The sad part is that I feel like I could do a better job and I'm nowhere near being an MUA. Of course, I FEEL like I could. Doesn't mean I actually could considering I've never done makeup on another person. But, like... Sanitization? Pretty simple. Not beating the crap out of your client? Also easy. Not irritating their skin before applying makeup? Common sense. And definitely NOT poking their eyeballs with pencils(I'd probably be uncomfortable doing anything to the waterline since I never touch my own). Admitting that a look is too complicated for me? Probably the easiest thing ever. And knowing me, I'd constantly be asking if I'm using too much pressure because I'm an anxious potato like that.

Should use serum, moisturizer and primer. I wonder if dermaplaning is popular in her area???
@juliap17142 жыл бұрын
@@karakol86 that's a lot of product if you're about to put makeup on. Depending on the skin type, Judy seems to have normal/combination, you wanna clean the face, use something like a gentle scrub wipe if you see any peeling skin on your client, use moisturizer and I personally don't believe in primer, unless you're using a glowy one for specific effect I think Judy probably had an allergic reaction to the mask and she should have told the makeup artist :p
@karakol862 жыл бұрын
@@juliap1714 cleanser, serum and moisturizer is minimal and basic. I didn't mention essence or toner or a double cleanse or face oil. Serum and moisturizer (also primer depending on what you need) leave the skin smooth so the foundation and other products does not look patchy or have dry spots enhanced.
@juliap17142 жыл бұрын
@@karakol86 you certainly shouldn't use a face oil if you're about to put makeup on. We're not talking about a full skin care routine, we're talking about a skin care routine before makeup, these are different. You have to talk to your client about what their skin of course and adjust it accordingly. But no, serum and moisturizer will not make dry skin patches go away if your client has extremely dry skin. I speak from experience. But if they do have extremely dry skin then you could probably get away with your excessive moisturizing. Basic and minimal is not bad.
@karakol862 жыл бұрын
@@juliap1714 I didn't say basic or minimal is bad and I didn't say use face oil prior to makeup. I mentioned it because you said serum and moisturizer were too much. This looks a LOT like the time my Mom booked my bridal makeup session without asking me, out of a desire to "gift" it to me, and I insisted on paying for a practice session. It was this rough, and slightly more than this level of "woah!" (My lips were also overdrawn but were a bright reddish purple and drawn on very crookedly, to the point that it looked like I had mild Bell's Palsy) But it was much less professional...this was obviously a woman who did something else,like hair or reflexology, who also offered makeup in hopes of getting another service going. She had me sit in a papasan chair, which felt awful, half the makeup she used smelled like melted crayons and was the cheapest brand from the local pharmacy... ...and she braced herself on either my chest or my hair, and breathed heavily down at me with a stressed out look on her face the whole time. I paid her, thanked her, and then drove straight to my Mom's house. I had Mom get her money back, lol.

This 'luxury' salon doesn't look or sound luxurious at all. Everything was going well, until the dirty make-up sponge attacked. She should have stuck to nude tones for the liner and less of a dark shade for the lip and actually follow your natural lip line? Also the black liquid liner, making your eyes look like they're behind a photo frame from how thick they are.

The ONLY good thing about this entire make up imitation was the eyeshadow, that warm brownish shade looked good on you. That's it. The unnecessary exfoliation of the skin was crazy...like why? Why would you want to irritate the skin before make up? She could have just wiped your skin, put moisturizer or toner on your face, chapstick(which I haven't seen anyone do on your channel) on your lips (which is usually necessary!) and massage that for good few minutes and then she could have applied make up primer to prep the skin for that foundation......for the luxury make up this was... quite frankly...$hit! It's a shame, people actually pay money for this ..... it's like these "muas" completely disregard customers skin colour, eyeshadow that should match the skin colour, techniques that you should apply products with, the proper shade for eyebrows, countering shade that must be again individual to skin colour and in colder hues not an orange brick bronzer........ it's like they just vaguely "know" where shat goes but have no clue whatsoever how to do it properly and well, actually. This is disappointing and embarrassing to watch. The way that lady was 'moving' your skin while using that sponge...... it's like shes unaware of what sponges are for and HOW you use them, and there's a reason it's a sponge and not brush, you're not suppose to 'move' your customer's skin around with sponge, drag, pull it violently like it's a clay.....the "mua" has no clue how or what she uses. It's like there's this book of just general facts, and no details or understanding of how different customers should be approached differently, individually and sometimes you will have to deviate from the points in that book......I don't know, all I see is complete ignorance, carelessness and stuck up approach.....

I've never had a makeup artist #1 have me leaning back in a chair. I'm always sitting upright. Leaning back changes the structure of the face. And #2 I've never had a makeup artist use my head or face for resting their arm. - - If at any time a makeup artist needs to steady their hand, ie to apply eyeliner, they don't touch my face directly with their hand, they have a CLEAN powder puffer attached to their finger and use that as a cushion between my face and their hand. And in conclusion, I don't feel like I'm getting beat up. When I get my makeup done, it feels relaxing. If it feels like you're being attacked, they're doing it wrong.
