Nothing like hunting for the classics. I get more enjoyment out of looking for the older books than reading the new ones nowadays. Love that Batman "This is the end" comic and the Neal Adams book with Wildcat on the front cover. Here lately I enjoy hitting the monthly flea market and diving into the $1.00-3.00 dollar bins. There I can find comics I don't really collect, but want to pick up just to check them out. So fun to find a gem in those boxes. Great video Babs!

I'm so glad you gave it another shot! I have two daughters and my youngest daughter 20 y/o loves collecting, her favorites are Daredevil, Elektra, and Wondergirl! I had a few of those "Pretty Woman" type moments way back in the 1980/90s. Clique dealers who judged you by your appearance. The thing was I had a great paying job at the time and money was burning holes in my pockets. I asked a dealer about the Amazing Spider-Man #1 on the wall and I was shrugged off, walked to the dealer next to him, looked at his #1 and bought it. The other dealer saw me slamming down the £340 on the table and his face was a picture. I like the Spectre books you picked up, very cool.

Thanks for sharing this, and I'm sorry those shows of the early eighties were so non inclusive. I also hit up shows for old Lois Lanes, Patsy Walkers, etc. and conventions are still the best outlet for those specific books.

I just made a video of my childhood collection being cracked open after 40 years in my dad’s closet. I have a few 12-15 cent romance comics in a different box that you’re probably familiar with… I would likely have bought almost every comic you did at that show! Lol 😂❤

Magic Lasso is great. The Small shows have so much MORE NICER people, personalities, better comic books and nicer atmosphere. The parking lots do get crowded. But the people and THE MERCHANTS are great. I regularly go to a show in Annandale, virginia ( a bit far for you) but its great. Shoffs Promotions.

Hi, I just stumbled across your channel and I really liked your video. I am happy for you that you took the risk and gave this convention a chance. I remember my convention visits in the 90‘s where there were no female comic fans present at all and if there was a woman present all men looked in awe as if this girl was an exotic alien from another planet. Good thing that things have changed now and most male comic fans a married and have a life and don‘t just know a woman from tv or a magazine. It‘s great that you collect Neal Adams artwork. I am a huge fan of his work, myself. Do you know his work from his Continuity label he had back in the 80‘s? He did some great artwork for Samuree or Megaalith. Anyway, I just subscribed to your channel and will keep watching.

😎Been a while since I've been to a show. Just a few years because of other obligations but same as yourself I had an experience at my first visit to a Comic Con back in the early 70s. I can bet when you went at that time the vendors and visitors felt like your presence was an intrusion and that you were interested in only Romance ( which today is gaining much interest) and Humor (Teen/Funny Animals ; which those numbskulls couldn't appreciate). That's still the misconception today on some channels showing GA /SA books when they speculate on previous owners of books , always assuming that girls read only Wonder Woman or "girl" genres. 🤓Ha! Tell that to My M❤M and to The Hernandez (Love and Rockets) Brothers M❤M! My experience was not unexpected just mildly frustrating , I guess. I was the only brown skinned guy there and when I got into conversations about comics people were surprised that I knew what I was talking about. Neal and Jim Aparo on Spectre and Wildcat (one of my all time favorites) 🎯🎯🎯! I loved reading those SA Spectre issues. Superman/Superboy books , gotta love them. Haul yeah you got some cool books!
