I’m still watching and about in tears… I NEEDED to see this. I had a really bad car wreck in 2020 and suffered a spinal cord injury and thanks to physical therapy and dieting I wouldn’t be where I am today! So thanks to this video I am going to go on the strict diet and exercise plan like you are on! Thank you so much for sharing such a personal experience! You are going to be part of the reason my life changes forever! ❤️🙏 much love from a fellow DDiver ❤

Thank you guys for sharing this. My mom has chronic pain on of her hips and in some ways I think it saved her life. She went to get an MRI for Rhumatoid Arthritis and they actually ending up picking up cancer on the scan. She is almost 2 years cancer free too with next to no chance of coming back. Now she has some mobility issues and uses a walker and cane. But she still has exercises to do and feels good most days.

In 2010 16:14 I had to go to a regular doctors appointment but my doctor was not there and they had me see the nurse practitioner instead. Well she told me to sit down and when I did she looked at me then got this weird look on her face. I looked at her and asked what was wrong and she told me to look into the mirror on the wall and she asked me what I seen, I told her nothing. She said she wanted to take by pulse and blood pressure, then she left and came back with a EKG machine then told me that she was going to call for a rescue squad that I was on deaths door. My heart rate was 209 and I was going to stroke out if I didn’t get to the hospital. Well during all this she tell me that I have a growth on my thyroid and she believed that that was causing all my problems. She said that my thyroid was overacting and that was the reason that I could never gain weight and that it was probably the reason why I lost three pregnancy out of 7. Well in the weeks to come I had to have my thyroid removed and placed on medication for the rest of my life. Well the reason I went to the doctor in the first place was because my whole body is always in pain and I was told that RA and was waiting for a referral to go see my Rheumatologist again to see what they could do for me, well nothing like usual. Well the specialist tells me that I also have Fibromyalgia and he thought that that was what was causing all my pain. We now that I’m 60yrs old that my back problems are so bad that I have to walk with a walker with a bench on it because I can only walk a few feet before I have to sit down or I fall down. Well one broken arm that took over a year to heal I don’t want a repeat so I sit. I have back pain that feels like I get electrocuted and it runs straight up my spine and its a burning pain. Most of the time I’m in so much. pain I want to scream my head off if it were possible to happen. My pain controls my life and I hate it. I try to keep my hands busy to ignore the pain but that don’t always work. So I am hoping you could tell me more about this diet as well. I have diabetes type 2 and can you be on this diet being a diabetic because I hope so, I have gained so much weight that I feel like a beached whale calf, please HELP!

Thank you Stephen & Steph. I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, with Lumbar Fusion Surgery, Knee Replacements in both knees, and Alkalosing Spondylitis with curvature of my shoulders causing neck pain, shoulder pain, and Thoracic Back Pain. This has been going on since the early 1980’s. I have poor sleep, can’t relax, etc. I also have had alternating bouts of chronic diarrhea and constipation equated to IBS, for all these years! I have been to a Rheumatologist, Orthopedics, Gastroenterologists and Primary Care Doctor, also a Pain Clinic, & only 1 of them mentioned Leaky Gut. But none of them suggested a treatment or cure and. NONE OF THEM mentioned AIP! I guess seeing all these different doctors means that all of them don’t know what the other one is doing and they didn’t put the whole picture together. I plan to start working on the AIP diet immediately. Today is the last day of eating all this junk! I’m tired of being sick and tired. I am so glad I watched this episode today. You may have just given me a whole new lease on life! You 16:47 are both so special! ❤❤

It's kind of disturbing to think that all the processed stuff we eat alone is the cause for a lot of illness and/or causes the symptoms of many illnesses to manifest. I have psoriatic arthritis. I became disabled at age 47. I’m 59 now. There is too much damage to my spine. But I was in a plane crash in 1985. So I had damage before I got the arthritis. I eat gluten free. But I found that out on my own. My rheumatologist never told me to eat gluten free. And I watch everything on psoriatic arthritis. I’m in Tennessee and the doctor here are just pitiful! My daughter will be a pharmacist soon. And we are relocating to Florida to be near her. I can be treated at her hospital. I did get a spinal cord stimulator in 2013. Love it. I will get it replaced at some point. Be your own best nurse and doctor.

