One of the things that make me really excited is playing this year's Lantern Rite and then taking a look back at last year's. It's really easy for us as players that play often to see very little improvement on a day-to-day basis, but it is obvious how much Mihoyo as upped the production value of events like this. The 2021 Lantern Rite was great, but the 2022 Lantern Rite, especially the cutscene was much longer and much higher production value. I hope we continue to see improvements as we continue on our journey.

Hey Arnold, I just wanna say that I'm really glad I found your channel. Watching your playthroughs really inspired me to be more appreciative of the game, as someone who wasn't very mindful of the lore back then. Like when you're connecting certain pieces of information, it also comes to me as a newfound realization as I was unable to connect some dots before. Also, I joined in 2.0, so this is a very nice way to 'experience' past events. I watched your recent 2.4 lantern rite stream, and I was just smiling all the time at your reaction during the cutscene, because the buildup leading to it was just amazing. You were all giddy during the questline bcs of the character cameos, and was like "I hope we get to see every single Liyue character in the final cutscene", which did happen. Watching someone who is really invested in the story is just so entertaining, and it helps that you're an entertaining person yourself. I'm really looking forward for future uploads, esp the dainsleif quest. Keep it up, my guy.

Plus there are so many things I didn't know about since Bwaap was my only source of story content. Kaeya is probably the leader of all treasure hoarders xD they gotta have links to Khaenri'ah, their symbol is exactly like Musk Reef and is in the shape of a crow or jackdaw, which great theory crafters believe is Kaeya's name . Ah, it's quite lovely to see this event. Even though i joined during this patch, i didn't get to make it to Liyue in time to enjoy the event since i was so Mondstadt-lovestruck and was too scared to venture the massive mountains and the vast land of Geo at the time. Even with all the setbacks people experienced outside the main event story, i wouldn't have minded experiencing the original festival all for myself. But it's already passed and i'm happy enough to have experienced the second Lantern Rite in person!

mondstadt has been neglected for a long time haha the only time we went back is during dainsleif’s quest and windblume… i hope we get ludi harpastum soon. the mingxiao lantern cutscene is still one of my fav cutscenes in the game (esp with xiao being my favourite character, since genshin's pre-release days!!).. even the latest lantern rite cutscene couldn't beat it in my opinion. also xiao in eng dub is so pissy hahaha his jp/cn dub captures his character better tbh

I've always had mixed feelings about getting Xiao to go to the Lantern Rites. On one hand, it would be nice for him to honour his fallen comrades among the crowd of people he sword to protect but on the other, his backstory is just so tragic that I just want him to be happy. If he didn't want to go then I'd rather just be the only one to accompany him watching the lanterns from the place he feels most at peace and wouldn't feel guilty if his Karma ends up hurting someone.

I didn't manage to play this event last year because I was so busy. It's nice that I was able to watch it here. Skybracer is the GOAT man!! I would love to see more of him! Like in those animations they did with the first flying birds, guoba and more!! I'm still not doing the last part of the current event and saving it for the weekends so I'm really excited.. SPOILER ALERT for those who are kinda new to the game.. Remember that 1.3 update trailer? where they showed a scene of the twin missing the other while looking at the lanterns and Paimon says something about celebrating the event together with the sibling the next lantern rite? Man that didn't aged well..
