Well Roger, from a novice starter two years ago I watched your video, and others, when I was restarting my layout and went and bought a set of tracksetter's for my N gauge, and I already had the peco gauges. The advice from the community helped me to re start the layout and gave me skills and tips that have helped me this time around, from where to buy small enough screws for my track, to laying points, even where to get jigs to hold the tiny track joiners, to the point where I now have four tracks running around (in the main smoothly but there is always something to clean and touch up), which gives me enormous sense of achievement and enjoyment when I go to "play with my trains". I have had comments on my channel about poor sound quality, poor choice of music etc - don't care ... its my layout, my enjoyment and more importantly my money that has helped me to enjoy my hobby. Keep up the good work, and I hope all of us continue to share our enjoyment of our hobby with each other. Regards Steve

As of right now the video in question has 18.5K views and 360 "likes". Agreed, that does not make it great or even right and if you disagree with my point of view (POV) that is fine. What is not fine is to start your comment with what I deem to be a personal attack. What is not fine is when I go to your channel an d find zero videos!
@ewhurstgreen8 ай бұрын
Just wondering if the exceedingly poor wording is an 'attack' on the producers of Tracksettas rather than you personally at St BlazeyModelWorld? 🤔 Claiming 'engineer' status, the contributor claims "Damn things are virtually useless" but then appears to contradict his statement with "I had a number made to my own specifications"....... _(oh dear)_ 😂

Roger, sorry to learn about the comments posted - you have my full support. 👍 If somebody cannot say something good, informative, inspirational or supportive (even if that includes constructive criticism) in respect of a contributor's video then they are best advised to refrain from commenting; particularly as it undermines our hobby. Earlier this year I had also encountered this particular individual. He was placing inaccurate, misleading and ill-informed posts against Ewhurst Green videos. After several such posts, the comments were removed and he was blocked from making further 'contributions' - a decision that I did not take lightly. Besides his lack of in-depth railway knowledge, I suspect this person did not realise he was posting on a channel run by a retired career (senior) railwayman who is now a specialist historian. Colin. _Whilst we should all be mindful that some contributors on KZbin do have personal challenges with respect to their ability to socially interact with others, there regretfully had to be a cut-off point._ PS - you aren't alone is not using a mobile phone! 😉

I can take criticism if it is based on some form of fact. We all get these kind of comments from time to time, thankfully the polite people hold the majority vote :)

@@StBlazeyModelWorld Completely agree! 👍 I did respond to this individual's inaccurate comments on Ewhurst Green with the full facts and received a nonsense reply in return. 🤨 Didn't bother to try again. 😉

A good message here Roger, and don't stress about it. I paint miniatures and wargame pieces myself, and first watched your video about airbrush cleaning pots, but have since watched a few of your diorama videos. You make nice, pleasant informative videos, and I really like that you just talk and show your handiwork, without all the fanfare and flash some channels do. As an aside, there's a local hobby shop in my town I get supplies from, and I often eye off the model train kits and scenery. Could certainly see myself getting into it one day, ha!

Hi Roger. Spot on buddy 100% on the same page as you. Not going to mention any name but a mate of mine, the trolls have affected him big time and he isn't a small vlogger, very upsetting. I never give a negative comment. If I I don't agree with something I won't comment. If someone does ask me for an opinion that's different. Just be respectful to your fellow modelling community. My friend pins the trolls so people can see who the plonkers are. Thanks Roger, you keep doing what you're doing mucker. ....Pete....

There's always somebody who acts like a bad attack of haemorrhoids - in other words they're a right pain in the axxe. They put others down because that's their mindset. They ain't gonna change so they ain't gonna go away.. You do a good job and I'm behind you and I'll stay subscribed to your channel. I've been debating with myself about starting a You Tube Channel. I've started re-building a Triang Blue Pullman train from the ground up and a couple of my friends have said that I ought to put it on You Tube but when I hear about morons like this it makes me ask myself if I really want to. You keep up your good work though; I appreciate it.

I do not regret starting my channel, far from it. I would also say that good far out-weighs the bad, in all areas. I have met some wonderful people, online, by phone and on some occasions real life. This guy got the attitude from me by starting his reply with what he did. I hope he was just having a bad day but when they have no videos of their own it makes you wonder.

Hi Roger. I have just watched the video again and read the comments from the viewer that this video is about. First, I totally agree with you that both the content and nature of the coments are totally unwarranted. As you said, he has taken the content of the original out of context. Just to play Devil's advocate here for a moment: he was correct in saying that the Tracksettas won't fit every situation in everyone's track plan, but you never said it would. Again, he is correct in that Tracksettas won't assist in track spacing, because that's not what they were designed for. You talk about Peco's way gauge, which is just one tool available to achieve the desired spacing. One last point: you mentioned that his "channel" contains no content. Apparently, people have told me that they have subscribed to "channel"; I do not have a channel. I believe this situation arose as a result of KZbin introducing a new policy about viewers handles, etc. I am just an avid viewer (and admirer) of other peoples channels that do upload content for the education of their viewers/subscribers. I do make comments on their videos because I have watched many videos and acquired a fair bit of knowledge that allows me to have an opinion. If my opinion may come across as negative or offensive, then I whole-heartedly apologise, as I had no intention of that being the affect it may have had. But I hope that offense wasn't taken. To finish off, I repeat that the way the commenter went about things was totally unacceptable. Keep uploading content and take care.

HI Paul, feel free to watch as often as you wish my friend. I put up my response and dealt with the comments so for me it is over. I have no wish to cause this fellow long term harm. I must aplogise for the delay in replying to you. Once again, I have been unwell of late which partly explains the lack of new content on my channel.
