I went back to Venezuela after 7 years, and I got to be a tourist in my home country. If you've ever wondered what it's like to live and fly in Venezuela, here's a sneak peek to that. Thanx for sharing your experience returning and the flying. I had a similar experience this winter flying in Mexico…I spent some time there as a kid and hadn’t been back in over 20 yrs due to the narco violence…flew in Colima and Tepalpa, felt so good to be back in country, sad to see some of the disparities, so encouraging though to feel the warm embrace from the locals and see the smiles on their faces and in their hearts despite their challenges.

It's hard to tell whether it's safe. Although I felt pretty safe in Caracas in general and in Trujillo, I've been told it's not the case in other places. I guess, it depends where you go.
