I also absolutely despize those subpar gas caps with no vents. Buying one of these vents. Thank you!

I'm liking this o-ringed metal version over the plastic one, worth a try. If the rubber doesn't hold up then I might try a 'pops-a-vent' which I just learned about, which you can install with a sealant for a stronger seal.

While not as elaborate your demonstrated model, my frustration with new cans flow led me to a cheaper plastic venting alternative that so far has worked fine to increase flow. It is very similar to vent on the first ever plastic can I bought 45 years ago that still works fine. I bought a couple of No Spill cans for a particular use and they flow fine as is. My frustration with No Spill is filling the darn things. They have something called a flame mitigation device. To me the only thing it mitigates is the rapid fueling of the can. That's an easy fix too. Just yank 'em out. I am on the dark side of 70 and never saw a fire filling a gas can.

Hi Ben. Agree those safety spouts are a hassle. I got around it with the SureCan 5 gal. Gasoline Can, model SUR50G2. Thanks for all the good tips.

Used this vent on a harbor freight Jerry Can by Midwest industries. Best setup now and will last my lifetime.

I have been using a battery powered transfer pump for some time now! Much easier and with the heavy 5 gallon cans no more lifting and holding while dispensng fuel!

Tire valve works excellent, just take the core out.

You are right. Replacing a valve stem is actually less expensive. The only issue you need to consider is switching to a fuel-resistant o-ring type.

Hey Ben .there has been some videos of a DIY hack of using a valve stem and just taking the core out . But the unit you have here is pretty sweet .

If the knurled cap was longer and had small holes drilled in the upper portion, wouldn't have to take cap off, just loosen and back off to vent through cap side holes.
@1kzrider
@1kzrider Жыл бұрын
Nice upgrade would be even nicer had they put a piece of wire attached to the cap so can loosen and not drop or loose roll off into that blackhole like a 10mm socket lol

I was looking for diagonal cutter reviews and I remember your channel and see if you did any. You only did bolt cutters. Any plans for diagonal cutter video in the future? Maybe a twin force knipex.

Any idea the size of drill bit this takes. I already have holes in my cans that are sized to rubber valve stems. I can’t go any smaller.

How are the O-rings holding up after one year, to the ethanol in the gas?

Zero issues, other than my brother stole it from me and it is currently in the back of his truck running back-and-forth between oil rigs.

This may be a stupid question, but can't you just use the gas can without this attachment and use a funnel in the mower?

I believe you must remove it before installation. If you're searching for a quick way to install it in 10 seconds or less, I recommend the ZOOYL Air Ducky gas can vent.

I’d tape or lash a line to the bent end of that wire so I wouldn’t need to fish it back through to remove it.
