Yes, take all starters out in a blowout game. Not doing that is unfair to the bench players, and can hold back their development. That little extra experience is very helpful to them, and can better position them to perform if they ever get more playing time. It's also beneficial to the coach, since it can help him know who should be playing more.
@TuckerRichardson8 ай бұрын
Makes sense. I will say in my situation in high school, the bench players didn't really have college aspirations although of course they wanted to play. I appreciate your insight!

Wouldn’t that be unfair to the starters though

When a team is leading late in the game the star will sit. 1. Hold your teammates accountable. 2. Give the star an urge to play harder if the lead slips. 3. Role players get experience. 4. Hey tuck great vid again Firstly with the blowout thing, i think it depends on your benches playing level and the situation of the game. Like if my team was up by 20 with 5 minutes left it could be dangerous to sub the bench in because with the style of play in the league that could quickly get erased. Secondly, just a quick question. Ive mentioned previously that is offseason for mw now, but i dont have access to a hoop at home and i live out of town. I try and play as much as i can at school in the gym or outdoor courts, but what can i be doing at home to improve?
@TuckerRichardson8 ай бұрын
Thanks Cooper! Interesting your situation with your bench guys. I think every team is going to be in a different situation. As to how you can continue to improve your game, obviously you can still do some stuff to improve your skills. You can work on your ballhandling and shooting form. I would also say, start getting consistent with things like pushups, situps, or other bodyweight strength excersises. It is really crazy how much stronger you can get just by doing 100 pushups a day!

I feel like it’s a great move by coaches taking their best players out during blowouts , what the point of playing the top player if there is a blowout. It allows others to show their skill and also is a great way to prevent injury and limits risks of losing the star player in a more important game.

I think it's about understanding that misses are apart of the game. To expect to never miss shots doesn't make sense. Separate success and failure from makes and misses and you will feel more confident in your game.

Such a selfish take, you should be ashamed. Even if they don’t deserve a single second when the game actually matters they deserve every second when it doesn’t. Without them your nothing, without them you don’t have a team, without them you don’t get to play, without them you don’t get to practice your team offense / defense, without them you can’t practice your in game skill, without them your just a player without a purpose. So give back to them what they gave you and grow up young man. You owe it to each and every person on the bench, the parents of those on the bench, the friends of those on the bench, and the people who oversee everything. Can’t believe you’re such an ungrateful burning pile of rotten trash. Not everyone can even play this sport, let alone have the opportunity to practice hours everyday and play on an actual team. You’re blessed to have the ability and time time to play, practice, and enjoy this beloved game. Don’t take it for granted. Also change your terrible attitude. Good luck young man.

It is all about staying in the moment and just focusing on the next play or next shot. When you realize that everyone on the court misses shots all the time, and that no one is thinking about your misses or makes, it will free you up to make more mistakes.
