I used to not like Lucy, for a long time she had all the personality, charm, and charisma of a dried out sponge, but in recent years she's gotten much more comfortable and entertaining and I really enjoy watching her videos, even subbed to her channel. I hope she continues to grow and thrive, this particular format really seems to work for her. Also any time her and James interact it's just magic.

I used to take the train all over the USA, Denver to Chicago, Chicago to Pensacola, Pensacola to Denver, and "train life" is unique. Constantly in motion, it's almost like being on a small boat as you're forever swaying and adjusting, and the people you meet are just amazing folk. Tiny stations in the middle of Nebraska, incredible night skies in Oklahoma, and zooming past all the bumper to bumper traffic in the cities. It hearkens back to a time when the journey was just as important as the destination. Awesome video Lucy, Scotland is my ancestral home, and seeing that countryside is awe inspiring.

Always love the Lucy videos. I have been watching Lucy since she started her channel and stood in a field and shared " Hi, I'am Lucy". Out of all her Drivetribe, Foodtribe, and What Next video adventures and travels eating that sushi sausage is the most DANGEROUS thing Lucy has done. Could haggis be on the menu for the next video??? Looks like a one way ticket from London to the "end of the line" on the caledonian sleeper weekday was running about 145 pounds with a discount promo. Here in the USA an Amtrak Roomette is way more expensive.

We have still have sleeper trains in Canada. I did the Halifax to Montreal run back in 2011. Most of the coaches date from the 1950s. Room was larger than that one, and it had an ensuite bathroom. Also included gourmet meals in the dining car. No sausage on "council white bread". I want to do the Toronto to Vancouver, but it's bloody expensive. There's a reason why we fly and drive everywhere. Long distance trains are mostly used by tourists.

Completed a walk around that loch back in the 80s with my wife and two dogs. At the point furthest from the station one of the dogs fell down a culvet and smashed her jaw on a rock. I can still hear the crunch. That was a long journey back to the Fort William vet. She recovered. Great scenery.

'The Signalman' was filmed in a location very similar to this. I rented the video in 2000, but haven't found any reference to it since. The story is about a woman who gets off at the wrong station and ends up living there. A postman on a motorcycle comes along once in a while. The signalman is the only other person there.

Corrour... The UK's equivalent to Hallingskeid station on the Bergen line here in Norway (Finse does have a Hotel, after all, even if that too is high up in the mountains and without any other connection to the outside world other than by rail...). Hallinskeid is protected by a snow/wind cover, though, as the weather up there can be very(!) harsch indeed.

Driven part of the Highland line from Fort William to Tyndrum. Got a photo of the engine I was training on up there. The signal box is an Air B&B type thing now if memory serves. Absolutely incredible place. And the vehicle on the rails is known as an RRV, or, Road Rail Vehicle.

You did not know sleeper trains. I am amazed. On the big landmass on the other side of the channel, we have sleepers all over. And we also have multiple classes. If I want to get from Lake Constance, where I live, to Vienna: sleeper train and you can also take your car with you. That way you can get around in Vienna when you get there. Or, something I do a lot, drive back home. (it is a seriously long way with a lot of obstacles).
