I am so glad you got to experience Italy. When my brother was stationed in Germany, I went to Italy every 6 months for a couple years, loved it. The last time I was there was in 2001 so it has been a long time but I was shocked that there are so much graffities on the walls now. I don't remember seeing them that much.

So great that you’re on this Italy trip with #LauraCaldwell. ❤ What a sweetheart and class act…and another of my fave channels. Back in 2002 I went with the choir I was in at the time, to Rome, Florence and Sienna. We sang at some of the cathedrals there and of course, we fit in a lot of sightseeing and shopping. But I don’t recall any of the flea market type of markets and I wasn’t doing any reselling then either so I wasn’t on the lookout. Italy is so fantastic and so full of art (museums to die for) and of course, great shopping and food!

OMGee! Gelato in Italy!! No one does gelato better than the Italians. The delicious stuff was originated by them! It’s hard to find fault in a country that originated that silky dessert that makes your tongue say “more please!”….Absolute heaven 😇

Was just there in Rome end of March. Italy was so crowded. So much to see. I started in Paris with all the demonstrations and strikes and ended in Rome. Try and get to Florence and Venice. They are awesome. Europe is fantastical.

Cristo Salvatore means Christ the Savior. The obelisk with the hieroglyphics was brought to Rome from Egypt. The arch near the Colosseum is the Arch of Constantine, honoring the Emperor Constantine. You really need to get guide books for each place you’re going so you have some idea what you’re seeing.

I can relate to your walking in a circle. When I was 20, I was in Vienna, and a friend and I got off a city bus to walk back to our pension. We walked in a circle for an hour and a half, and neither my friend or I spoke German to ask for directions. We did eventually find our way back 😁.
