ANSWERS TO A FEW QUESTIONS- obvs the butter I used was vegan butter, I felt I didn’t even need to explain that because it’s just what I use in day to day life and have done for years. I’ve also been getting questions about the pesto which literally says on the jar that it’s vegan in massive letters 😂 everything I ate was vegan, even if I didn’t say, don’t worry. (Other than that Mayo slip up on Saturday) Hope you guys enjoy, I have had this requested a lot and actually really enjoyed doing it and it made me realise just how many alternatives there are. You don't just have to eat salad 24/7 (but if that is something you wanna do then go for it hahah). Any video suggestions let me know :))) Have a great evening x

I don't know who needs this, but if you're someone who says "I would go vegan, but I could never give up *insert food here*".... then go vegan with the exception of that one thing! Once you're in the swing of a mostly vegan lifestyle, you can think about cutting out the couple of things you're still eating. A bit of a change is better than none. :) Btw Grace you clearly enjoy the taste of meat, why not try some substitutes or going out to eat at "meaty" vegan restaurants in London?
@MelissaThompson4325 жыл бұрын

@@swilson6170 I understand, but in my subjective experience, foods such as, say, Beyond, are disappointing, deceptive and disgusting. IMO someone who likes and chooses mushrooms would be happier with a portobello burger. I can only offer my own opinion based on my own experience, and that is what I did. One of the reasons (though not the main one) that veganism is not my lifestyle choice is the basic dishonesty of "fake" foods. I do choose and enjoy foods that are free of animal products. For anyone trying to go vegan, especially food wise, I def recommend going veggie first! I've been veggie for years now, and am gradually trying to cut out dairy but I'm not finding it as hard as I imagine it would be cutting everything out at once because I'm already used to cooking and making food without meat, and getting the right balances in my meals (e.g. getting enough protein). I find a lot of meat meals are easy enough to make veggie and once you're used to that, veggie meals are easy to make vegan too Edit: I know for some people it's easy to do overnight! I'm only mentioning it because I went veggie like 12 years ago before I even really knew about veganism and before it got more 'mainstream', and now I'm switching I definitely think already being veggie helped, so doing it gradually like that could be an option for people finding it more difficult. After all, any change helps and is better than none!

I think it is for everyone different. Some people prefer to go vegan overnight. Some people want to take their time. I have been vegetarian my whole life. I try my best eating a lot of vegan food. The thing is, I still live with my parents and I can't and won't ask them to make me a whole different meal. It is easier to eat more vegan because my parents are vegetarian. But I still struggle, because we live somewhere and it is doesn't have a lot of options for vegan foods. I try my best, and I am aware of the cruelty but I am not perfect. I call myself a flegan btw flexi vegan, between vegan and vegetarian.

For me going plant based (I'm not 100% vegan, due to BED, but I'm working on that) is increasingly easier the less I focus on finding vegan replacements for the more processed foods that I ate already, and focusing more on an overall change to my diet with plant based meals that are vegan by nature. Not that it's bad to have the substitutes or that I completely eliminate them, but personally for me it's been so freeing to just dive into some of the "weird" vegan foods. But I'm also American where we have the SAD diet, and "normal" is way more skewed.
@MelissaThompson4325 жыл бұрын
@@arguingtomcat I have GI issues, so my diet is "anything that won't kill me," which unfortunately excludes most plant fiber and most sugars, but I found the same thing was true for me when I was vegan: I'd much rather eat foods from primarily vegan cultures prepared traditionally, as opposed to "fake" meats and cheeses. A lot of "fake" food is sadly trying too hard, IMO. And failing.

just like "THE omnivorous!" isnt filled or lacking protein the vegan diet is nothing you can generalize. if i eat intuitively i eat too little protein. i eat carbs and veggies. thats my thing. you have to try harder if you are vegan because vegan foods do in general contain less protein than animal based foods. thats a fact. im not trying to make a case for a omnivorous diet!!!!! i just dislike people misrepresenting facts. whereas it is easily possible to get enough protein on a vegan diet it is unargueably harder to do so and requires more planning.

The egg mystery is about to be solved for you🕵🏻♀️ basically, the condensed version is - the chickens do naturally produce eggs, but if they aren’t fertilised then the chicken themselves will eat the egg to ensure their calcium levels are sufficient. Chickens that have the eggs taken away will lay more than those that are able to consume their eggs. Hope this helps✌🏻

It's so easy to make a bacon (facon) substitute that actually works! Some ingredients might sound strange, but they're literally available in larger shops. 400g firm Tofu or soy chunks, diced into any kind of shape you want 5 tbsp nutritional yeast, 2 tbsp soy sauce 2 ts liquid smoke (add 1ts garlic powder, 1ts smoked paprika and dash of ketchup for more taste) fry the tofu or soy chunks, mix the sauce, pour the sauce over, cook it until it's evaporated, then voilaaa amazing facon.

It was actually quite good timing that you posted this because we had a big vegan discussion in my English Language class today at college and everyone was really excepting of me being vegan in the end. I get scared to tell people because I don't want them to like make just stupid jokes that I've heard a million times before and I feel like people won't want to friends with me. Also some of them had a bad opinion on vegans because they thought I would try and force my diet on them but in the end they realised that even if you can't be fully vegan then a one meal here and there will make a big difference just like you said 🌻🌻Btw I love when you try eating like a vegan and you aren't negative about it👍🏼

I used to be vegan for about 4 years, made sure I had a complete diet, but I just always felt ravenous and sick. I tried several different things to make the vegan lifestyle work, it just didn’t work out for me. But just as you pointed out in the video, there’s been so much change in the vegan options that are available, it’s been a few years now since I was vegan and I really want to give it a go again. Stil now in everyday life I incorporate a lot of vegan foods into my life. That ice cream is amazing!! A little tip, if you microwave it for about 20-30 seconds, the cookies get a little warm and it’s so melty. It’s amazing!!

I love how you bring up social change and willingness to experiment. I do eat meat but have cut my servings down and look for grass fed or FREE range. Choosing high quality foods is the way to be healthier. We need to be more conscious of what we put in our bodies but also looking at our planet and encourage sustainable growing of foods. I listen to Dr. Hyman’s Doctor Farmacy with an f for topics that matter. It has opened my eyes to choices I can make to help myself and the planet. Your comment on the straws fits right in there. I use glass straws that I bring with me. If I forget my straw I feel so guilty. Next is thinking of getting a reusable cup same size as when I am out or a drink lid. I am not sure and would love suggestions. You and your family are so neat. I just enjoy your curiosity and how you need to explore things in the physical world to better understand it. I work that way as well. I look forward to what ever you post next.

I think what you said at the end is so important! We don't all need to go 100% vegan right away, sometimes that is just too hard or not feasible. But if you make a conscious effort to reduce your animal product consumption, that already helps loads. I've been vegetarian for a while now and try to eat vegan meals as well, but every now and then I get a craving and allow myself to give in. Because I'd rather eat fish or meat once a month or so than say well it's too hard for me, I'm just going to stop and start eating a regular meat-filled diet again. I've been there in the past, so now allowing myself to cheat every once in a while without feeling guilty actually helps tons with making the rest of my diet feel so much easier.

Even if you don't go fully vegan, cutting down on meat and incorporating some vegan meals would be amazing. Regarding eggs, I think if they are coming from friends' chickens then go for it. This is scientifically true; lacking important amino acids plus many people can have absorption problems. Vegan products are packed full of salt, sugar and questionable oils. I find it mildly humorous that vegans use "fake meat" products loaded with soy...