Just listening to you guys just gives me a little bit of hope because I have fibromyalgia and I have about 90% of the symptoms, the really bad symptoms and one is extreme pain all the time all over my body I ache all the time like I have a really really bad flu and the exhaustion is horrible.. lack of concentration... There are literal days where I can't get out of bed. And on a good day or what I call a good day where I have less pain I go and I do things things I need to do things I need to get caught up on because I had been able to do anything for a long time and then I pay for it afterwards for days and days.. I'm really really happy for you!!! I'm glad to hear that somebody has been able to improve their life on their own and not have to rely on doctors and medications because the medications they want to put me on or horrible absolutely horrible They make you like a zombie they make you gain weight there's just too many side effects. Therefore I don't take them... And I pay for it everyday with pain. But at least I know I'm not putting that toxic crap in my body. Again congratulations to you and I hope you keep improving!! 🙏👍🙂

I’ve had chronic pain for the past 40 years, since I was 13 years old, I had an injury 40 years ago on my back which we know now badly damaged discs in my lumber area of my spine, for. Most of my life all the drs said it was because I was tall, then 25 years ago I saw a new surgeon who told me I needed surgery, to cut a very long story, I had surgery which brought on degenerative disc disease, and rheumatoid arthritis, so now I’ll be in agony for the rest of my life needing more surgery, I changed my diet just like you Steve it helped a little for the arthritis but not my back. I’m so happy you’ve found some relief, living in chronic pain isn’t nice

It's good thing, you share this. 20 years ago my shouldres were so badly locked down with Arthritis, that i took me forever to put on a shirt or a jacket and I was in pain doing it. I thought, I'm too young for this, but a friend said go to the doctor and have it look at. I did, got painkillers and was sent to a specialist. She gave me a list of exerciees to do - and a big shot of dope, so I could get started. I woudn't have started without them, because I was so in pain. Since then, I've done the exercices and started going to the gym 3-4 times a week. Now it's almost gone - when I keep up the exercices, watch out what I'm doing etc. I used to do a lot of knitting, I would knit for hours - can't do that anymore, because it means you do the same moment again and again. The same thing with doing embroidery - can only do for limited timespans now. So when I knit or embroider, I set my alarmclock to 45 minutes. That's a days ration - and that max 2 days in a row. And I had to let the thought of taking up Karate again go, because you use your shoulder joints a lot in Karate - which I loved doing. But then you find other things to do. Many times Arthritis and other stuff can be delt with doing exercice, diet etc. and painkillers/medicin as the last resort. Stay healthy and strong Steven - with the help from Steph. ❤

Wow, listening to you talk about AS is bringing tears to my eyes. Everything you describe, I empathise with, having ‘suffered’ with AS for 30 years. I too used to get bad uveitis and only cope with the pain through exercise and medication. I wish I could be as strong as you and try the diet (way of eating) you are on. So pleased that your rheumatology appointment went so well. Thanks so much for sharing x

Thanks for sharing your diagnosis. I have been suffering with chronic pain since 2014. I was diagnosed with spondylitis and sent to a neurosurgeon. After many, X-rays, cat scans and MRI’S he convinced me he could get rid of my pain. I followed his advice and had both of Sacroiliac joints fused. He also put a spacer in my neck. Needless to say all he did for me was charge me a lot of money. Three separate surgeries each a month apart. I have been in more pain since those surgeries and it just worse. I am going to try the AP diet. I hope it helps me like it helped you.

Steve so sorry to learn your diagnosis but amazed at how well you have handled it. I am 65 and have spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease and stenosis among a host of other problems including fibromyalgia. I am not able to exercise but am going to look into the diet that you have done. Currently am going to a chronic pain clinic and recently have tried a chiropractor but nothing has helped me. It’s hard having these problems that aren’t obvious by just looking at you. People say well you look fine to me but don’t understand the agony I go through every day. I am raising 2 grandchildren so I have to be active. I’ve had them all their lives and they are now teenagers that help me with housework and such. Keep doing what your doing Steve, I’m gonna try this.

Love you guys appreciate your honesty, I have been suffering for a long time so far no diagnosis. Dr thought I had sjogrens syndrome, rheumatologist said no ,he said I had arthritis in neck and shoulders, had x-rays, no arthritis! I'm getting depressed and I'm tired of pain, mostly in my arms.sometimes in my legs ,it's frustrating to hurt when washing my hair or reaching for anything. THnks for inspiration to keep on.

