Infinix is a child company of Transsion Holdings from China, the brands Infinix, Tecno, and itel come from them and they all make phones that are extremely popular in Asian and African budget gadget markets. TH also owns the accessories company Oraimo iirc. I'm from Nigeria and my phone is actually a Tecno one. This is their first laptop as far as I know, and if I know anything about them, they wouldn't be making the most balls to the wall system on the market by any stretch of the imagination. Palmstore is an app that comes preinstalled on every TH phone, so I'm sure they made it too btw Edit: I'm sure they're planning to break into the western market next, if they approached you guys

Except for the custom backscreen and the side ports it feels like a rebrand (Edit: or maybe same chassis manufacturer). Another difference is the screen is 16:9 instead of 3:2 on matebook that mean they have the webcam above the screen instead of IN the keyboard. The Tuxedo Pulse 15 Gen 2 has a Ryzen 5700U and a 91Wh battery that should easily do 10h+ of light usage on battery. Tuxedo also has an InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen 7 w/ an i7-12700H w/ a 99Wh battery (the Schenker Vision 14 and Slimbook Executive 14 are basically the same laptop). It's possible to have decent battery life w/ Intel if you tweak with power limiting (eg, lowering power limits, adjusting EPP), but in general, recent Ryzen mobile chips tend to be a lot more power efficient.

@lhl yeah, but you spend more time until tasks are done, so y won't really recommend battery saver profiles on intel machines is not realistic core i 9 is not core i7 y know cause y have core i9 machine and 50 watt tdp is iddle no programs opened you have to add the gpu also on servers you might actually acive 4 hours of battery live y mean server os cause you can enable only what you need, but the license prices, 😉 no kidding 91 watt/hour is minimal for i9 people complaining with 100 watt/hour batteries intel cpus have parallel computation like a gpu card amd are serial cpus support more power management but the erro rate is way up compared to intel

I'm actually glad that for once a US/Canada based KZbinr didn't just go ahead and assume they know everything about all markets and say "For this price, this is the best, just go buy it!". Because the PPP and thereby the prices can be extremely different in different countries. Obviously a lot of people from India are watching this video giving Infinix an opportunity to boost sales, this also gives them the opportunity to be introduced to Western consumers, so it is ethically the right thing for ShortCircuit to give an overview of the pros and cons of the product but be upfront about the fact you can't really say if this product is indeed as good a value of money for the actual target audience or not because that is not the market you primarily operate in. As an Indian, this video gave me enough idea about how good or bad the product is in the view of a team that has hands-on experience with a lot of high-end products but also cautioned me enough about not blindly fit everything you say to the product because ultimately the competition to this product in India may be very different than what you see in US/Canada.

That cpu power limiting switch is the best thing ever on laptop. But afcorse you need to have adequate cooling, but throttling down some 25 w CPUs is mind boggling. Have an option to throttle for light office work or unleashing full power of 25watt would be also apriciated. I don't understand that.

Back when s3 sleep was still a thing I almost exclusively used hibernation because I thought the battery drain with s3 sleep was to much. There was the added benefit of booting off a different drive without losing your work. This was off spinning disks too. So it was 2 pros for me.

The problem with Modern Standby is that it doesn't immediately and permanently shut off the fans as soon as it goes into standby. When you put it in a bag, the fans spin but don't blow, make heat, get turned up more, make more heat, get turned up more... yeah, then you have a hot, dead laptop.
