She was using "old school" makeup techniques. It used to be that when you put on eyeliner you "smuggled" the liner to give it a softer look. The problem is that she was when that technique was used, it was for pencil eyeliner, not liquid. Liquid doesn't work the same way. I also noticed that she used blue liner on your water line. That used to be done because it was thought that the blue made the whites of your eyes look less red. (Like when you wake up and your eyeballs look like stop signs). She was doing what she probably learned a long time ago.

The eyeliner to me wasn't a big surprise .in Arabic make up eyeliner is usually big and bold on both upper and lower lid because they want eyes look as big as possible. It was still not smooth enough but no yesterday uncommon . But the rest of the make was really bad .

The sad part is that I feel like I could do a better job and I'm nowhere near being an MUA. Of course, I FEEL like I could. Doesn't mean I actually could considering I've never done makeup on another person. But, like... Sanitization? Pretty simple. Not beating the crap out of your client? Also easy. Not irritating their skin before applying makeup? Common sense. And definitely NOT poking their eyeballs with pencils(I'd probably be uncomfortable doing anything to the waterline since I never touch my own). Admitting that a look is too complicated for me? Probably the easiest thing ever. And knowing me, I'd constantly be asking if I'm using too much pressure because I'm an anxious potato like that.

Sooo, let me see if I get this right.. After exfoliating your skin with a face wipe (physical exfoliation) she decided to apply a chemical exfoliator and then just remove it and go straight to makeup? No moisturizer, no sunscreen, no nothing? I thought you mentioned she was a cosmetologist, I guess not 😂😂😂 I have a chemical exfoliator that is made in my cosmelogist lab and you have to rub it but it's just a gel and it doesn't feel like nothing on your skin just like water, however if the exfoliator she is using is glycolic acid, lactoc acid or ascorbic acid you can't just use the same percentage on everybody or it will burn your face

@@karakol86 that's a lot of product if you're about to put makeup on. Depending on the skin type, Judy seems to have normal/combination, you wanna clean the face, use something like a gentle scrub wipe if you see any peeling skin on your client, use moisturizer and I personally don't believe in primer, unless you're using a glowy one for specific effect I think Judy probably had an allergic reaction to the mask and she should have told the makeup artist :p

@@juliap1714 cleanser, serum and moisturizer is minimal and basic. I didn't mention essence or toner or a double cleanse or face oil. Serum and moisturizer (also primer depending on what you need) leave the skin smooth so the foundation and other products does not look patchy or have dry spots enhanced.

We're not talking about a full skin care routine, we're talking about a skin care routine before makeup, these are different. You have to talk to your client about what their skin of course and adjust it accordingly. But no, serum and moisturizer will not make dry skin patches go away if your client has extremely dry skin. I speak from experience. But if they do have extremely dry skin then you could probably get away with your excessive moisturizing. Basic and minimal is not bad.

This looks a LOT like the time my Mom booked my bridal makeup session without asking me, out of a desire to "gift" it to me, and I insisted on paying for a practice session. It was this rough, and slightly more than this level of "woah!" (My lips were also overdrawn but were a bright reddish purple and drawn on very crookedly, to the point that it looked like I had mild Bell's Palsy) But it was much less professional...this was obviously a woman who did something else,like hair or reflexology, who also offered makeup in hopes of getting another service going. She had me sit in a papasan chair, which felt awful, half the makeup she used smelled like melted crayons and was the cheapest brand from the local pharmacy... ...and she braced herself on either my chest or my hair, and breathed heavily down at me with a stressed out look on her face the whole time. I paid her, thanked her, and then drove straight to my Mom's house. I had Mom get her money back, lol.

@@jaytay8637 you can swipe on a chemical exfoliating toner before doing makeup , that’s okay. But doing a full on facial before makeup is a no-no . Pores are open and skin is left too sensitive.

Even though she don't know how to apply make up and doesn't wear it normally, and that's the whole reason why she's going to pay a "pro"? No, either learn to do your job properly or find another profession. You don't go to the dentist and expect to come out with crooked teeth do you? You expect them to know what they are doing... This goes with ANY job. Period. Imagine painting a single dot on a canvas, charging $500 for it and calling yourself an artist. Same principle.

I have no words to understand how that really nice eyebrows and okay eyeshadow could go so so wrong with that eyeliner... 😱 By the time she got to the lips she wasn't even trying anymore 🤣 if they can't pull out a nice makeup on someone pretty young and with Judy's skin then I can't imagine what other clients would look like at that "luxury " salon 😨

I'm a firm believer that permanent makeup and makeup should be applied while sitting up, gravity effects the face differently when you lay in different positions, laying back like that pulls everything back making it tighter than it would be normally

On Judy, either do shadow or liner - Not both. Her hair isn't red, her eye brows shouldn't be either. Clear shimmer setting powder! No need for a dark bronzer and especially not as a blush/highlighter. I feel so sorry for JUDY.D She can't find a single human on earth that doesn't make her a clown. Laying back in those "makeup" chairs 💺 is the whole problem with why no artist gets your eyes right. Her eyes are the focus point.

As someone with big eyes that liner on your lower lash,didnt look good, it was too harsh, I think for a luxury spa the m as makeup artist seems to only know one way to apply a look,and everyone gets that technique unfortunately.
