ON THE EARLY VERSIONS OF THE LINCOLNS 1988 THE LETTER L WAS SLANTED AND ON THE NEW VERSIONS FROM THE 1990'S THE LETTER L WAS STRAIGHT, THATS HOW YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OLD AND NEW AND THE ONE YOU HAVE IS FROM THE 1990'S. I HAVE 3 BRAND NEW ONES IN MY COLLECTION CHEERS.

The radio i probably had the most fun with back in the day with some hot valves for help - qsl cards from around the world. 60ft from ground to tip of silver-rod antenna. It may even be my old one in sussex

I have one of these that looks brand new , I bought it last year for 125 bucks . I couldn’t believe I found it on eBay and was the first to see it and scoop it up . Worth 250 easily . 73’s 👋🏻

Interesting channel I've found here. Used to be on the rig a lot in the late 70's. Not sure what the trfaffic is like now, if any. Still got a few rigs and a Starduster (I think) outside. I ought fire one of them up one day and have a listen. You have a new subscriber.

its all ways a buzz getting a power reading on the meeter then that 1st contact :D that poor radio had probably been ran on full whack for years. running it on 10 or 12 watt for a ever will be spot on :D cracking little radio. it was all ways one i never had. 10 4 and all the best to you dude

As a matter of fact no it hasn't been run on full whack for years it's always been run on 10 watts with a burner,I should know it's my radio, it hasn't been run for years anyway not since it's last service it's been stored & well looked after.

That’s the second incarnation of the Lincoln Mk1 withe the paper serial number the original had a foil serial number with 10m Amateur Radio and the serial number on there are lots of other ways to tell to but that is the most obvious that radio dates from the 90s Still not a bad set at the end of the day about 1 of the only “CB” radios I would have

Wow, that's great!! I've never owned the Lincoln Mk1 but had the 2510 when it came out some years ago stateside. Last year I bought a used one that was re-capped and it'll last longer than I will. Hope you enjoy your Lincoln for many years, and, thanks for the video 👍

I love this radio, I have HR2510 which is "poorer" version of Pr. Lincoln. The problem with the power potentiometer is common in older radios because of carbon and slider oxidation. After cleaning potentiometer it will work perfectly. You are lucky when you bought working Lincoln (especially end RF transistor MRF422) :) . My HR was struck by lighting however survived except few capacitors and inductors. I bought replacements and try to bring radio to life.

@@RSPYT I agree. The second one was Pr. Jackson with the same power however limited to 5x40ch :) - I think the Pr. Lincoln/HR2510 it was like a transition between CB and HAM radio in reasonable price. Yaesu FT1000 or Icoms were quite expensive at that time especially in "poorer" part of the Europe :) . I used Alan 87 (1st gen) as well as HR2510, Jackson and other models in the early 90' when the Sun activity and propagation was perfect for DXing at 11m. Of course it was not fully legal (above 27400) but ..... :) . Anyway I feel sentiment to my faulty HR and this is the reason I want to re-activate it :)
