Why is it called R+ and not +R?

It always confused me but here is what I saw posted about it! Researchers and scientists want to indicate that they are identifying a type of reinforcer. The reinforcer is the most important variable, so it comes first. Next is what type of reinforcer is it? Positive (+) or negative (-)? So the qualifier, + or - comes after the R. To stay accurate and true to science, it is written R+.
