That lad will remember you for a long time Danny - I don't know about you, but as a boy, for a man to treat you as his equal, the feeling of pride and satisfaction and warmth from that was such a buzz for me. It could have been the smallest things, a bloke holding the door open, or calling you mate, or just not speaking with that patronising voice adults use towards kids, just talking normally, having a proper conversation with you. Listening to you. That was the thing, I think. When a man chose not to look down on me, but to show the respect to hold me at his level instead. You did that for this young man, and he'll remember that, and years from now, he'll pass it on, just like you did.