I am now finding how very very important self advocacy is as my primary doctor who also did my OMT is no longer at the practice. It is a large practice with several satellite offices. And I have been assigned someone I do not know as my primary with no OMT therapy. So, I am asking around through the satellite offices to see who I might find that fits the bill either doing both or two people one of each. So far a few referrals we shall see what happens

Thank you so much for Sharing this! I have been on life support every 5 to 6 months now for almost 4 years... Everytime they try a put me on a bpap machine but all it does is give me severe headaches and anxiety! Everytime I get sent home with some off the wall reason but not a diagnosis.. The very first time I was on life support I had been transferred to a trauma Hospital about 1½ from where I live I had a UTI that turned Sepsis, on the way I had my first heart attack... Once I got there I asked for my husband and once I saw him I felt safe and passed out again so while the Doctor was intubating me I had another massive heart attack! I went into kidney failure, heart failure and respiratory failure they were not sure if I would make it.. My poor husband called my only sister and brother to let them know, my sister is a RN Nurse in North Georgia and she flew down to be with me! I got out and less than six months I was back on life support and as I said I have been for ever 5 or 6 months this last time was alittle bit harder because I was D.O.A at the trauma Hospital but Thank God for an amazing staff of doctors and nurses... Do you think that this that your doing can help me? I have a very weak immune system and I alway low potassium and very Animic.. Again Thank you so much for Sharing this with us...❤🙏

When I was 26 years old, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and it was the worst type. It's been over 34 years later and I have never been in the hospital. I have to believe that by doing things to help others have helped me with this disease. I do have chronic neuropathy in both my feet that is related to the Multiple Sclerosis and the pain is unbearable. I went to a pain management doctor and he gave me Lyrica and I have been pain free. for about 20 years. I was on a drug for the Multiple Sclerosis and I haven't had a migraine headache since 2001.

Hey Steve and Steph, I suffer from Scoliosis and Kyphosis and Lupus. When I got diagnosed with Lupus I had horrible joint pain. I told the doctor that I didn't want to be put on a bunch of prescriptions. I asked if there was anything else I can take like supplements. He told me to take Turmeric and Omega 3s. I ordered some online and I have been taking them daily ever since. That was 4 years ago. I swear by Turmeric. I haven't had joint pain since and my Lupus has been in remission. Please think about getting yourself on Turmeric, I think it could really help you.

I just ran into your video. I heard you said you did fasting, which is a game changer. I don't know what kind of fasting you are doing, but especially the dry fasting is a real game changer, the body really heal itself, when we give it a chance with the right diet and exercise. Keep up the good work, when we help our body to do it's job to keep us healthy it's a win win situation.

Hi Rosemary, Thanks for the encouraging words. We are doing intermittent fasting. We eat two meals per day, Breakfast at 10:00am and Dinner at 3:00pm. We don't stress out if we have to eat a little earlier of later on occasions when we are spending time with family or friends, everyone we know is very supportive and flexible as well.

I'm so happy. AS may not have progressed, but one thing you can do is keep the inflammation down. That is from the diet. Not putting inflammatories in the body, which causes less pain, which in turn allows you to work out. Steph has been your rock with helping you with the AIP diet. I'm so happy for you Steve!! I have Fibro and Lyme dz and I don't have support so I've got to clean up my diet alone. Without energy and in pain. No seeds, no seed oil, no junk, no sugar, eliminate certain foods. Love you guys 💕

Hi there, I’m a fellow AS warrior with uveitis…. That didn’t respond to any treatment. Amazing to hear your response to the AIP diet. I’ve heard a lot of people, advocate it, but nobody can actually say it’s made a big difference in their life. Uveitis is excruciating…. Mine finally responded to herpes medication, although my disease doesn’t present like herpes simplex eye. It’s crazy disease.

I wish my husband would participate in my strict diet changes...it's changed my life for sure. I'm following Dr. Egbert's diet and he's a youtuber. No processed foods, no poisonous hydrogenated oils, I've been off of the nightshade family of plant foods for years r/t my psoriasis. Egbert suggests drinking black coffee daily. I didn't know about black pepper...I use it still because I love it! But only added it back in since my gut health has improved so much. I eat a lot of eggs, fatty meats, and leafy green vegies. I can't eat any breads/wheat flour, or any starchy foods. No sugars. I drink and use a lot of ACV and have stopped taking my proton pump inhibitor and antacids! I found I have been wrongly treating my gut for too much stomach acid, when it is often low acid for many people that are having acid reflux, indigestion, and nausea. My IBS and chronic diarrhea are gone as is the painful chronic cramping! It has been amazing to not wake up aspirating acid nightly. I want to know more about your diet, as I still suffer chronic severe and debilitating pain. And wt. gain is horrid for me, as I have never been heavy in my life. But it started about 10 years ago and now I am obese. I don't even look in the mirror because it triggers me as I sometimes do not recognize that image in the mirror. I have Chiari I Malformation with syringomyelia and major multiple spinal issues from my nursing and hard physical labor and also physical abuse in my life. Life is hell and I am always in pain, and now that I cut out all OTC pain medications for breakthrough pain, I am often bed bound with pain. So on one hand I am better, and the other I am miserable and just waiting to go Home to Jesus. I can't imagine enjoying life again. I'm happy for you that you are able to live without pain medications and are experiencing such improvements. I want it! Going to watch more of your videos now!
