Hey Horse Lovers! Please welcome our beautiful new horse to Free Spirit Equestrian, Sleeping Beauty! We bought her at an auction, and she is settling in well at the farm. Beauty is 4 years old (verified by my Vet who is an Equine Dentist), and her breeding is unknown. She is trained to ride and drives single as well! We don't have a ton of info on all of her history, but we do know some details. She has been in training with the Amish for a few months and seems to be levelheaded. We are going to continue developing her and learn more about her personality. Today we are going to ride Beauty and see how she responds to grooming and her FIRST RIDE at the farm. Shae, next time you are shopping for another horse, your best bet is to contact her previous owners 1st! She has all the attributes you love, she is beautiful and trained very kindly and gently. You won the lottery my friend! You should contact her previous owners and let them know how much you love her and the great job they did with her. They would love to hear from you as she was obviously well loved!

I think Shae met the owners. They were Armish and apparently the guy who trainer her was very sought after due to his kind ways and expertise. The friend of hers who trucked Beauty back to Free Spirit also knew the owners personally.. To my knowledge as I watched Shae buy her at the auction..

I've had someone tell me about my mum's stallion that was sold. Apparently the new owners had him put to sleep because he had low sperm count, and all they wanted him for was a breeder. He was a gorgeous cremello (according to registration and colour testing) and the biggest heart. Never ridden (that I know of) but if you spent 5 mins with him you would think he was.

It's so nice to see that some Amish are good to their horses. I used to live across the street from Amish and I took my horse there for farrier work. The women took me inside and I looked out the window and saw the men beating my horse. He had a bloody nose when I left. Needless to say I never went back. But just like other groups, there are good and there are bad. That seems like such a sweet horse! She has gentle, friendly eyes

Beauty is fantastic. I have an Amish trained miniature horse. She has a very similar personality. She is gentle, trained to pull a cart, kids can ride her and follows me everywhere. I have had her for 10 years since she was 3. She never has bitten and never kicked.

Many, MANY years ago I had a 4yo mare who had on 'old head on young shoulders'. She was that way for the rest of her life - she'd have a go at anything, and go anywhere, that I asked her. She really was my heart horse - there will never be another like her. You'll see more in the future, but Beauty might become that horse for you.

@sine-gl9ly back in the spring of 1988 I went to look for my first Fjord. I was getting into pleasure driving, would ride as well. I had ridden western and English, done some dressage and taught hunters, but had not driven. I wanted to get a 3 year old & have her bred. I went the breeder & his trainer, whom I had know for a few years, knowing they would set me up right. They had selected 3 mares for me to look at, the first was beautiful, but I knew she was not what I was looking for, though well trained for her age. The 2nd one my heart was in love and again everything was good. The 3rd, well my brain reacted first, she was perfect, my heart was still on the 2nd. I worked the 3rd one, got to spend time driving her, a discipline new to me, but even though she was 3, she had a brain, she took care of me. The breeder had the right stallion to breed her & I left her for more training, while they also ordered a meadowbrook cart and harness. That fall, I went to pick her up, she was bred. My cart was not ready, harness was, I got some driving while there. I was blessed with her for 25 years, she produced 2 beautiful fillies - her last one just turned 23 on Saturday! She made me a good whip, as well as the man I married after getting her. We actually married in the cart, 34 years ago this past Feb., in my friend’s indoor arena. She helped start a number of junior drivers I took on and she took them to junior championships! She was the most amazing mare & definitely my heart horse! Her Norwegian name translated was Holy Agreement, I do believe I was blessed with the opportunity to have her and her offspring in my life. Many never find that heart horse, you and I have been fortunate to have found that one. Although she passed 10 years ago, peacefully one night in the pasture, I still miss her. I believe Beauty could absolutely be the heart horse here, she is amazing!

I've said it before, but Beauty is an absolute gem of a horse. Her previous owners did a fantastic job training her. For a four year old, she is a fantastic mount. I was blown away by her responsiveness and smooth gaits. She shows the same qualities of a horse that has had years of training. She's going to be an amazing addition to the riding program. I also completely agree with you. There's good and bad in every community or group. You can't lump them all together and expect them to be the same. The same goes for people who say mares or thoroughbreds are nightmares. I had the pleasure if working with a horse who was both. Despite previous abuse, she was the kindest and most gentle mare. People need to take to take the time to pop out of that judgemental bubble and base things by individual of person and horse. I'm so glad you spoke up about this, Shae, because I think it's so unfair that people see others as all the same based on seeing what others like them do. Beauty is a testament against all the stereotypes.

