Exploration, adventure, discovery and fishing are all things that make me want to wade or hike up creeks. It can be tough, and the rewards of the trip don't always have to be the number of fish caught.

Wow that creek is clear! Those deer were gorgeous. Love this time of year for fishing. Soon as those leaves start to fall, though…the surface gets cluttered. Seems like I catch a leaf on every cast!😄🐟👍

That was a gorgeous creek even if the fish were finicky. I hung my hat on an epic hour and a half up in WI for our annual men's retreat with the guys from church this past weekend. It's beautiful sometimes just to be out in nature. Blessings brother John

It was enjoyable just going along for the walk, especially since it was your ankles that will be sore in the morning and not mine lol. I think had I been there my game plan would have included crikhoppers and inline spinners on 4 lb test. It's that time of year for sure. Another tactic I like this time of year is a fly rod with cork poppers and Joe's Flys the lightweight inline spinner type. I know you like using standard bass lures in small water but right now it's down size time due to clear water and falling Temps. One other recommendation I have is the smallest little cleo spoon you can find. Those bass keying into those minnows would be all over that little cleo. I'm not trying to be a braggart or make anyone think in some kind of expert. I'm just tossing out ideas learned over 50 years of living the creek life.

If you ever want to catch those hard ro catch bass try live crawfish. You are in a geart place to catch a bucket full. Free line and bass cant resist them. Just a suggestion. I have caught hundreds of fish with them when nothing else would work. Happy hooking.

Up-the-creek Definition Meanings Origin of Up-the-creek This phrase may have come from Haslar Creek in Portsmouth harbour, a 'salt' creek (may be origin of alternative 'up a poo creek'). Wounded sailors during Nelson's time, were taken there to be admitted to the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar to die or recover. The ships moored up in the Solent and the wounded soldiers were transported up Haslar creek by tramline hence 'Up the creek without a paddle'. They were held prisoner so that they would not desert while being treated, and some tried to escape by going through the sewers to the creek (another suggested origin of the alternative 'up a poo creek'). Without a paddle this would be hopeless, hence the phrase 'up the creek (without a paddle)' to mean being trapped, stuck or in trouble. Much very obscure navy related jargon entered popular culture in the seafaring peoples of the British Isles, and thus entered the English language as a whole.

I agree with @Kevinbond3361. I Love all your videos but the creek wading is the best. However, if you were to do this in VA, you would encounter more people firing their guns at you as this state completely sucks when it comes to fishing in the creeks. (At least wading & walking in them.) You are blessed to be able to do what you're doing & never take it for granted!

I’m not happy you didn’t catch much, but at the same time it helped me feel not as stupid as I was today. Lol. It’s like the bass turned the lights out these last couple of weeks! 5 hours on a kayak in the rain today before work and only one bass to show for it. He hit the rebel crawl, I threw 8 different lures today. I’m usually deer hunting the fall of the year so I have a lot to learn about fall fishing still. Praise God for His mercies. I need them each day

I fish creeks in Oregon that look very similar. Trout instead of bass and the trees are a little different but I have the same September problems. Fish cruising by in the deeper pools that won't bite anything. My wife always puts me to shame with a small yellow Rooster tail.
