I agree that it is a misleading title for the video, it doesn’t mean it isn’t a good video. You said yourself in the beginning about that potential, this time of year, to find something on the shelves or behind the counter that normally Isn’t there and that is what true bourbon hunting is the most fun. That being said you stopped at one store then went and picked up your ER17, which is totally fine. Don’t rely on hype to grow the channel it gets cringey, keep it real and we will keep tuning in. I would love to know how much you paid for your unicorn, you did a good job of showing the details of all the other bottles and the prices. Sure some people will hate but I think myself, and most other people are happy for you. I like to know myself, in case I have a chance for an impulse buy and have some idea of what the market price is. It would be interesting to do a video discussing price ranges on a few allocated bottles and then go try to find them in your area. I “never” see Weller on the shelves like that in my area so I have no baseline to compare and wouldn’t know what a good price was, I rely on this community to learn that stuff.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that sometimes it's the hunt that makes it fun! I paid 145 for the ER17. And I paid 80 for the OF Rye. Usually the rye is over 150 so I was so excited to find it for MSRP. The title of the video was solely for the OF rye because it was a true unicorn for me. I had wanted this bottle for ever however both bottles are true unicorns and I see how it can be a little misleading. Cheers to you my friend and happy new year!

I picked up a stagg jr. at a country liquor store (between Statesboro and Savannah GA.) for $110.00 and I was pretty stoked. The place literally had plywood shelves in parts of the store but I’m not judging. 😎 My wife LOVES Eagle Rare, so a 17 year is definitely on our unicorn list right now too, Congrats bro.

A store near me opens every bottle for customers to try. The cock of the walk was surprisingly tasty. It's on my list of bottles to buy. At around 100$ it's in the realm of other good bourbons in that price point

Great video as always. I recall having the Cock of the Walk during a Preservation Distillery tasting at my local store. In my opinion, the Cock of the Walk and the Old Man Winter stood out amongst the lineup and beat out the Old St Nicks. The Cock of the Walk was my favorite from the lineup and is a great wheated bourbon. It’s also more affordable than the other offerings from Preservation. I would definitely recommend picking it up.

That Ragged Branch Wheated Double Oak that was at Joe Canal's is fantastic! Def should have grabbed a bottle of that one. The George Dickel 15 Year's are incredible too if you find one that's over 100 proof.

@@EverydayDrinker They're a grain-to-glass distillery down in Virginia. Tomar's in South Jersey has store pick of the Wheated Double Oak. I bought 1 bottle, then went back and grabbed 2 more. I've heard mixed things about their BiB's, but I haven't personally tried them.