I mentioned in comments to a previous video that Beauty seems like a horse that could be ridden hands free, with just voice, tongue clicks and a bit of foot or leg pressure to speed up, slow down or change direction. If i remember correctly, she came from the Amish? If so, the Amish educating this horse, and the wellbeing of her, her whole mindset, that should be acknowledged. The Amish more often than none are being bashed about how they treat horses and this horse has been treated like gold. She is kind, curious, well behaved and very very comfortable in her own skin. If i wanted a horse this well treated and teached, it would be from you, or Beautys previous owner. What a gem of a horse! @@nettyferguson4874 My thought is so that a sticker can’t be taken off one horse and put on another, or to keep the stickers from inadvertently coming off during the displays (in the stalls with other horses) and post-sale, if they aren’t immediately taken away by the new owners. With hundreds of horses at an auction, imagine how it could screw up the smooth transactions if the stickers came off or were switched to other horses. 🐴

I consider myself a novice (not beginner) student but to my eyes her transitions are so smooth. My instant reaction was I'd be scared students would ruin her. So advanced students sound perfect. As if that's my decision 😂. Personally I would send a lovely note to the previous owner (if I remember Kyle drove him home) & compliment him on his work with Beauty. Or just a plain thank you. Things like that make me feel good & I'm sure the recipients also feel good. There's nothing better than a *truly* genuine compliment or thank you.

What an absolute diamond Sleepy Beauty is!! Describing her as 'refined' was spot on!! The only thing I would have reservations on is using her as a training horse considering her excellence in personality and performance; she is still so young and possibly even your advanced students may not be dialed into such an accomplished horse and may be inexperienced and inadvertently heavy handle her. I wouldn't want to chance what Beauty is now to become undone, if you can understand this comes from a good place in my heart. Beauty is extremely intuitive in following your lead and what a find she was!! ❤❤❤❤❤

How wonderful! Now you and your students can practice neck reining when going western. Beauty is so obvs light on the bit and light on her feet! Such a lovely collected trot, canter and lope. I envy that smooth ride. I hear Spring peepers off in the distance! Spring!! I won't hear them for at least a month. LMAO!! You tell her shes' an angel and she yawns like, "I've been an angel for a long long time! You just joined the team." She is a total blessing for you and all your extended fam! You can use lemon extract to safely remove the glue from her coat. The individual Amish couple you bought her from, you should keep an eye out for their trained horses in the future. I used snaffles as a western rider because they were so very easy on the mouth. No law says you MUST only use them when using english tack. WOW what a treasure she is!

Wow, the Amish trainer that she was with must’ve been so amazing and kind as well. You can always tell A good trainer from a bad one and there’s a simple way to know. It’s the the result and beauty is just amazing. She is so sweet and kind And I don’t think she has a trace of sass in her well maybe just a little bit just a little bit but not when you’re riding her of course 😊 She was so good from the way she went from stop to walk walk to trot trot to canter from stop to cancer like she was incredible and I think this is like the first horse I have ever seen in your two year channel soon to be three that I have ever seen a horse this good that you have bought. I mean lumiere was good but he still needed a lot of work. You know since he’s only been in training for a couple months and another thing that amazes me is how she’s also only been under saddle for a couple of months, with the Amish trainer and she is so so incredible. I really can’t wait to see what she does next. Like she is the full package, she is sweet, kind, levelheaded sound she listens, and she is gorgeous, looking in her appearance not saying that appearance matters, but I think we all love a good looking horse😂 You really won the bet literally like you are so lucky❤❤❤ and thank you for keeping us to tune.

I teared up, too, partially because I'm so happy for you to have found Beauty (I could actually FEEL how soft she is), and partially because of Belle, and what might have been... but I remember the 2nd Belle episode, where you held her head, and told her "I'm gonna take such good care of you. I promise." Huge respect for the way you've kept your promise to her, Shae! 💓 Beauty and Zazu will make quite a pair... and Beauty's a good size for you. With their coloring, Zazu and Lumi look like artwork when they're up-close-and-personal. I thought the auction book blurb you showed us said "Paint" for Beauty... ?

Oh my goodness, she is amazing especially being only 4. I'd have loved a horse like her when I was riding and working with horses. She seems like she has the absolute sweetest disposition too. All the stars aligned to get you to her. With your friend being there, bidding, bringing her home and knowing those particular people that were selling her. It's like the universe said "Shae needs this horse, make it happen" Love her, and she's currently Belles bestie as well.

She's so PERFECT.. All the little signals of previous good training and handling, show in her responses to your riding and hanglind. That straight backing up, those smooth gait transitions. What a GOOD girl she is, in a first ride. With that foundation, and your abilities, she can go anywhere, do anything within her conformational limits. She must be so much FUN to be on. I can almost feel her under me...and she's HAPPY with you up there. She'll show you in her ears and back when she's got students on her back. And you have the sense to believe her. If she tell you someone's sitting off-balance when you haven't seen it, she'll be right. Honest, solid, sweet...you got the gold ticket horse. Of course, you'll improve her. But to start with...WOW
