I think I’m less anxious about the money itself but more anxious about the fact that I feel “behind” in the money department. My salary and the things that I own are very much less than other people my age and it brings me a lot of stress when I think about it but when it comes down to it, I have everything I need and a lot of what I want.

I totally agree with everything you said, especially about marrying a rich man... I've had so so many people in my life tell me if I want the life I say I do I need to "marry rich" I hate this so much and I think it's crazy how many people still believe in this toxic ideology

@@ZoePritchard You know what's so sick about you and why you are so mentally ill? People on here listen to you spewing your crap but the fact of the matter is that you are just merely repeating what your therapist tells you about yourself and yet you deliver it to all these people that watch your KZbin channel as if you are some sort of a psychological Guru when in fact you are trying to be condescending to other people so as to make yourself feel and look good. By the way, life isn't about feelings and life isn't about shopping to feel good which is the main theme of your empty existence. Repeating what you hear from your therapist as if you are some sort of a therapist yourself only displays how crazy you are. Manipulating other people's thoughts and even your own thought is obscene!

Omg I also had the same resentful mindset on gifts. I don’t like getting gifts it wasn’t a big deal to me but I know the people in my life enjoy gifts. I had to change it in my budget from “gifts” to “giving” because it feels less like an obligation lol. My mindset is changing daily when it comes to money.

I am also pretty anxious about money, even though I have enough saved up to not worry I feel the need to work as much as possible and often restrict myself of things I want and save the price instead. But it's getting better the more "security money" I save and invest

Oh yeah! I switched to cash envelopes a few years ago, 5 envelopes, 100€ each, labeled week 1 through 5, then each week I'd put 80€ in one compartment of my wallet for groceries including hygiene/self-care products (I don't wear makeup or do my nails/hair, just a haircut every 6 months), and 20 € in another compartment for my weekly outing to the pub where I eat with friends. At the end of each week, I put any bill left in an envelope labeled "spare" and the coins in a jar. Those coins pay for my laundry. And those spare bills are what I won't need to withdraw the following month (if the spare envelope has 50€ in it at the end of the month, I will only withdraw 450€ and put 50 extra € in savings). For extra spendings, I have a "minimum reserve" system in my savings that grows every month. So for example if my minimum reserve is at 2000€ right now and I have 2200€, I could spend 200 on clothes, shoes or equipment (I'm planning to build a home gym, so I'm saving my extra reserve for that). I only allow myself to go below the minimum reserve for emergencies like if my car broke or one of my pets needs to be taken to the vet. I don't go on vacation using that money!! My dream is to go live in Peru one day and that's how I'm saving up for it. I've also set up a life insurance that I'm not allowed to use until that project is starting. So basically, I went from broke and my account most of the time below zero to saving 500€ a month (+ extra cash) ! Next savings source : the 300€ a month I spend on smoking 😬

I'm still a bit anxious about money but definitely feeling better. Knowing that what you currently have is enough is definitely important! Your examples of how to think positively about different situations were amazing and definitely made me want to think more positively too! Gratitude is a big one for me! I catch myself thinking how grateful I am for my apartment, the people in my life or other things that we would normally brush off and wouldn't think about. Beautiful video Zoe ❤

Cash envelope system works as a single person or a couple. there will always be blurred lines when you have a family and that system will only go so far. I really agree with putting the thought into what you buy and how that makes you feel a lot better. I was so surprised when you said you don't like spending money on other people. I think this video is geared towards a very young crowd. Appreciate the growth you are working towards.

Thanks for this video 🔅 I personally work on the fact that I « overspent » compare to my budget and it annoys me even if I know I do have the money and I won’t be broke because of these expenses ! I once heard someone said « you don’t have continuous money problem ». Meaning that when I brush me teeth, I’m at work, with friends, reading, etc. money isn’t an issue or a topic to focus on, just live and have money réflexions when you are using it !

Hi Zoe, another wonderful video. I use cash envelopes for my variable expenses and remember how empowering it was to feel my money in my hands. On the topic of gifts/giving/being generous…I had the opposite problem! I had no problem spending on people but I always felt guilty and stressed about how much people are spending on me cause I never want people to think I expect it and don’t want it to cause stress in their life! I’m trying to work on approaching being more positive and grateful that someone wanted to do something nice for me! Haha

hii!! honestly it’s all about repetition for me… deciding to change the way im thinking/talking to myself and making that decision over and over again. I know that might sound kind of vague, but for me it seems to all come down to how I talk to myself. So changing the way I talk to myself from “im so broke i dont want to buy gas” to “im so grateful to have a car, im abundant and can fill my tank” over and over again. 💖
