Yeah I'm starting to think this as well. Used to get a 1.5 cut often, but when I wolfed longer and didnt cut, waves were more darker deeper and in depth. Alot more visible and deeper.

My Four week 1.5 wtg haircut as a coarse hair waver routine: *1st week- 1.5 Wtg full cut (2.0 wtg on crown area) *2nd week- Taper, lining only *3rd week- Taper, lining only *4th week- Taper, lining only *5th week (following month)- back to the 1.5wtg full cut and 2.0 to crown. Then repeat the taper linings for the following 3 weeks. I promise, for those who get a weekly cut like myself, this process will not have you lose wave-progress and your waves and hair will ALWAYS be on point. I've been doing this for about 8 months now. Side note: For this routine schedule to work, you definitely have to brush at least 3 times (minimum) a day. 10-15 minutes per brush session, 30 minutes per day (minimum). If not, the 1.5 wtg may be too low of a cut to maintain your wave-progress without brushing as much. Hopefully this all helped a single person out.

I think 1.5 is ideal for all coarse hair wavers, regardless of how much you brush. 2 and up is for more medium texture wavers. And unless you're doing those tapers yourself, those weekly cuts are a sizeable enough expense. Part of the appeal of waves to me is not having to cut often and just needing lineups every so often in between cuts.

If your hair is not combed With the Grain or Piked out, the 2 Clipped Guard won't cut off enough hair. If your barber doesn't comb With a Grain of your pattern or pick out your wave pattern, you should ask your barber to use a hair pick to pick out your waves or comb out the With the Grain of your wave pattern the clipper will cut off enough hair.

I'm a Nigerian waver(13)using my dad's account cutting your hair to 1 .5 adds definition and makes your waves wider and helps to break forks in way cuz your hair can be moved and changed more at that level the only reason you shouldnt is if your a beginner and still you can keep at a 2 with the grain or still 1.5 and for someone like you 360 juice you need it cuz your hair is really receeding

Hi 360juice my waves come in at just above the 1.5 cuts so it makes sense that you go higher after each wolfed my barber cut my hair just above the 1.5 marks this time than the last time so the next time we go for a 2.0 to see if the waves show

Only course hair wavers can cut their hair to a 1.5. People with medium/straight hair can cut down to a 2 guard to have better dept in your waves.💪
