Boards are drilled first for plated holes, non-plated holes are drilled at the end of the process

Yes, this video was a mess to get into the right order since we crisscrossed through the factory basically. Later I realized that's likely what was happening in the chemical process I showed. Thnx for adding comment though, I'm not a factory expert either. 😅

Hi there Quin, what a fantastic video and trip this must of been for you. I hope you feel a sense of pride in yourself in what you have accomplished with all your boards, and definitely with all your happy customers, myself included. Well done my friend.

I certainly do, very grateful to everyone using them! :D

This is fantastic! I love seeing the 'behind the scenes' videos. Looking forward to the next one showing the components being placed on the boards! Thanks for sharing with us!

It's wild how advanced those factories are. I wonder if the cost to build those factories are similar to Europe or the U.S. or if you can get some of those machines for relatively less? Also, I would love to hear more about your perspective on Shenzhen.
@IntermitTech7 ай бұрын
Cool, I'll share some of my thoughts on Shenzhen in one of the upcoming videos! This factory was actually relatively "low-level" in regards to tech if you compare it to PCBway or JLCpcb for instance. More manual work, less mass production in that sense. Still great quality boards though!

Just got my first quinn board the other day. WAS HIGHLY IMPRESSED... FYI My background is 30+ years in the PCBA CM with a mix of PCB FAB industry. Very much looking forward to the assembly video I suspect it will confirm my process thoughts.

Did you tell them to bring down the price of shipping a little bit? I'm not happy - for three ESP32 WROOM32 ($19.63 total) the shipping cost is 23 usd!
@IntermitTech7 ай бұрын
It's something we are continuously working on. We recently enabled IOSS for our EU buyers, the shipping prices themselves are the next high priority item on the list. Sadly it's not as easy because shipping since COVID is all kinds of whack still. :(
@sebrassino7 ай бұрын
Shipping isn't cheap. The only reason shipping on sites like aliexpress and temu is cheap is cause it's heavily stimulated by the Chinese government. It's impossible to bring a package all over the world for 90 cents/free on a product that costs nothing.
@Liarcatcher7 ай бұрын
@@sebrassino It's certainly not cheap, but Allnetchina charges a flat rate for shipping and handling. It's $32 for 1 board. It's the same $32 for 10, $35 for 20. A lot of Chinese retailers use European warehouses. Stuff gets into the EU cheap and very fast.
@sebrassino7 ай бұрын
@skynet5785 size of the package hardly changes between 1 and 10. And that's where you are paying for.

Wow, interesting. Hope the employees are not exposed to radiation on that one X-ray machine. Glad the company wasn't in a prison I worrier about that with some of the things I buy from China. I set up my Mega tree and Christmas light show this year and your boards worked great. Didn't need any Cat-5 cables because of your Wi Fi antennas. Everything worked great. You may need to make a bigger brain board in the future. Also do you have longer cords for your antennas? Alright, I'll be ordering some boards this week getting ready for next Christmas. Good work!
@IntermitTech7 ай бұрын
Ha no prisons there, no worries. I'm sure there is some horrible working conditions at some places but none that I visited (or was able to see). :) Glad to hear the boards are working well for you! :D The external antennas use standard IPEX of U.FL connectors and you can easily shop those on Amazon/Aliexpress to get the version you want!
