I went Bourbon Hunting in the Chicago Suburbs & here's what I found

I’m in the Burbs. Don’t pass up on JEWEL OSCOS. You can find some good deals. 2 months ago I was out in the Lisle area for training for a week. I hit a few OSCOS after every day. Over the week was able to get a bookers 23-3 for $85. Got 2 1792 single barrel for $42 each. And 2 weller SR @ $32 (left 6 on the shelf for other people)

I always stop in at the Jewel back home! (I’m from Lombard) saw a JD BP Rye last week but it didn’t have a price tag haha. It was in the bonded rye spot lol Great price on the bookers! My dad usually gets me Eagle Rare at Jewel for $38! Cheers Paul! thanks for watching and commenting!

First store has a great selection. Lucky Seven is very good. I have Proprietor 15 Year, The Hold Up 14 Year, The Hold Up 9 Year, Proprietor 6 Year Single Barrel, Holiday Toast, The Frenchman, The Jokester 6 Year and The Workhorse. All are good. The only Four Gate I bought are The Kelvin Collaboration V and Kelvin 60. Paid $189 each for both. Would not pay $230-$240. The Best J Henry is the 2022 LE Anniversary Blend, if you can find it. Big fan of Fox and Oden. I found Mallory’s by accident and they have awesome store picks. I found Barrel #35 there months before Binny’s got it. Famous Liquors famously high prices. 🥃

I like the way you slowly go through the store and show the prices. Great selections and prices at those stores. Love to see store picks and availability of double oaked peerless, cigar blend, NuLu, Lucky 7, and starlight's. We get ER in s Florida at less than $40 all day. Good video.

I live in the suburbs of Chicago as well. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw those prices at Famous Liquors a few weeks ago when I went in. The lady working the counter was very rude too. I almost burst out laughing when I saw that price on Twice Barreled as well. Great videos sir! Subbed 👍🏻

Malloy's is the best store out of all of them in my opinion. They do a great job getting unique store pics in and there is always something new on a weekly basis it seems. You should have picked up the Cooper & Cask while you were there. It is amazing and I liked it so much I went back for a second back up bottle. I've only been in Famous liquors once and the pricing was just insane and I never went back. Sal's is OK but I've only bought one $30.00 bottle from them. They never seem to get anything special there . I do know when they charge about 80.00 for E.H. Taylor Small Batch when they do get it in and Eagle Rare is pricey, but not at 99.99 that Famous Liqueurs charges.

Malloy’s picks are fantastic. Have gotten to know the owner fairly well. I need to make it out for one of their master classes sometime soon. I need to try that Cooper & Cask pick! I have a buddy who has one. Famous is INSANE now with their prices. And Sal’s certainly has gone up. A friend just told me they offered a MWND today to him for $210. That’s worse than Famous!

The retail on MWND has gone up this year. Retail at Binnys is 179.99 And yeah, I'm not wasting my time ever going back to Famous ever again. The lady behind the counter told me they sold a regular Blantons for 300.00 one time. I don't know who in their right frame of mind would pay that.@@whiskey_weather

First store had overall decent prices but nothing I'd consider "cheap". $100 for Old Ezra 7 is way overpriced. Remus at $155 is pretty bad when at $89-100 at other stores. 2nd store was pretty solid but mostly standard shelfers (although many bottles I've never seen here in Atlanta so that store would had taken my money for sure!). @@whiskey_weather

Prices are all over the place in Indy. 2 stores 55, 80+ at others, behind the counter with no price at one store, and finally a lottery item at one.

Kroger on 135, also carries 4RBS for 82 which is outstanding. Also Victory I believe it's called on 135, small store solid deals. Bardstown discos for good prices and found a Blood Oath 9 there for 115.

Went to Louisville back in November looking for Peerless double oak. Wasn't able to get to the distillery on our trip but the 4 or 5 stores we went to didn't have it. Lol Malloy's is 25 minutes from my house, all I had to do was go there to find it for MSRP. Malloy's is one of the best stores in all of the chicagoland/suburbs area. Went in there a few months ago to grab a Ben Holladay and walked out with that and a 10yr Willett purple top. Plus they run pretty regular masterclass tastings with various distilleries and the few I've been to are awesome. I wish they paid me to fanboy over them lmao

Nice vid. Had to laugh at the museum store and the sign on Kentucky Owl St Patrick bottle saying limit 1 per customer. They made that years ago and it still sits on shelves everywhere around the nation. A decent 60 bottle and a joke at over 80. Store like that I refuse to spend a dime at

The Ben Holladay BiB is really good IMO but for $60 I don't think its 33% better than Heaven Hill BiB. Sagamore Double Oaked is a buy all day for me.

That Sagamore Double Oak is fantastic. And I like me the HH BiB as well. I think that and the Ben Holladay are going about the same in taste to me, but the HH is about $10 cheaper by me. I know out in the Chicago burbs HH BiB is popping up around $40-45 now which is great to hear/see

New sub just from this video as Binny’s is a bucket list place for me. I remember them having KILLER Redemption Rye wax top BP picks around 2014-2016. Man those were the days for amazing whiskey at reasonable prices. Keep doin what you’re doing and cheers!

Not only would I not pay $99 for a Henry McKenna, I wouldn't buy anything from a store like this even at MSRP. Just buying beer at close to MSRP from this place allows them to keep the lights on and continue to gouge customers on other products. Thanks for the video. How much was the Willett 8yr Wheat? I just bought one. It ranges from $299-$399 in Southern Illinois. Found it at Liquor Locker in Evansville, Indiana for $248. I just bought Driftless Glen Rye and the Original. I like it.

Yeah, if you see that Indians own the store, always expect to pay more! The good news is that they will deal and work with you on the price. It may be a cultural thing where they start high then negotiate like it's an open air market.
