My usual order at Wanjo is nasi lemak with the ayam masak merah and a mango smoothie. The restaurant in your video is the newly renovated one. I've been going here since it was just a stall on the roadside.

Hi u guys already try 2 the famous nasi lemak... Another 1 .... We called it nasi lemak tangling... Famous with sambal sotong... Near by masjid negara... Also highly recommend
In Malaysia, you need to speak up and ask if you want squid just ask whether they have squid or you want to add more dishes later on. You can do this even after you pay.

Also Hari Raya celebration period in Malaysia is one month, the same as Ramadhan. If you want to go, the big one coming is on the 14th at Taman Sri Gombak (Jalan SG 3/1) from 8PM-11PM which is good time since its very hot during the day now... but its Sunday so get there early and can get home early... because the next day is working day 🤭

You should try rendang as side dish if it is available in any local Malay shop. If your husband like spicy sambal, try Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang (Lorong Syed Putra Kiri, Bukit Seputeh) and for your order, its better to ask for sambal to be served separately so that you can adjust the spiciness. Their ayam goreng is quite good too... I brought my niece there once and she ate nasi lemak without sambal but 2 ayam goreng for herself alone 😅

@@nami.oishii_malaysianlife yes and not only chicken, also beef and sometimes you can find lamb but not often. Chicken and beef rendang are more common during Hari Raya and good to eat with Lemang and Ketupat (also common Hari Raya no tabemono). Also rendang was voted as No. 1 best food in the world for couple of times.

If you eat at Wanjo, best to pair Nasi Lemak with rendang. Village Park chicken is more crispy. Chicken at Wanjo are ayam berempah type that usually tough after getting cold. Best to eat that chicken with hand rather than cutlery.

You should try Village Park Nasi Lemak in Damansara Uptown & compare with this Nasi Lemak Wanjo and see which is better. Village Park is also very popular and very busy & crowded. Best to go there before the lunch rush hour or early in the morning

You can always state the order, like Sambal Sotong (squid sambal), even though you don't see the dish initially. If it is available, they will scoop that for you. If your husband likes it a bit more spicy, order the Rendang Ayam (chicken rendang) or Ayam Masak Merah (spicy tomato chicken). Next time that you do go to Nasi Lemak Wanjo, you should order a piece of Begedil (ber-ger-dill) - this is the Malay version of beef croquette that you find back in Japan.

Actually the sotong is in front of you when you say you cannot find the sotong 😂..but nevermind, next time just ask and if you cant decide, they will wait for you or you can always said "tunggu sekejap" (wait a moment),they will understand. Usually better to take chicken rendang or sambal sotong and can add on begedil..it will make the Nasi Lemak taste better .
