On Samhain night, I joined members from each of the provinces of Ireland to recreate the traditional celtic pagan ceremony that gives it origins to Halloween. Organised by the Púca Festival and Fáilte Ireland, we had the honour of participating in a very unique experience.

Actually many European pagans have that holiday. They have just not preserved that tradition. In slavic countries they celebrated the day of Veles and it had almost the same meaning and was celebrated at the same day.

@@Maggiesgardens Ok luv. But allow me to educate you. Im a Londoner born and bred. My dad was Indian and my mum was Ethiopan. Paki is a British term made up by British and Irish Catholics in the 1950's. The British and Irish Catholics used it as a way to take the piss out of the strange accent and strange facial features of the newly arrived Pakistanis and Indians into Britain and LATER Ireland. In a similiar fashion, the British and American Protestants made up the word Nigger in the 1920's in Britiain and America - whilst British and Irish catholics made up the word Paki in the 1950's in Britain and LATER Ireland. NIGGER came from the word NEGRO in Britain and America during the 1800's and was made up by British and American Protestants as a way of degrading the facial features and strange accent of Blacks. PAKI came from the word PAKISTANI in the 1950's in Britain and LATER Ireland and was made up by the British and Irish Catholics as a way of degrading the facial features and strange accent of south Asians. But The Catholics and the Protestants were NOT cruel to people purely on the basis of skin complexion. Here is the proof........... Irish Catholics loved Blacks - but hated Indians. On the other hand, American and British Protestants hated Blacks - but loved Indians. This proves that neither the Irish Catholics OR the British /American Protestants were ever racist to people on the basis of skin colour. These certain prejudices simply arose on the basis of certain cultural clashes in the communities combined with differences in the phenotypical facial structures of the various individuals in question which made people feel uneasy. It was NOT (and never) based on skin complexion as NONE of the White Celtic peoples in Britain were ever racist to people purely on the basis of the colour of their skin.

@@shaunigothictv1003 Yes, I understand that. But as far as me being burnt at the stake, Like I said, they did worse. I am Irish, of Monaghan and I know my history well. Would not have mattered what colour I was, but as a Peaceful pagan, I still would have been killed, simply because I didn't believe in one supreme male deity, but many, Male, female and other.
@shaunigothictv1003
@shaunigothictv1003 2 жыл бұрын
@@Maggiesgardens I get what your saying luv. Heres the thing. I believe in the divine mother feminine. You assign both MALE and FEMALE attributes to the divine creator/Gods so obviously me and you disagree sweetheart. Whoever the divine creator/s (plural) is - I do not believe that it/they are a male entity. I think of God as purely a feminine creator. Think about it luv. Who wrote the Bible and quran? Both books were written by blokes, right? So obviously those blokes were trying to understand the world around them and they put things into a male perspective. So they referred to God as HE. Thats where I disagree with them as I worship God in the feminine creator. But you say God has both gender attributes. Thats seems weird to me but each to their own luv.

@Anarcho Christian I can't answer for Pastel, but as a pagan myself, I will personally be lighting a candle in the window for the Aos Si and wandering spirits, making some pastry offerings, and feasting! I may video chat some friends as well (one would normally host or attend a great feast in person but what with the dreaded plague, it is best to stick indoors). Lastly, I will be tending my hearth fire servitors, and drinking a brew of mugwort tea before bed to make the most of the thin veil for some interesting dreams. There are pagans all over the world who celebrate Samhain, not just Ireland (though I myself am English, currently based in Wales).
@FizzyDrink2098

Yes! Not a lot of the Irish who practice it are Pagan, those are Irish who just still connect to their indigenous roots despite the religion they identify with. I’m apart of a family that has practiced it for a long time and are still Pagan.

Beautiful ceremony. This year's Samhain will seem especially heavy given how things are globally in autumn of 2020, and it will be a long time before gatherings like this can be held again. But the season and holiday will still come upon us, as they always do, and may it be filled with the warmth of remembrance, good food and drink, and the presence of loved ones from both sides of the veil. Blessed be.

The West. I've forgotten most of my Celtic mythology, but it's because it's a Solar based religion and the sun-set is in the West,yes? I just wanted to know and share, because what I've studied most recently, the Hermetic art,and the (practical) Kabbalah, the quarter that rules Death is the North, because of its attribution to the Element of Earth, and hence all that is material and passes. All that aside, I fell in love with Celtic Mythology and Druidism (as much as someone that grew up in the 90's North American New Age "Fad" could have) first, and I must say, what a beautiful Ceremony.

Thanks for your video. I'm curious to learn the Celtic culture. But also I'm impressed of the ceremony that was done at the end of this video to show love and respect to the people that had lost their lives and we're sacrificed. This shows that learning Celtic culture and music and dance and teaching it is good. But also it helps to give a story of caution when it comes to curiosity. Because curiosity can lead people astray as the pagans. They can become so curious to join cults and not know what there getting themselves into. Can you please help me to get more information on how to protect and sheild against the dark forces?

I doubt the accuracy of these rituals since the druids did not write anything down and kept everything secret

The Druidical Colleges for the most part morphed into Christian monasteries. They certainly wrote a lot, preserving not just Latin and Greek texts but also a huge amount of pre-Christian culture. The Druids themselves were well acquainted with writing systems but eschewed them as they claimed writing vulgarised the memory. They committed enormous amounts of knowledge to memory with the aid of poetic metre.
