwing4311 ай бұрын
Investing in players who are not generational talents is a losing proposition. If you like the player and the money is not a big deal for you sure go for it. Citing stats like shooting efficiency or turnovers having an effect on values is laughable.
@johnwaynecollection11 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t call it “investing” at all if you’re not buying generational players. That’s just a basic consumer in the marketplace. 😂😂
@andrewoda888311 ай бұрын
Cade is averaging 22/4/7 on 45% fg and 87% ft…….doesn’t quite fall under one of the worst players in the nba or abysmal shooting category.

i wouldn't buy into any nba players. The last few draft classes aren't that great. 2024 draft class looks questionable too. Not a very good time to prospect imo
@SpursCards2111 ай бұрын
At least you’re consistent! 😀 Starting the graphs in sept right before the season, most players will be down until at least the NFL is over. Sounds like the best time to buy more 😀

Love your breakdowns, always interesting. I feel sorry for you guys out there that just can't help yourself but collect modern NBA cards. There has never in my 35+ years of collecting been a worse product to collect or to follow on the court/field in major American sports than the modern NBA. Hopefully more of you will stop wasting so much money on these overprinted cards of guys who are just competing in an entertainment product of league that is less interesting than the league has been in at least 2 generations.

At first I couldn’t see the Kobe comp with Ant - the play styles differ a bit. But the mentality + intangibles - I am definitely seeing what T Pot means. Cool vid back !

Happy to you see again Teepot. You can never tell what could happen in the NBA. People take a year off in performance and than the next year be a stud. I think there a multiple of factors that could be applied to any and everyone when they are buying cards of these players. Sometimes your picks work and sometimes it doesn’t.

Listen guys you have to adapt with the market if you're going to be successful investing it changes!!! If it's not vintage stuff the only way you can make money right now is to flip as soon someone gets hot and when a new product first comes out because 99.9 percent of the time it's going to go down Stevie Wonder could say that LOL I'm sure most of you are thinking well duhhh lol

You might be wrong for now but all those players except maybe Poole still have a lot of potential. Everybody thought Poole would flourish as being the man on a new team but it seems like he got the man knocked outta him. I got my eye on Jalen Johnson for the Hawks and Jalen Williams for the Thunder right now
@johnwaynecollection11 ай бұрын
Geez…. It’s always laughable watching people continue to spend their hard earned dollars on decent players of the season instead of continuously putting every dollar into goats. Why is it so hard for yall to just wait for Bane, Reaves and others to actually become goats? Lol Every dollar spent speculated, negates every dollar previously earned on real “generational” players. If you’re still buying penny stocks in 2024, you’re a gambler, not an investor.
@sp12311 ай бұрын
All the guys mentioned are role players. The best speculations are great players on middling teams like Luka and Scottie Barnes. Once their teams became competitive, their cards will go up
