Went to Seelbach’s and bought a bottle of The Saint because of this video. Grabbed some 13th Colony (southern and cask strength) in Arkansas while visiting. Also picked up a bottle of Frey Ranch in Reno. Visited Ben Holliday same day you were there (came late when everyone had gone downstairs). Glad they let me pick up some Ancient Cave and a t-shirt even though they were closing. TJ thank you for shining a light on excellent whiskey worth hunting and actually attainable. Love Buffalo Race stuff, but your channel has educated me beyond the usual unicorns and allocated bottles.

What I hear at every single distillery is how their climate is actually the best for aging whiskey. For most palates, we are trained to prefer the Kentucky aging cycles. Luckily, lower Indiana, Missouri, and a few other states have almost identical seasonal shifts. When someone in TX or Wisconsin try to make a case for their climate I laugh. TX is good if you want to cook your whiskey in a barrel but you don't have enough sub 40 degree days in a row.

St Augustine isn't the only one that does Barrel Rested Gin. There are some small scale craft distillery in NY that does it as well.

We have a wealth of great distilleries in Northeast Florida. Just to the north of St Augustine there’s Manifest and Burlock and Barrel in Jacksonville- both make a bourbon I’d argue is superior to St. Augustine’s. A little further north is Marlin and Barrel in Amelia Island.
