Jews, true Bible believing Christians and gypsies also got many things in common, not least almost two centuries of being outcast and persecuted in Europe. Almost as many gypsies as Jews perished in the terror of WW2, did you know. Actually, also many Protestant believers, even pastors, were taken into concentration camps. One example is Niemeyer, look up his famous poem, Once They Came For.... which also should be thought provoking in our times, where the genocidal maniacs in control attempts to start the next world war.

I am by the way a Dane. There is basically two fractions within the Lutheran church here, and now I talk about the believing part and not all the modern day progressives (which they call themselves), who really are unbelievers: Inner Mission, a Pharisee style cult really and Grundtvigians. Grundtvig were a great hymn writer, who also founded the Danish bording school system for young adults, where they could go and learn things of culture and faith. The symbol of that fraction within the Danish church, and why I tell you all this, is the Menorah! To be precise, exactly the cross and the Menorah!

Thank you Pastor Chris, for taking us to a gypsy tent meeting. Really enjoyed the interview with the gypsy chap, you can tell he speaks from the heart. Nearly 4,000 miles away and I have had the same type of life changing experience upon meeting Jesus, as you Brits and Gypsies do. Glad to see Jesus making the rounds. 😀 It's so nice to see and feel brothers in arms that are on the other side of the world giving true worship to our only King, Savior and Lord Jesus. In the modern lackluster U.S. Church, not enough is said about Holiness, Sin, Repentance and coming to the healer of our souls. We need a revival here too. Thanks again Pastor Chris. 🤗

❤️ My French parents both got baptised in the river by a gysy pastor after a tent meeting in their local town in France in the late 1960s. The evangelistic outreach was organised by "Vie et Lumière", the gypsy organisation in the UK called "life and light". My mum had left the Catholic church and was going with my dad to the protestant church at the time, but the leaders of the church wouldn't agree to full immersion baptisms. This was literally God's answer to their desire to be properly baptised. I've spent so many evenings growing up at such meetings over the years when they were coming back to our town. I'm a Christian now, but my main concern at the time, though, wasn't the preaching but keeping my eyes on the grass to make sure I wasn't surrounded by spiders 🤦🏻♀️ My parents made lifelong friends there, some of them are now with the Lord waiting for them.

Light & Life is world wide. I am a Gypsy Historian and my Dissertation eons ago was about the Historic Irish Shelta Gypsies . The Irish Gypsy History goes back to the Bible, and is older than even Welsh Celtic History. King/Earl Andrew was an Anglicisation of Abraham , and Andrews close relative was King/Earl Martin of Ireland 🇮🇪, Martin was an Anglicisation of Moses. Jacob and Essau were twins. Jacob stole Essaus Birthright for a Pottage . Essau wept and said to Issac “Bless thou me oh my Father , hast thou not preserved even one blessing for me “ Issac said that Essaus blessings were to be in mountainous places at the edge of Society . The Gypsies Transmigrated from Egypt 🇪🇬 hence the name Gypsy , to India 🇮🇳 e.g The tall Lamani Gypsies, the small Gudjerati Gypsies , The Kumbis , Cobras etc etc . Many still live in forests in India and the Indian Authorities are not even aware of them. Along with the Jews and others over three Million Eastern European Gypsies were murdered in the Holocaust. There are Muslim Gypsies, Hungarian Jewish Gypsies like Djengo Rhienhart the musician . The Irish King Essau Smith was Crowned Gypsy King at Kirk Yetholm , Borders Scotland by Gypsy Leon Petulengro . At the old Church of England , the Baillie Brothers (Theologians were given the Lords heart and love of the Gypsies .) Their History is fascinating and now the Lord has raised up educated Gypsy Historians .

You're correct, they sing songs not normally sung in mainstream church. When I enter I receive a blessing from every person and when I leave they want to talk and are happy to embrace you as a Brother / Sister in Christ. They do not compromise on the message to one another. I heard there were 7000 adults and 2000 youth at one outreach in July. 800 youth gave their lives to the Lord. Yes, God is doing an amazing work among these People and they are aware of their past reputation among the community. They don't just turn up, they get permission but won't know which part of the area they are allowed to camp. It's a amazing to worship with these people who are so open and free. Remember many of them don't know how to read but they are learning thanks to the Holy Spirit. I have never been so blessed and loved among believers until I met these people. It all came about thanks to one young man who invited me to a Christmas Service and from them we meet occasionally and share what God has been doing.

@glennrobins Strong's is only a dictionary that helps you to understand the various ways that a word has been translated in the KJV and possibly used in a context. You don't need a Strong's Dictionary to tell you how to seek God and by no means is it an authoritative manual on matters of expression of Christian faith. Would the following scriptures support the idea and actions of a REVIVAL of our spirit, a reestablishment to commitment and a renewed repentance to a Holy God? Where we do this is no business of anybody's but our own. Psalm 85:6: “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” 2 Timothy 1:6 (ISV) For this reason, I am reminding you to fan into flames the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands. OLD TESTAMENT 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Isaiah 57:15: “For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.’” Hosea 6:2: “After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.” Habakkuk 3:2: “LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” NEW TESTAMENT James 4:8: “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” Acts 3:19: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Ephesians 5:14: “For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, ‘Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’” 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Yay. Warm memories of growing up in the Scottish Highlands very, very close to gypsies who would live in a wooden 'chalet' on a slope on the edge of the woodlands. The women were always dressed very colourfully. Then, grown up and living in NW England, we met and mingled with Christian gypsies and we were honoured to be invited into one of their spectacular caravans. Years later, our town had a settlement of gypsies and the Christians met in an old church in the town centre called the 'tin church'. Whether they rented it or bought it, I don't know. I heard that one of the descendants of the Highland gypsies wrote a book about her family and the history of her 'clan'. Fascinating. Fantastic preaching. I love your call to the highways and byways. Long may it continue. ❤❤❤

@con_boy that has nothing to do with revival. The size of the tent is irrelevant. Let's do the statistics, there's around 42 L&L churches in the UK, where I live. There are around 7-8 churches, and each church are lucky to have 50 people each week, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Let's say consistency ther's 100 people who attend consistently each week in the UK that's 4200 people, ther's estimated to be around 500 thousands or more gypsies and travellers in the UK, so where is the revival? The numbers speak for itself.

Hi Chris, I knew a pastor Paul Fox from New Mexico that spent about half the year in Romania ministering. He told me about being in a big open air meeting and the Lord told him to read Psalm 109 which is about the curses on Judas and his family. When he was finished reading he asked, "Who wants to be free of this curse?" The hands of 300 gypsies went up. They prayed to break these generational curses. He told me that he had been to India and Africa, but never seen poverty like he saw among the gypsies. He believed the daughters of Judas became the Gypsies. Read Psalm 109. He really believed that the day would come when the Iron Curtain would go up again and it would be the gypsies that God would use to preach the Gospel all over. I run "Fellowship of the Martyrs" out of Missouri, USA and we've been praying for the gypsies for many years. I'd love to talk to you more about it.

I am *ashamed!* Thank you, Chris, for highlighting this. I am a very poor evangelist, but am a 'thing' in my church fellowship, I won't say what, according to some. I believe I do what I do for the Lord, and not for praise from anyone, maybe some false humility on my part, IDK, but I will mention this to my prayer group and vicar, a on-fire, Spirit-filled, foursquare Bible person, because my OE on my Kindle isn't sending anything out as shares or e-mails. 🙄😕. Thank you, again. Shalom.
