Great video man, I have two gaming channels and a small audio tech channel I wish I could figure out how to get something going that really takes off, having an autoimmune disease, doing a couple gaming channels as rough and only got so much time I can set my chair per day before everything spasms up on me so it's hard to really do a lot but, maybe one day I'll figure out how to make a video completely blow up I don't know. But hey man you make great videos. Thanks for posting

I feel at 38, soon to be 39 my ship has sailed. I inspired my cousin to pursue content creation and he's making enough money to support him and his partner and their baby on the way purely off ad revenue alone. They bought a house, 2 cars and go on loads of vacations. I work 40hrs a week have 2 kids and by the end of the day I have a few hours to decompress. I have virtually no energy to start a side project. I got to bed at 2am and wake up at 7am almost every night, yet somehow, this video has inspired me. Thank you, Harris ❤

It's so hard not to give up. Especially when you do something with passion but see no effects. But small things can make you happy. I've streamed recently and after stream I saw my numbers of followers going from 24 up to 26. Many of you will laugh at it but for me it was a lot and it made me excited. Probably I will never be a successful Twitch streamer but I do it because it makes me happy and it is my therapy to fight my mental breakdowns Good luck to everyone who's trying Peace!

Awesome video. The key is finding winning combination, and I always said that being a content creator is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, same like business owners offer products/services that people need in their life... Fulfilling demands creates success, that's how life works in general. The most difficult part is starting and growing on social media, but consistency and hard work (with a bit of Famester) will always pay off at the end 💪

The crazy part is I REMEMBER THAT VINE and thinking how awesome that video was. Nobody had really done transitions like that before, now it’s so common. Loved hearing the story of how you stuck with it even when money got tight and morale was a little low. Great advice to not give up unless you absolute have to. I think about being a part time streamer/content creator, but I always get intimidated/overwhelmed and put it down. Might have to try again. Even if it’s just close friends and family who watch I still love doing it, might be worth a shot.

Man...this is so messed up. I'm exactly where you were...a decade of making content. Went super viral and now after everything ,realizing the ride is over ...is crushing me. Except I don't think I can push through. A few days ago I made all the videos on my channel private. Deleted my Instagram ...and the main channel (the family channel that went viral) is hanging on by a thread. Nothing but love to you for making it happen man...I don't know you. but man knowing this story makes me proud of you. go get it brother.

Hey man, I've been there. I'm a fellow deleter of content after going viral and falling off. I've started again, and I'm not pushing to get viral again. I think virality gets into your head and makes you feel entitled to more virality, and depressed when you don't have it. Don't forget, even if you can inspire 100 people per video, that's not nothing. 100 people you inspire can change the world.

I just took a 2 week full vacation of work, university and content creating, right after when things got too much overall plus my streaming didn't go as well as I experienced it through last year. My views dropped by 50%. I then was out of energy. Now I'm coming back (it feels weird after 2 weeks but it's been the first 2 weeks on a 100% holiday for over 2 years now) and I still have doubts. Now this video pops up in my feed, I hear you talking about that one point that we have all to get past. And I read all those comments. And suddenly my doubts just went flying away. So thank you Harris, thank you wonderful people of KZbin. We can do this!

Honestly, pretty great video. Been here since the time of the blow up, I remember when you were streaming to only a handful of people and not much was happening in chat. I was always STUNNED that your stream which looked so great was quiet. And then it happened! The big bang. Got a little star struck when I saw you at TwitchCon in 2019 so I didn't come up and say anything, but that was also the year I started to do work with Nerd or Die, Gaming Careers, and even had been putting out my own little tutorials that people really liked (I even got recognized which was wild). Sadly I stopped doing that because I'm an idiot who didn't like where it was going. But I've been video editing since and doing the whole live stream thing. Then of course the typical "why am I trying" thing happens and things slowed down a bit post 2020 when streaming was booming. But I've recently found myself "trying" again and seeking those opportunities. So your words at end hit home man. Over the years I've gotten tons of great ideas and tips from you, and I wanna say thanks for the ride Harris.

Your journey is truly inspiring. Holy hell, that resonates so extremely well with me. Been spending 20+ years going for drums specifically, so much time in school and working towards it.. 2019, it was finally time. Saw success on Twitch, hit partner, was able to FULLY focus on streaming. Then tendonitis happened.. Had to quit drumming and music for a full year, tanking both my youtube and twitch channels. THEN, my arm got better. And for 4 months, I pushed hard. Had the most amazing month I could ever have imagined - 28 day subathon, over 2 million live views and then... Nerve impingement hit the next month. That's now over two years ago. I have yet to be able to do what I LOVE and am really good at. But I "succeeded" twice. I'm having to bet on being able to do it a third time. It's been two years in recovery, and I'm doing my best holding on to hope of eventual long-term success that I've worked towards since I was 10. Just gotta recover first 😅

This was a great and heartfelt video, I enjoyed your delivery, style and story for this one. As a fellow video maker I find tutorials and "knowledge transfer" videos so comfortable to make, but vids that lean into storytelling, life lessons, or motivational / uplifting content feels harder to do, even though it's not that different on paper. I'm sure is a sign that I'm still leveling up in that area. You ever feel that way? Also a gentle critique: the ad integration at 0:57 came so out the blue that I thought the transition was still part of the video's storyline--to a clip from a life-changing video. Maybe it was just the timing, as it seemed like you were setting up to cut to a related vid from the past, but it took me out of flow for the video as I began to question what happened to the narrative and slowly realized what was going on. I've been following you since 2018, probably since that "why you can't grow on Twitch" video--learned a lot and also inspired by your consistent effort and success. Wishing you all the best in the future, too, I always recommend streambeats to my buddies getting into content creation!

A couple things to note (well, changes, actually): 1) KZbin is not the same platform it was in 2014. Nowdays the algorithm is more robust, Google has mined PETABYTES of data on its users. So it knows now who is watching what creator. So reaching an audience is now easier than it was a decade ago. 2) Vine is gone, but Tiktok and KZbin shorts is here. And I would argue they can/should be the replacement. In fact, I love finding old Vine montages on TikTok, and recently Thomas Sanders has been resurrecting some of his more popular schticks from Vine on TikTok. It's a wonderful time to be a content creator. And, I think thanks to you, some people have realized that streamers are also content creators rather than just "professional gamers."
